MSNBC Commentator Mocks Palin for Reading C.S. Lewis for ‘Divine Inspiration’

First they mock her for not telling them what she reads. Now they mock her for telling them exactly what she reads.

But the fact that C.S. Lewis’ works have not-so-subtle Christian undertones is apparently lost on MSNBC commentator Richard Wolffe who mocks former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for claiming his books were a source of “divine inspiration.” (Perhaps Wolffe subscribes to this theory?)

Daily Caller reports:

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Hardball” with Chris Matthews, Wolffe expressed incredulity, noting that Lewis wrote “a series of kids’ books.”

Matthews interrupted Wolffe: “I wouldn’t put down C.S. Lewis.”

“I’m not putting him down,” Wollfe responded. “But you know divine inspiration? There are things she could’ve said to divine inspiration. Choosing C.S. Lewis is an interesting one.”

Note to Richard Wolffe: Lewis wrote much more than “a series of kids’ books.” I suggest you read some of them sometime.

    C. S. Lewis is an amazing genius whom I love and read regularly. His works – fiction and nonfiction –are absolutely fascinating and great literature, so why mock Palin for reading an author who is so respected and renowned? The man taught at Oxford and Cambridge, was extremely successful in his writings, and continues to influence many people today. It is senseless to denigrate Palin for reading C. S. Lewis!

Biden, in their debate. Sarah Palin exposed the Death Panels. Sarah Palin got a lot of Tea Partiers elected. Sarah Palin did, and is still doing, great things for Alaska. Sarah Palin made David Letterman look like what he is – a jack-assed idiot.

He just mocked “Mere Christianity” as a children’s book. From wikipedia:
In 2006, Mere Christianity was placed third in Christianity Today’s list of the most influential books amongst evangelicals since 1945. The title has influenced Touchstone Magazine: A Journal of Mere Christianity and William Dembski’s book Mere Creation. Charles Colson’s conversion to Christianity resulted from his reading this book, as it did to Francis Collins, Josh Caterer and the philosopher C. E. M. Joad.

We had a cpmplete unknown running for the president in 2008. The media tried to hide or bury EVERYTHING about the “Speech Giver”. MSNBC as far as I am am concerned is the Howard Stern of TV. It does and says anything to get people to watch. Shock TV. The NEWS worthy story is why are many in the so called media OBSSESED with the Palins? Why are they so HATEFULL to a teenage girl whose mother was the one that ran for office. The real NEWS stories of the day can only be told so often in the 24/7 time slots of cable news. So alot of the time has to be filled with Olbermans and Maddows. The big difference in Fox and MSNBC is that MSNBC is very HATEFULL. Sure Fox has a couple of shows that are definetly Right leaning but they are tastefull and NOT about hurtfull attacks on people but attacks on POLICY!!! So why to you think the ratings are so onesided. The majority of Americans can smell rude, HATE and obnoxious a mile away!!!

C.S. Lewis was a great Christian intellectual philosopher.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience”.
