MSNBC Host Analyzes Romney Speech By…Blasting His Use of Teleprompters

Following Mitt Romney’s speech after he was declared the winner in the New Hampshire Primary, the cable news networks began breaking down the results.

MSNBC‘s Rachel Maddow was anchoring that channel’s coverage and asked “Last Word” host Lawrence O‘Donnell what he thought of the Romney’s speech. O’Donnell did not speak to anything Romney said in the speech. Instead, he chose to mock Mitt Romney for using a teleprompter.

The remainder of O‘Donnell’s anti-Romney rant still said nothing relating to what the GOP front-runner said in his speech. Lawrence O’Donnell dedicated his entire time to classifying the actions taken by Romney during his time at Bain Capital.

Curiously, I cannot recall MSNBC ever mentioning President Obama’s constant use of the teleprompter, and how uncomfortable he can appear when speaking in public with out it.

How do you feel about politicians using teleprompters in public appearances?

He actually used the words “America” and “beautiful” in the same sentence, clearly a hate crime. I‘m surprised he diidn’t choke to death.

  Mitt Romney made an oath in the Temple to avenge the US government’s treatment of Joseph Smith. The plan hatched by the LDS Church is to get people elected to public office, ruin the economy, and destroy people’s faith in the Constitution. After this happens and the country is on the brink of failure, Jesus will return (to Missouri???) to take over and rule the world. The LDS puts in just enough real Christianity to sound OK to the gullible.They also believe that when they “return” to Heaven they will have multiple wives and they will have millions of “spirit children” who will wait for their chance to populate a planet. Romney will be the “god ” of his planet and the “spirit children” will worship him. The mormons believe that they were “God the Father’s” spirit children and when they die they will not go to Heaven, they will “return” to Heaven.They believe that anything the leader says in the Temple is absolute truth and is immediately written into their Scripture. That’s where the protective underwear and the ban on caffeine came from along with some other really weird beliefs. They only allowed black men to enter the Temple a few years ago. They were ordered by the government to stop poligamy so the leader went into the Temple and declared that it is now wrong. It’s the perfect religion for make-it-up-as-you-go. Only a couple of candidates for the upcoming presidential term are quick enough to do their own work well . . . Santorum and Gingrich. Everyone else needs a group of advisors crafting responses to the teleprompter for them . . . and they still fall flat.

  mike n: I agree with you wholeheartedly! Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are articulate and wise and don’t need anyone putting words in their mouths. They have plenty of good things to say on their own. Words WE CAN TRUST.
  I was quite humored that Romney used a teleprompter…no doubt to choose his words carefully from now on so no one will make fun of him again (in regards to his liking to fire people…though I understood what he meant when he said it).
  I thought of Mr. Romney this morning when I was reading Malachi 3: 5 where it says that God is against those that defraud laborers of their wages. It comforted me to know that God cares when people are treated ruthlessly, and He will judge the one who wrongs them. Using what appears to be corrupt practices in capitalism to gain wealth will not set well with a lot of Americans, though those at Fox don’t seem to think so as they keep pushing Romney at all cost while continuing to belittle Newt.

Romney speaks from a speech writer just like Obama does, one is a commie, the other a democrat. The news media and the GOP establishment has anointed Romney from the get go, the thinking is, voters who are soured on OBama will vote for Romney and the conservative evangelical vote will have no choice but to vote for Romney. WRONG! This one is not voting for Obama nor Romney! No Ron Paul either! I’ll stay home or vote for a real conservative, win or lose!

  It’s sickening to me to see the political machinery behind Romney. He looks like as much as a puppet to the organization around him as OB is. He looks like a deer in the headlights most of the time, wondering which way to turn before that oncoming object runs them down. Unfortunately, sometimes they end up as hood ornaments! I just don’t get a sense of real backbone there. We need someone who knows the terrain and has the guts to fight for what makes sense. I like Newt and Santorum.
