MSNBC Analyst on Shooting: Media Has ‘Behaved Pretty Well,’ but not Conservatives

On Tuesday morning’s “Morning Joe,“ MSNBC political analyst Mark Halperin summarized the recent response to the Arizona tragedy with the audacious claim that politicians and the media ”behaved pretty well.” But with one caveat: the “good behavior” can’t be extended to conservative commentators.

“I just want to single out one thing,” Halperin said. “I don’t want to over-generalize but I think the media and the politicians have behaved pretty well so far. The thing I’m most concerned about now is the anger on the right-wing commenatariat: on Fox, and George Will, and other conservatives are, in some cases justifiably upset at liberals. But they’re turning this right now, in the last 24 hours, back into the standard operating procedure of all of this is war and fodder for content, rather than trying to bring the country together.”

That caused host Joe Scarborough to do a double take: “Wait a second, Mark. I think they would say that you have that backwards. That a shooting was turned into fodder to attack conservatives.”

Halperin reached into the biblical analogy bag to respond. Conservatives, he said, just should have turned the other cheek: “They’re right. But rather than seizing on it and turning the other cheek, they are back at their war stations. And that’s not going to help us.”

    Once again, the issue has become the fact that The People are fighting back. The Sleeping Giant HAS been awakened… Mark Halperin is not upset that the liberal-left-MSM has made outrageous, hateful, biased, unfounded and WRONG accusations…he‘s mad that we’re fighting BACK!

    For a long time, the MSM told us what to think… the news was what THEY said it was. The ISSUES were what HOLLYWOOD told us they were. Today, The People have found their voice in FNC, in Beck and in all the other options across the conservative spectrum.

    The next step, and they will HAVE to take it is to muzzle us. They MUST go for censorship.. they MUST go for clearing the playing field and denying us access to the sources where we can hear the TRUTH. We need go no further than Mark Lloyd to hear that the next step in their marvelous revolution is to take control of the media and shut down the voice of opposition.

    We must stand united, stand for the Truth and stand for Peace.

      But, when they informed me of what happened in AZ. I knew. I just knew when I started to review it that the liberal media, before knowing anything, would be blaming everyone one on the right and not the killer, I already felt my stomach church. And that is just what happened. It was even more astounding than I could even have thought. ….And the stomach churneth.

    The thing that has made the greatest impression in the comentary on this horrific incident is that the calmest,sanest, most level-headed statements have been made by the parents of the nine year old girl who was killed. And they are the ONLY people with an excuse for making extreme, insane, vitriolic statements. The media and everyone even slightly to the left of center could learn a lesson in grace and dignity from Christina’s parents.

      I’m really becoming concerned about these people. It’s frightening to me that there are large numbers of people who have no morals, no sense of right and wrong, who are ambitious and bent on power. History demonstrates what happens when these types get power, but it’s always been one of those things that I told myself was “just the leadership, the rare type of person, the rest were just followers”.

      The more these people expose themselves, the more it becomes apparent to me that this has to be related to some kind of psychological disorder/mental disease. Not the “ideas” of the left, but the blatant sociopathic disregard for everything except “advance the ideology”.

Now I am pretty well convinced that it is. Notice that every breath of EVERY left winger is concentrated on red herrings surrounding this shooting. Flags at half staff in DC and a national moment of silence for a district judge? Where does THAT come from? In case they didn’t notice, the congresswoman is still alive. I hope the House leadership is not too distracted.

They have Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Lawrence ODonnell, Rachel Maddow and most of their guest are hatemongers such as Al Sharpton, Bill Press, Eugene Robinson, Richard Trumpka and folks from Moveon.org, The PCCC and The Daily Kos to name a few. They regularly have members from the Progressive Congressional Caucus , and a slew of Allan Grayson type politicians giving hateful opinions of Conservatives. They openly display a militant view of what should happen to those with an oppositional view point to theirs. Their in house RHINO Joe Scarborough wants to run in 2012 and takes every opportunity he can to cricify Palin and any other conservative that appears on Fox. They are so transparent and its almost psychotic in the way they believe their own dribble. They ran with this tragedy to make one of their imaginary points about rhetoric and its disgusting and shameful and they wonder why the conservative movement is growing?? I have been saying repeatedly that Glenneth and his gloom and doom, end times fear mongering and paranoid rants AND the choice of his sponsors (food storage, gun safes, gold etc.) have tarnished the image of conservatives in this nation. At least Rush has an overall humorous tone to his show and he doesn’t hammer away on fire and brimstone, armageddon-laced religious rants. Glenn has failed us all and crapped all over decades of our efforts to spread the conservative message. All so this ex-druggie, selfish, ghreedy bastard can have his big career and million-dollar life style. You people need to wake up and face reality. Beck is not doing us any good at all. Just watch what happens to Sarah Palin’s career now. Through her association with Beck, she is now reduced to a benched hate magnet with little credibility. I hope we can get the Governor of NJ, Mr. Christie, to replace her for the 2012 election.

I am POSITIVE that millions of other like-minded Americans, who LOVE this country because it stands for TRUTH, FREEDOM and JUSTICE, do not agree with you and probably are laughing out loud at your foolish notion that they actually spend their time each day being updated on FACTS (current and historical). In fact, as a former Democrat, after the very first show I watched of his, I ACTUALLY BEGAN TO UNDERSTAND how UNINFORMED I WAS. At first, it ticked me off and then I thought, “Well, I will watch for just 1 week to see how off-course Beck is.” It will give me something to fume about over the water cooler to my lib friends. Every single day, I wrote down what he said and looked up his historical accounts and information from our local library and the Internet. Lo and behold, I COULD NOT FIND ANY WRONG INFORMATION, ANALYSIS, OR FACTS that he presented about anything. I WAS SO DUMBFOUNDED and a bit pissed off as I am seldom wrong about people (mistrusts). Then, after a few days, it dawned on me that I was brainwashed by the liberal left to believe the LIE because when I went back to that watercooler, those lib so-called friends didn’t want to hear the truth and what I found (close-minded) and I then knew where I stood – I WAS BEING USED AGAIN. I knew I had to make a decision about ME and what I wanted. What was important to me. There was no doubt in my mind that me, my country (what it stands for), my family, and myself were absolutely the most important things in my life. Right then and there, I decided to be the best informed about our country as any of you out there. I was amazed when after taking Beck’s political persuasion test online, that I was a Libertarian. Too late. Democratgirl was already my ID, so here I am. I have been to 8/28, which truly proved to me what Americans really were, are, and are about to be. I have never met so many WONDERFUL, PATRIOTIC PEOPLE in all my life, and certainly not at the watercooler. I cannot find any fault with Glenn Beck and what you call, “Entertainment”. What I do find faulty are people LIKE YOU, who get on this board to STIR UP THE POT; to anger some, to exploit others. It is very sad, but thank goodness, I KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WHY YOU ARE DOING IT BECAUSE **I WAS YOU AT ONE TIME**. More and more Democrats and liberal-minded Americans are seeing the truth for what it is: TRUTH (which actually DOES set you free), which I doubt you know what that is since you feed off of chaos, discertainty and disagreement. Get it now, honcho, or do you NEED a better explanation of Beck fans?

      OK people, STOP RESPONDING TO BECKISNUTS. That is exactly what he wants you to do, EVIDENT by all the responses he is getting. WRITE HIM OFF AS A LIBERAL WHO IS INFILTRATING A CONSERVATIVE BOARD. So, JUST IGNORE HIM. Do NOT respond UNLESS you want more of his liberal diatribe. It is still a free country, so he can do whatever he wants. I figure sooner or later when people STOP responding to him, HE WILL GO AWAY – HOPEFULLY. Stop responding to him. I will not ANYMORE.

      MSNBC is the absolute worst. They spew hate daily. BOYCOTT anyone who advertises with them! BOYCOTT GE their parent company. If you do business with any advertiser or GE you are harming America. Who do you think the left wing nut job loughner listened to? Beck? Limbaugh? No way. He probably listen to MSNBC all day. They are making the case that they are to blame. But as with most liberals they suffer from below average intelligence and can’t connect the dots.

      I turned to CNN a couple times to see how they were reporting the tragedy in Arizona…and for the life of me I do not see where they are coming from with their reporting…just like I don’t get people like beckisnuts, whiteteaparty etc…I’m just glad there are way more common sense people out there then these loonies…cnn wouldn’t even mention that this guy had been a supporter of Ms. Gifford or the fact that all of his acquaintances thought he was dangerous…don’t know why I even try to get the other news outlets points of view because it always make me mad…no wonder nobody watches them…they are definetly not credible….

Well it’s time MSM and the progressives APOLOGIZE for THEIR slander for the last 3 days..       Beckisnuts is a troll. Any attempt to engage him in honest discussion will only waste your time and ours. Don’t sucker in to his insults and his elitist “I’m better than all of you, smarter than all of you, more educated than all of you, and more up on any topic (including those in which you may hold a Master’s or a Phd).” Same for Whiteteaparty, ABC (who is also JZS).       On a bad day, I would agree that some speech can contribute to violence.

      On a good day, I would tell you that pretending that any of us is any position determine where those lines are drawn is a dangerous road to travel down. It could cause us to conclude that its something the government should fix.

      On a better day, I would say that we individually need to be self governed and that considering the effect that our words have is good thing. Our parents taught us that and its not a bad lesson to revisit… while we’re at it of course, I’d like to make sure that we include ALL manners of speech… like some of those pop songs.

      On my best day (and I’m having one of those now), I would read through 99.9 percent of the hullabaloo over violent right wings rhetoric and describe it for what it is… a politically motivated whine that is part of a leftist narrative designed to steal back the momentum.

      Maybe MSNBC’s particular whine is in that 0.1 percent. I’ll be prepared to discuss with them on a better day.
