Mother ‘Angry With Everybody’ After 14-Year-Old Given HPV Vaccine Without Permission

Detroit Teen Given HPV Vaccine Without Parent PermissionLike many parents, Sighle Kinney expected the nurse at her 14-year-old daughter’s school to take care of her if she scraped her knee, provide her with pain reliever if she had an unbearable headache and let her lie down for a spell if she wasn’t feeling well. What Kinney didn‘t expect was to see a rash on her daughter’s arm and find it out that it was a reaction to a vaccine that she hadn’t approved.

The Detroit mother whose daughter attends Marcus Garvey Academy told the local ABC affiliate that she is “angry with everybody” over the fact that her daughter received four vaccinations, one of which was for HPV, without permission.

Here’s how it went down according to WXYZ:

The daughter says she was called out of class by the school nurse back on January 30th and sent to the school’s clinic, which is operated by St. John’s medical.

Sighle was furious. She says she never gave consent for the shots to the school or St. John’s – Sighle says she even signed a document indicating never to administer medical treatment to her daughter.

“I told them – if she falls, give her a Band Aid, or if she has a headache, give her an aspirin – that’s it,” she says”

Shortly after receiving the vaccines, Kinney says her daughter developed a rash on her body. The Detroit Public School System released a statement that said “staff at the clinic must maintain confidentiality with the students” and that Kinney should “take her very serious concerns to St. John’s.” WXYZ reports that St. John’s statement only read they were aware of the situation and would be meeting with the family involved.

Still, Kinney says someone needs to be held responsible. She said, “How are you going to overlook something like this – you injected my child with medicine I never wanted her to have.”

At the same time, a mother from Billings, Montana, is protesting an HPV vaccine clinic that a local health center is trying to set up at a school. The clinic would include vaccinations for both Gardasil, the HPV vaccine, and Menactra, a meningitis vaccine. But it’s the controversial HPV vaccine that Tabatha Pearson is concerned encourages promiscuity and may have negative side effects, the Billings Gazette reports:

My issue is with the drug — period,” said Pearson, who has two children enrolled at the school. “I believe the school and RiverStone Health are encouraging the kids to be sexually active.”

Pearson also contends students and parents have not been adequately informed about the vaccine and its health risks.

She said her 21-year-old daughter, who is now married, received the shot when she was 17 and a student at Skyview High School. Her daughter is now unable to have children, and Pearson blames the Gardasil vaccine.

The clinic is voluntary and would be directed toward 11- and 12-year-olds.

    So when this young lady dies or gets cancer or cannot have children without birth defects can we inject everyone involved with something we concoct in our basement lab? There is absolutely no excuse for this to have happened, no amount of “oh, were sorry, it was an over site on our part,” or any possible excuse is ever going to smooth this over and I feel a ten trillion dollar lawsuit against this school system payable to this girl will set an example and Break the public school system. My daughter- ten trillion would be a nice start. I assume the school was all out of thalidomide for this young lady? Maybe a little uranium and arsenic was out of stock? Sue the hell out of them. And pray to GOD that nothing happens to this 14 year old little lady for the next 100 years. If so (I dearly pray it does not) But if whatever would or could does, it has to make this school system 100% liable with NO statute of limitations.

      A twenty-two year old got this shot..I didn’t tell her my suspicions that it would cause cancer..not more than six months later..she had this cancer..she said she asked them about the shot..they told her that there are hundreds of strains of this cancer..so gee..no liability.. from my investigation..this vaccine is supposedly for a very rare cancer..what do you want to bet that there will be an epidemic..my 12 yr old neice also got the vaccine..

      Supposedly rare? Cervical cancer appears in thousands of women each year, and HPV is present in the majority of sexually-active people (condoms do not stop it from spreading). The vaccine stops the strains of HPV that constitute some 70% of cases… and cause 90% of all cervical cancer.

      I remember the last time an article about this came up, I posted the straight facts. To date there have been over 40 million doses of Gardasil given, and about 21,000 cases of side effects. 8% of those side effects were serious; 71 deaths have been found arising from the vaccine. To put it in perspective, the chicken pox vaccine is more deadly; and a girl’s chance of getting HPV and dying of cervical cancer are higher by magnitudes of thousands.

      The issue with this story is the lack of parental consent. The mother is justified in her anger, and should sue.

      The flaw in your argument is only using statistics from the CDC (the government) to crunch those numbers. There are many reputable independent studies showing very different numbers. I researched the vaccine for 3 months before deciding that my daughter would not get the vaccine.

      I believe it is up to the parents to make the decision to vaccinate or not. But they shouldn’t rely solely on the CDC info when making that choice.

      One has to wonder why they called this specific kid out of class to get the shot. Are the teachers told to be aware of sexually active girls or profile who they think might be….have them get the shot based on the sexual profile? Something is missing here.

      I’d be happy to read some of them if you have those available. At least with the CDC, they report exactly how they compile their numbers; and it’s a far cry better than the people going “Oh, my uncle‘s neighbor’s girlfriend’s daughter took this injection and is now sterile! She also turned into a newt. But got better.”

      Will there be side effects? Yes, of course. Allergies happen; defective vaccinations happen. But from what I’ve read of other studies they research specific groups (”out of 1000 patients, 300 got sick over the next 5 years! It must have been this one vaccine!”) or have blatant biases (anti-vaccination groups, usually the same one who promote the vaccines = autism myth from the discredited Andrew Wakefield).

      Compulsory vaccinations come soon to your community. Get ready, it is coming and if you don’t get them you will heavily fined and probably imprisoned/quarantined. Mark my words. The excuse will be the next big “pandemic”. I am convinced more evil and enslavement has been done in the name of safety and “protecting” the people than any other source in the government. Don’t let a good crisis go to waste, get all the control you can when you can get it. Just like the frog in the water whose temperature is gradually increased to the point of boiling in it without ever trying to jump out. That is the majority of American citizens today.

      It‘s been 3 years but I’ll try to find links to the studies we looked at. I did have the same concerns as you about the size, scope and potential bias of the studies so that was part of my research criteria.

      The main point I’m trying to make is parents should take the time to research multiple sources before making healthcare decisions for their child (and themselves as well). Sadly, we live in a world where the government doesn’t tell us the truth, skews numbers to fit their own agendas, where drug companies push the approval & use of their products for profit – not necessarily for the benefit of patients, where the DOE and local school districts have agendas that focus more on poltics and social agendas than educating our children. These days taking anything at face value is like playing russian roulette.

      It amazes me that people will spend the time to research & compare before buying a car or a major appliance yet they don’t do the same when considering healthcare decisions.

      I 100% agree. From my research it doesn’t seem like the vaccine is overly dangerous, but I will admit I’m biased, as a close friend of mine got HPV (and luckily had the cysts discovered when they were still precancerous). More information is never a bad thing!

      We know from their own words and writings that progressives are for eugenics, forced sterilization, forced abortion and population control. We also know that most adults would never agree to these things. So I’m seeing all these stories about kids being taken out of school for abortions, contraception shots, vaccines etc and I have to wonder if they aren’t conditoning our kids to accept these procedures so eventually they can just sterilize them all in school without having to get the parents involved. Just tell the kid they’re getting “birth control shots” and the kids too nieve to know better, doesn’t want to tell their parents so its kept “confidential” and by the time they grow up and realize they’re sterile its too late to do anything about it. Scary. This is why I homeschool, their not getting their hands on my kids!!!

      The medical profession have a blind spot regarding these dangerous vaccines.       This article is written in such a way that important information is left out. The nurse didn’t necessarily tie the girl down and give her an HPV vaccine against her will. The girl probably was called down for another reason, but we don’t know as the article cleverly leaves it out. Also

      Pearson blames the Gardasil vaccine. But it’s not necessarily correlated, because surely if it had been, she would have said so.

      Anyway, your kids will be having sex, that’s just the truth. And there’s nothing wrong with sex, so stop vilifying it. The HPV vaccine does not encourage sex. I think it should be mandatory for everyone, and especially guys to get it since they could be carrying HPV and would never know.

      Eugenics and forced sterilization/ population control are not conspiracies theories, progressives have openly talked about it and encouraged it for years. Look it up. Even President Obama’s own science czar, John Holdron has openly endorsed and written about such things as well as Cass Sunstein and of course Zeke Emanuel (brother of Rahm Emanuel) is infamous for his “complete lives system” of health rationing. It’s not so far fetched to think they would try to push this agenda stealthily as they did with Planned Parenthood. Margaret Sanger was a staunch advocate of eugenics and sterilization of “undesirables” but found that most people didn’t like that sort of thing so she had to do it more subtly, she started Planned Parenthood and invented the birth control pill. It’s not conspiracy theories, its historical fact.

      there should be a fund set up to help this family, and others, offset the cost of filing a lawsuit in cases like this. i think if there were, and the strong possibility of being sued, may cause these people to think twice before doing something like this without notifying the parents.

      I think when this woman said that “her daughter was her child”, sums up exactly what is happening in the public school system. It is all about progressive policies. The government assumes that they know best, and that all parents are somehow disconnected with their children and don’t have their own ideas of how they wish to raise their children (including what medicines go into their body). This is a gross injustice, and I hope this story spreads in the media because not only is it about a Parent trying to retain the right to administer to her child as she sees fit, Big governent intrusion is what the socialist and progressive movement is all about. They think that anyone who does not think their way is somehow stupid or ill informed. And the public schools give the message to the children that parents are out-of-touch and don’t know what is best for them so they should listen to what the government thinks is right. Administering what could be harmful drugs into a child without parental consent is wrong. I would be furious! I hope this woman fights this all the way. I am on her side!!!!!!!!!

You need to look to the military and how they used to use soldiers as test subjects by exposing them to radiation and chemicals without their knowledge or consent.       Hey idiot prevents cervical cancer, any parent not letting their daughters get this shot is no looking after their daughter’s best interest or health.

      I’m sure the real story will come out. Usually schools only have ONE consent format the beginning of the year. The parent probably did not read it carefully. Maybe the school knows something about the daughter the parents don’t.

      Supposedly, this cancer is carried by BOYS, and spread through sexual contact. Try having a 12 year old boy. Everytime I take him to the doctor (starting TWO YEARS AGO AT THE AGE OF 10), his pediatrician tries to push this shot on him. My son asked what HPV was, and I told him it caused cervical cancer. He knew what a cervix was, and wanted to know why HE needed the shot. I believe we are being made as a society to depend on vaccines because they’re big money. If we all discovered just how dangerous they were, the pharmicuetical companies would go broke. Think about it, vaccines cause reactions that need to be treated with more drugs. If a vaccine actually cured something, it would be counter-productive for a business. They’d be putting themselves out of business.

    The ONLY people that should be giving your children a shot is your pediatrician. The public schools are supposed to be TEACHING your child, not in the health profession and have NO business giving ANYONE a shot, much less an HPV vaccine. This decision should be left to parents, and parents ALONE. This is a violation of parental and the child’s rights. This really makes me angry. You wouldn‘t like me when I’m angry.

If you want this crap to stop, then public schools need to lose 100,000 kids to home school or private school EVERY TIME something like this happens. As long as parents get up the next morning and dutifully deliver their kids back to the Department of Education for indoctrination and social engineering, this will keep happening.

      We homeschool our children too after witnessing the junk that our children were being exposes to on a daily basis. By homeschooling we instill in our children our rights, our values, our beliefs, our morality and our knowledge of how the world really works. “But” they argue “Your sheltering your child” to which I say, your damn straight I am!! “What about socialization” they argue to which I say “That’s the kind of socialization my kids can do without”. I will pick who they socialize with, they are my children and it is my responsibility to mold them while they are young so they grow up to be great adults and are better able distinguish right from wrong.

      This is exactly what attorneys ARE for. No minor child should be given an aspirin without permission and the school nurse is aware of this. As for the only 8% have side effects argument, well isn’t that a crapshoot? One of my children has had lifelong effects after being given the MMR. Ask him what it is like to be a percentage.
      This is all about what liberals hate, what Satan hates, life. ” Hey, let’s sterilize 8% of the population to achieve a number of goals. Let‘s pick the Jones’ child to send. Her family is conservative and won’t want Suzy to have access to birth control. We’ll fix that.”
      Think that is far fetched, then you haven’t worked in a school system lately. Wake up! Education is no longer the goal! I don‘t want my child to be anyone’s guinea pig.

    You know what I don’t care or give a flying crap about why the vaccine was administered or why the mother has an objection to it, SHE DIDN’T GIVE HER PERMISSION!!!!! End of story!!!! This is supposed to be a free country. These vaccines haven’t been proven safe and if I have an objection to the ones we already are required to give them in order to attend public school then I should have a right to have that discussion for MY child!!!! I’m the one that will go to jail for not caring properly for them but yet the government and public schools have the right to tell me that I have to do it. All the responsiblity but none of the choice. Parents all over this country should hear this story and should be OUTRAGED!!!!

      Exactly. The HPV vaccine is pretty darn useful, but it’s also up to the parents to decide if they want their children to get it. The clinic/school was in the wrong, and should be sued.

      Agree! The parent did not give their permission! If you sue, you are actually taking tax-payer’s money(your hard-working neighbor). Set up a large meeting with other parents and a list of problems and then have hearings with school officials and put them on alert that parents are monitoring them. It seems now-a-days parents have to be more & more involved with their child’s education & health administrators. Parents sure have their plates-full. God bless parents!

      Oh yeah that will fix everything – create a community organization to watch the school, what the hell does that solve. NO, you must hit them with a lawsuit that is the only language they know. Otherwise, it will continue under your nose under a disguise of something else.

      I am not convinced the school nurse injected the HPV vaccine. I would test everything. It would not surprise me, especially in Detroit, that Liberal Progressives injected her with contraception vaccine.

    I agree entirely that NO school should give any medication to your child without the parents permission, but let’s get real. The HPV vaccine DOES NOT encourage promiscuity. Yes, it must be given to a child while they are still a virgin. And yes it inoculates a child from an STD that causes CANCER. But the only people that know the vaccine does that is the doctor and the parents. My child took it and has no idea 1) what it was nor 2) what it was for. She just knew she got another shot that day. If the HPV vaccine does encourage promiscuity then I gues the chicken pox vaccine (which must be given b4 getting the chicken pox) encourages children to run out and lay down with people with chicken pox.

    Parents who get on the sex path about HPV ruin the argument for the sane parents who disagree with the government forcing parents to give the vaccine to their child. It should be a choice like all other vaccines. Yes, schools require you to vaccinate your children to attend school. But you are more than welcome to leave your children vulnerable to every sickness out there and home school them all you want.

      While the HPV vaccine was developed with good intentions, it does have it’s inherent dangerous side effects. When the government leaves the parent out of the equation and just says that it knows better makes me think of the Tuskeegee experiment.

      In that HPV isn’t airborne? Here’s a question: if they created an HIV vaccine, would you give it to your child despite knowing that HIV/AIDS isn’t airborne? HPV can be just as deadly; it isn’t stopped by condoms; and it’s one of the most common STDs (between 50 and 75% of sexually active college students will have it at some point. Numbers vary based on sources and conjecture, as only 1% of cases show external symptoms).

      I agree with Neversurrender. The issue is not the vaccine in question, but that the parent’s permission was never received. She should sue; not because the vaccine is excessively dangerous, but because a parent should never be left out of the medical health decisions of their child.

    My daughter is 15 and everytime we go to the doctor they try to push this on me. The doctor has gone as far as asking my daughter if she wants me to leave so they can talk with her alone. Of course my daughter said no. About a month ago I took my daughter for a regular visit and asked the doctor what shots she would be needing and she read this shot off as if it was a requirement. When I informed her that I wouldn‘t be giving her this shot her eyegalls grew so big I couldn’t believe it. She proceeded to ask me why. I informed her that I had done my research and made a decision not to give that shot to any of my girls. She was like “I can give you my research!“ ”I don‘t know where you’re getting your research from?” She also stated that I didn’t know where my daughter was all the time to which I replied my daughter is a straight A student who is either at school, at soccer practice or at home. I’m not sure what kind of teenagers you get in your office but I can assure you I know where my child is ALL THE TIME.

    My final statement which was meant to irk the doctor was…she will not be getting the shot because of the research I’ve done, the fact that she is not sexually active and hopefully she will be engaged or married when that occurs, and she is being raised in a Christian home. When she is 18 she can make her own decison but for now I’m saying NO. It’s amazing how many people are giving this to their daughters with absolutely zero research.

      Kudos to you for standing up to the elite know it all Doctor who obviously looks down her nose at you and likely anybody else who does not agree 100% with her. Now, my suggestion is to take a long hard look at her view of you and your family and you may want to continue your research and find a more amiable and competent family physician. There is no telling what this Dr will attempt to do next.

      Bravo mom! Without my knowledge, a few years back,my husband had taken our then 12 year old daughter to the doctor. She got 1 dose of the vaccine, then a year later, got another. I was OK with it then, but now that I know and understand the dangers, I ma very concerned. After reading some of the stories about gardasil, I hope and pray that my daughter will be fine. I want to be a grandma one day!!

      Conservativeqtee, you are so correct. This vaccine is unnecessary and should not be given as a prevention to cancer. There are over 100 strains of HPV; this particular vaccine only covers 3 – 4. Not enough research had been done to look at outcomes (cancer prevention) before it was fast-tracked through the FDA. Death, severe neurological problems, mentrual problems, polycystic ovarian syndrome, excessive stomach issues, and the list goes on.
      And this vaccine should NEVER be given with any other vaccines because of the high levels of aluminum in all vaccines.
      This is an all-out assault on our children’s health.

My youngest has several health issues going on, and after I’d already done a lot research and had already decided against it for my youngest. Her pediatrician asked about it and my comment was “with all the other things going on with her, not a good idea”. He agreed and has not asked since.

    Welcome to 1984. In Colorado, as of last week, the board of health ruled – and they went around all legislative courses, that If you are a healthcare worker in a hospital or long term care facility, you get a flu shot, or get fired. The new law does not allow for religious exemptions or personal exemptions. The goal is 90% vaccinated by 2014. If you do not get the vaccine, you can don a mask from November to March.

    So, if only 80% are vaccinated by the deadline, and the hospital has to fire someone for not receiving the shot, does that worker receive unemployment? If wearing a mask tells everyone around you that you didn’t receive a flu shot, is that a HIPPA violation? The board said flat out that religious reasons are not valid, period.

      About 11 years ago when I was a civilian cop the city required all city employees take the annual flue shot. The one and only exception were for those with egg related allergies and they had to present proof. Hell, I was able to opt out while in the service. Oh yeah, they were very draconian about tracking all personnel, and the unions did not back any employee who desired to opt out.

    I live in Michigan. My son is going into 6th grade-I got this letter from the school a few weeks ago. He will not be allowed to attended unless the following are up to date: One dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (on or after 11th birthday)
    One dose of tetanus/diptheria/acellular pertussis (on or after the 11th birthday if 5yrs since last dose)
    Two doses of varicella or a history of the chickenpox disease.

    {I’m wondering what “a history of chickenpox” entails. He had them age 3-no need to take him to a doctor}

    For them “THEM” to take this woman’s daughter and give her INJECTIONS/BLOOD & URINE tests WITHOUT HER CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE is very alarming. What mom said about the flu shot really hit home for me! We don’t do flu shots-the H1N1 shot got rushed through so fast who the heck KNOWS what the long-term side effects are-same with the HPV shot.
    Time to call my State Reps AND Head of Education heads!

      How many commercials have you seen in the last 6 months on class action lawsuits for medication given in the 80‘s and 90’s that were tested extensively and “safe”? 10 different ones? Asbestos was safe too. Smoking was so safe the doctors all smoked in the hospitals. It is a rare cancer, if your kid is sleeping around, look in the mirror at the crappy parenting job and be MUCH more worried about the other much more dangerous STD’s out there. Have you seen an Aids patient lately? Have you ever seen anyone with tertiary syphillis dementia? Syphillis is no longer cured with a shot of pen V K anymore. It is the exact same spirochete as LYME disease and extremely difficult to treat much less cure. Wake up dude! Big pharma is in it for big pharma money, testing is not adequate nor long term.

      You are right, I got all my vaccines when I was little, and was thankful. But having said that, you have to be careful, and notice if they are taking blood withdraws, sometimes there will be a bit of small fluid they inject first, then draw out…I ask for a needle without that fluid, or I get up from the table. It’s coming, and for the state to do that without parents permission is both negligent BY the state and bad parents, just following the system. The world is changing, and pretending it isn’t, is fool hearty. ….look up the Georgia stones history, you’ll find this is a desire to keep the population down.

      I don’t even know where to start… ok, how about with AIDS patients? You call it a more deadly disease; but do you know why you don’t see cancer patients as often? Because they freaking die. You can survive with AIDS for decades; cancer will kill you in months if caught too late. Cervical cancer is the second most common and fifth deadliest cancer in women; and 90% of cases come from HPV. Over a quarter million women are killed every year by cervical cancer alone; several thousand of them are in the US.

      As for HPV, you don’t get it just from “sleeping around.” Condoms don’t protect against it, and it is almost always asymptomatic in men. If your daughter/sister/niece is sleeping with a college-age man who is not a virgin, odds are he has HPV (if she has more than one partner within four years, it’s approximately 85%). So even if you practice safe sex with one partner, your chances of getting HPV are high. Even worse, it can be spread without actual sex; grinding, rubbing, and non-intercourse means can spread it as well.

      It’s not the worst disease out there, but it’s one of the most common and has a serious potential to kill its female victims. Your argument is akin to saying “Hey, the flu is bad, but ebola is worse!” Sure… but the flu still kills thousands each year and is very common. One should not try to dummy down the danger.
