Move to Texas Confirmed: Beck Announces He Will Open New Radio & TV Broadcast Facility in Dallas

Glenn Beck is moving to Dallas.

The news may not surprise his loyal listeners — the host has been dropping plenty of clues and for many months.

And there were a flurry of internet posts in the last week about some of the real estate in question.

But today, Beck confirmed that he and his family are relocating to Texas.

“I can’t wait,” Beck said during his radio broadcast.

He also announced that he will be opening new radio and television studios there.

“I’m moving to Dallas, Texas, and my family is there now, and I will be there shortly. We’re keeping our business, Mercury, in New York. Nobody is surprised by this, I’m sure. We have been planning for a long time.”

For a more detailed transcript click here.

Chris Balfe, President and COO of Beck’s Mercury Radio Arts, says the Texas facilities will not replace the company’s headquarters in Manhattan:

“Mercury is very excited to open a new radio & TV broadcast facility in
Dallas, TX. While Glenn will be spending much of his time there, we will
continue to maintain and grow our New York City offices and studios to
accommodate the talented staff we have assembled and will continue to

assemble here.”

A few weeks ago Beck announced the launch of his new GBTV.com broadcast site that will fully launch in September.

He will be hosting a two-hour television program from 5-7pm ET on the new site.

The announcement that there will be new broadcast studios in Texas makes it clear that the new GBTV operation will be a multi-city endeavor.

Beck is broadcasting this week from Israel as he prepares for the “Restoring Courage” events he has planned in Jerusalem the week of August 21st.

Early today Beck addressed Israeli lawmakers in a Knesset committee meeting.  You can see highlights of that address here.

I have a feeling there will be alot of people moving to TX, and you can’t blame them. It is one of the few states that seemingly has a clue; now if they could get their borders under control that would be even better. Don’t count FL out, either, we will dump Bill Nelson and Wasserman-Shultz in 2012 and that will be a giant step in the right direction. And good riddance!!!!

I’m a 72 year old born and bred TEXAN and I would like to extend my “Texas Welcome” to Glenn Beck and family as new residents in Texas. As MOST Americans already know, EVERYTHING IS THE BIGGEST AND THE BEST IN TEXAS. So why not have Glenn Beck’s new Radio and TV facilities in The Lone Star State ? Texans like honest people who tell the truth, say what they believe and believe what they say.

Glenn Beck’s unique and honest style of reporting is the biggest thing within the news media today and his new Texas radio and TV facilities should fit right in. However, a word of caution to the wise. It’s been aid, and truthfully so that, “Anyone can become an American but you have to be born a Texan”. Honorary Texas citizenships are awarded to some and I believe Gleen and family should apply. WELCOME TO TEXAS Glenn Beck and Family !

Why maintain and grow a NY City office?
Everyone thinks the World revolves around NY. It does NOT.
I would be damned if I’d stay there and continue to get taxed to death.
Guess Beck loves to be taxed to death. Go figure?
So NY City have a talented staff. Does this mean Texas don’t have talented people?
I alway heard you go where the jobs are. Move.
Sounds like politics to me since he wants “to grow” the NY City offices and studios, but is moving his family to Texas. For the time being?
But what da hey. I wish him well in his new endevours.

You seem to be a tad delusional in your haste to bury Beck. He‘s at the point now where he’s not going away, so you can continue to fight it with senseless comments, or you can make an argument about his points.

I agree totally, why stay in New York. Does anyone ever wonder why hamburgers cost $15 in New York and $6 in Atlanta and the rest of the country? It is a cesspool of taxes and payola for the politicians. Wall Street ought to move to Main Street. Glenn should close down his NY offices.

Glenn will be able to pay his taxes in NY with the savings he will have in Texas. I understand his loyalty to his employees in NY. Their families are there so even if Gleen moved them they would have same problem. Texas has no Income Tax! This is why J&J moved their corporate headquarters to Dallas/Ft.Worth.The nicest thing that will come out of the move is he can get a carry permit and be packing like most Texans.

The headline says he’s “moving” to Texas, but the article says it’s just an expansion. Comments aren’t pointing out the headline is inappropriate. Comments say that Cuomo and other NYorkers will be “angry” about this expansion to Texas. Angry? How come nobody notices that anger is a totally inappropriate response? Why do we relish seeing those we choose to give responsibility to display inappropriate responses in public? When is anger an appropriate response to a challenge?
