Mother of 6-Year-Old Who Died in Aurora Shooting Has Miscarriage After Her Own Critical Injuries

Ashley Moser, Mother of 6 Year Old Aurora Colorado Shooting Victim Veronica Moser Sullivan, Suffers Miscarriage

Ashley Moser, mother of 6-year-old Aurora, Colo. shooting victim Veronica Moser-Sullivan, has suffered a miscarriage following her own critical injuries.

The woman whose 6-year-old daughter was the youngest to die in the Aurora, Colo. theater shooting has suffered a miscarriage following her own critical injuries.

The family of Ashley Moser said in a statement Saturday she is recovering from surgery but that the trauma she suffered caused her to miscarry, according to the Associated Press. Moser suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and abdomen.

The Jefferson County sheriff’s office would not release additional details and said the family has declined to speak to the media.

Moser’s daughter, Veronica Moser-Sullivan, was the youngest person to die during the attack on a midnight screening of the new Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises” more than a week ago.

Following the shooting, Ashley Moser’s aunt said they hadn’t told Moser her daughter had died.

“Nobody can tell her about it,” Annie Dalton said of her niece. “She is in critical condition, but all she’s asking about is her daughter.”

Criminal charges are expected to be filed against alleged gunman James Holmes on Monday.

I was going to take my 9 old son to see this movie. yes its violent no it wasn’t going to be a late night show. Super hero movies aresme of our funnest mom and son times. I am sick that man are condemning this woman and shaming her as if her children’s deaths are her fault. They were the fault of 2 people, the man who shot up the theater and the dr he was seeing who didn’t do anything about his madness. My parents are dr’s, in my state of wa a doctr even medical not just a therapist or psycologist can have your permit taken away. It’s simple with ptsd or if someone is deeply depressed or hearing voices. This man insane or not deserves the death penalty. I am sck of hearing o they have schizophrenia therefore the murders they comit are no their fault. yes it is. ther are many drugs to treat this disease but rarely do they take them. My heart thoughts and prayers go out to this woman and her family

If, on a Beautiful Saturday afternoon, You decided to take your kids to a park and play, and a hate filled meth freak stole a car, smashed into yours and killed your kids, would it be your fault ?
Should your community hold you personally responsible ?
By your logic, You bear some responsibility. You chose to take them to the park. You chose to put them in your car. You chose that road over another.
Putting your personal grief aside, How many child endangerment causing death criminal charges should u face ?
      Should you be 30% responsible, 50%, 80% ?
The answer is 0%, None, Nada, zip, zero
Mrs Moser, Is 100% victim, her daughter is 100% victim, all but 1 in that theater were victims. Too even imply some personal accountability or responsibility, for the carnage brought on by 1 man, to the patrons of the theater is in itself a reprehensible act.

Oh shut up, Mustang. It‘s not like the kid was being taken to see the latest ’Saw’ movie. I watched far more violent films than Batman at that age (I distinctly remember watching Alien, for example, around that age). And who cares if the kid was up at midnight? How does that make any difference whatsoever?

65MUSTANG — there is absolutely no difference between the park example and the mother taking her child to the theater. The time of day, the content of the movie and the age of the child are completely and totally irrelevant. The mother did not lose two children because of any of those factors. She lost them because someone decided to inflict his madness upon the world.

Uh oh, look out guys, we have a tough guy on our hands!

      LOL

Who the hell are you to say where this girl should and shouldn’t have been? You’re not her parent.

Look, there are lots and lots of late movies played all of the time in this country. If you average all of their attendances out against the victims of this shooting, the overall danger levels of going to a late showing of a movie would be around that of choking to death on a cornflake. There was no logical reason for the mother to have any reason to believe that anything untoward would happen at this movie.

Try thinking a little bit before you go off half cocked, else you will once again make yourself look stupid. And we don’t want that, do we?

What you are failing to understand is that this shooting could have happened anytime. Anywhere. He just as easily could have shown up the following evening at 8pm. And last I checked, it is perfectly okay for children to be in PG-13 movies if they’re accompanied by an adult, as this one was. That‘s why it’s called PG-13 (Parental guidance recommended for children under 13).

Besides, Batman really isn’t that violent. I saw plenty of actually violent movies when I was around that age and I turned out fairly well-balanced, successful, and I was not mowed down by a psychopathic mass murderer. Guess I just got lucky, huh? Or maybe it‘s just that these things are so ridiculously rare and unforeseeable that you simply can’t plan around them. It’s impossible. It’s easy to play the “what if” game after the fact, but you can’t condemn someone for not being able to see into the future.

As for the time, it was during summer, school was out. How is it a problem to let your kid stay up late once in a while as a treat?

DID ANY OF YOU WHO BLAME THESE PARENTS – blame the parents of the 9 year old who died in the afternoon in a supermarket parking lot at the Rep Gifford’s shooting?

WOULD ANY OF YOU WHO BLAME THE PARENTS – blame the parents if their 6 year old were murdered by a crazed man who broke into the home WHILE THE PARENTS WERE AT THE MOVIE.

Obviously crazy people shoot DURING NOON as well as at MID-NIGHT.

The parents of this 6 year old AND the parents of the Gifford shooting 9 year old – HAD THEIR LOVING CHILDREN WITH THEM where they should have been SAFE. It doesn’t matter if it was NOON or MIDNIGHT. Better the 6 year old be curled next to her loving parents sleeping (they paid for her ticket) and that that save the $25 babysitting fee they probably could not afford than with a babysitter or left alone in a car and it was great that the parents of the 9 year old take her child to a Gifford’s events to show her democracy in action.

Only Sanctimonious A- holes would blame the parents.

If you do, you must have on fat anti-social children who are kept locked inside the house and can never drive (might be a wreck) never attend school (might be another Columbine), never go to a store (might get robbed) never attend a movie (might get shot up), never walk down a sidewalk (might get kidnapped/run over by a out of control car), etc ect ect.

CONSERVATIVE ATHEIST — who are you to say she shouldn’t have had her kid at a midnight movie? That is for the individual parent to decide about their individual children. Little Ms. Moser did not die because her mother took her to see a movie after midnight; the time and movie have nothing to do with it. Ms. Moser died because a madman decided to inflict his sickness upon the world. The blame falls in one place and one place only, James Holmes.

Everyone is going to have all sorts of differing opinions on what’s the right way to raise their kids. You didn’t want your kids out past 11? That’s fine. That doesn‘t mean that it’s a hard and fast rule for raising healthy children, so condemning another parent for that very thing is ludicrous.

But the fact of the matter is that there is nothing that you can say that can in anyway implicate the mother in this horrible tragedy, no matter how hard you try.

CONSERVATIVE ATHEIST — you have little idea what you are talking about and I think you are simply trying to stir controversy.

First off, they were at a Thursday night showing of a movie, not a Saturday night.

Secondly, the chances of being in an alcohol related accident are astronomically low. There are 4 million alcohol related accidents in the United States every year, of which 14,000 result in a fatality. Each one is a tragedy, each one is terrible. However, considering there are 300 million people in this country, taking 1.1 billion car trips per day (according to the BTS statistics), it would be generous to say your chances of being hit and killed by a drunk driver are slim.

Do drunk driving accidents increase on the weekend, yes. But the chances are still almost negligible. If you take your child out of the house, be it after midnight or any other time of day, drunk drivers are not a scourge you have to worry every moment about.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking your child out after midnight, as a special occasion.

Nobody took responsibility to protect themselves… Can you not get a concealed carry license in Colorado? Yes, it took them by storm, but nobody had a gun to make the aggressor think about his own safety. The police, that we rely on for protection, are never around when idiots like this decide to act. WAKE UP AMERICA. the more gun control the more of these incidents..look at countries like England and Austrilia, where there are no guns allowed, the crime rate has gone up to over 300% then when people were allowed to protect themselves. …..Switzerland mandates that every citizen own and be trained on how to use a gun…they have the lowest crime rate in the world…

The reason she’s asking about her little girl constantly, is her Mother’s intuition. She’s sensing that something is wrong with her child.
She should be allowed to mourn the loss of both her children. Let the Mother decide for herself, if she wants to continue the fight to stay alive, or let go, and join her two children.

Oh, I’d bury him alive alright. There was a story a few years back, about a farmer that accidentally got caught up on some railing and died in pig waste. Horrifying death to be sure. But even that would be too good for this dirt bag.

If this man doesn’t receive the death penalty….. 20 to life would be a vacation for him. For every life taken he should receive 50 years min. Any less would be unjustified. He wasn’t crazy, he proved that in planning the act. A crazy person would just go and do it! So we know it’s pre-mediatated.

Whether he gets the death penalty or not, someone needs to shoot him in the head right after the trial. If he gets the death penalty, he’ll be on death row for 20 years of appeals until enough time has passed that some moron will change it to a life sentence. Even if they do manage to zap him, he’ll have 20 glorious years of special treatment, food, fame, and marriage proposals.

Melika, I agree. The prisoners in the jail are waiting for him because he killed a child. On death row he will have a private cell and be protected at taxpayer expense. A life sentence would put him in the general population. With luck one of the other convicts will shank him in the mess hall before he gets too much older. He cannot possible die in enough pain to pay for his crimes.

This is absolutely heartbreaking!!! That woman has lost 2 children & is fighting for her own life. May God wrap his comforting & healing arms around her!! James Holmes deserves a terribly painful life. I hope he’s tortured in prison instead of being sheltered.

MAMA6, I truly believe that young Mr Holmes will torture himself either in prison or whatever secured funny farm they assign him to.

Rjjing – there is no way a self-centered psychopath like Holmes feels ANYTHING, much less remorse. People who have a conscience don’t do this kind of thing in the first place.

As for burying him alive, that is too good for him, unless there are insects to devour him slowly.
