MSNBC Host, Dem Rep Accuse GOP of Sabotaging Economy to Beat Obama in 2012

The Republicans “want chaos,” Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., announced on MSNBC Friday. According to McDermott, the GOP’s “hidden agenda” is to keep unemployed Americans out of work and to destroy existing jobs in a grand scheme to make voters blame President Obama, thus ushering in a Republican president in 2012. (Yeah, like the GOP is that organized.)
Everything the GOP does in the next 24 months, McDermott insists, is solely meant to undermine Obama who is apparently leading the charge to get the country’s private sector back to work. Bad Republicans, bad!

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 9:35amLiberalism is a mental disorder. McDermott’s anti-American bias has kept him from being relevant for years. He knows that if the unions are not fed hundreds of millions of dollars and in turn relay those dollars to the demonrats, they may not be able to buy enough votes to maintain any semblance of power. His insanity has become comical.

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 9:28amThis is rich…. especially after giving billions of dollars to the unions over the last two years. No doubt Mr. McDermott will say that he only cares about the American people and doesn’t care if Obama is re-elected.

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 9:24amNormal part of the left wing’s standard strategy. They adopt policies which kill an economy and then blame the center right for having “sabotaged” the economy or “economic crimes”. Seen this all before elsewhere in the world. Check the USSR, check Jamaica in the late 1970s for two examples.

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 8:51amYes, the Democrats had Super Majority for two years, they did what exactly?
Was it the GOP that ignored the American people while they rammed “Obamacare” thru?
Was it the GOP that ignored the job situation when people lost homes, and savings?
Was it the GOP that thought “DADT” was more important than the economy?
Was it the GOP that wasted all that money on the Stimulus Projects, you know, the money that went to pork, waste, fraud and Unions?
For those who think this dribble about the GOP is true, see DNC Chairman Kaine’s remarks on CNN. He said, and I quote “Barrack Obama was too busy to worry about the economy in the first two years of his Presidency”.
Now for this tool to come out and point the fingers shows that they are desperate to have someone to blame for the job situation.
Of course, he has a sliver of a point. The Republican Party needs to stop worrying about Abortion and Birth Certificates and Impeachment and work on one thing – JOBS! Never mind everything else, except “ObamaCare” which is a jobs killer and needs to go.
All other priorities should be shelved for now, and a plan should be drawn up for the economy starting the day after the election in 2012.

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 9:05amThe federal government has NO ability to create jobs (except for government jobs)! Only an unshackled free market can create revenue producing jobs. Government jobs create only one thing… debt to the taxpayers. Some government is absolutely necessary, but when the numbers side with the public financed sector, you have a financial spiral against the economy and thus give more power to the ruling class. It’s always been a progressive movement goal of a giant pyramid scheme. … and now it’s collapsing without new investors (taxpayers) to support it.
Report Post »teachermitch32
Posted on March 5, 2011 at 10:18amChickenlittle,
I had not heard anyone describe their tactic exactly as a pyramid sceme before. You are absolutely right to compare it in this manner. In order for those benefiting from the influx of funds, one must nessesarily find new partakers to invest in the sceme, hence more funds. Those benefiting from the influx would be the progressives and poeple dependent on thier entitlements. Those new partakers, in this case, would be us (the taxpayer) funneling more $ into the sceme. There never is, according to their sceme, anything actually produced, sold, serviced, etc. This is exactly like a pyramid sceme.

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 10:47amThey started a couple of years ago. See, I’ve always found it to be true that when people accuse you falsely, or ascribe motives to your actions, it is because it is what they do. In other words, think back to how the economy tanked just before the last presidential elections. Things were fine, economically, so the Dems and their puppydog media started a stealth campaign to inflict fear in the investors. They hammered for months how the economy was beginning to go south. It worked. The investors started to get worried and some began to take their money out of the stock market. That brought the averages down to where the automatic withdraws began, and the rest is history. The Dems did that on purpose, and since it worked so well, they are now accusing the Republican of trying the same stunt. Problem is, the Republicans are honest people for the most part, and would never ride with the Dems mantra: “the end justifies the means.” It does not. Republicans have something the Dems don’t, integrity. So, we know these asinine charges by the Dems are false, but only made because the Dems feel the Republicans are as dirty as they are.

Arlen Spector left the GOP precisely for this reason. He said – on Fox News Sunday – that right after the 2008 election, the GOP leadership decided that their only path back to power was to oppose and undermine EVERY EFFORT made by Obama to help the economic recovery and to get any work on behalf of the American people done.
The GOP are the enemies of the American middle and working classes – if that isn‘t obvious you aren’t paying attention to current or past history..

Posted on March 5, 2011 at 9:00amFor this news item to be valid, Mr. Obama’s policies would have to be good for the economy. Yet, all llhis initiatives either damage the economy, reward his political cronies or both. Look at how Obama’s policies have caused the price of energy to increase.
Do you actually believe that Mr. Obama is actually trying to improve the economy? In recent history, almost all coups, resulting in a dictatorship were preceded by a very severe economic crisis. Is that economic crisis Mr. Obama’s objective? Remember when Rahm Emanuel , Obama’s chief of staff, stated one should never waste a crisis. What do you think he meant? You should be very afraid!
Mr. Obama presents 3 alternatives:
• Ignorance, which can be cured with knowledge
• Stupidity, which is forever
• Evil, he plans to avenge King George III by destroying the American Revolution and create a dictatorship.
Almost every initiative that Obama has instigated is destructive to the economy. Does anyone really believe that a President can be that stupid or ignorant? The video from December 2009 was Specter trying to cover his a$$ before the 2010 election. Cause and effect. Get it? Weasel like effort to explain treacherous behavior a$$ handed to you in next election.
Secondly; Boehner in February said “Over the last 2 years since President Obama has taken office the Federal Government has added 200,000 new federal jobs. and If some of those jobs are lost in this then so be it“ It is disingenous to make the connection between cost cutting measures that will affect Government jobs and the ”American working person” which I have to assume is a back handed reference to the public sector.. By the way, Isn’t it interesting that there was an increase in hiring after the bush tax cuts were extended. You really should be a little more prepared before throwing around ad hominem attacks on the Blaze.
“Ad hominem attacks are often used in a debate or discussion where the speaker wishes to avoid the substance of the discussion and instead resorts to smearing the character of their opponent.
It is considered a logical fallacy and is one of the modes of spreading propaganda.” thefreedictionary.com

Dear Kook,
First things first. Arlen Specter left the GOP because he’s an opportunistic little weasel. ……
You really should be a little more prepared before throwing around ad hominem attacks on the Blaze.
“Ad hominem attacks are often used in a debate or discussion where the speaker wishes to avoid the substance of the discussion and instead resorts to smearing the character of their opponent.”
LOL – thanks for clearing that up, sir.

The GOP budget plan would cost 700,000 jobs, reports Lori Montgomery: “A Republican plan to sharply cut federal spending this year would destroy 700,000 jobs through 2012, according to an independent economic analysis set for release Monday. The report, by [the infamous Socialist...heh heh] Moody’s Analytics chief economist Mark Zandi, offers fresh ammunition to Democrats seeking block the Republican plan, which would terminate dozens of programs and slash federal appropriations by $61 billion over the next seven months. Zandi, an architect of the 2009 stimulus package who has advised both political parties, predicts that the GOP package would reduce economic growth by 0.5 percentage points this year, and by 0.2 percentage points in 2012, resulting in 700,000 fewer jobs by the end of next year.”

Report Post »Are you really this blind? Look at the budgets passed or proposed under Obama. How many really have jobs in mind? If the last two really had jobs in mind, then we wouldn’t be at 8.9% unemployment. Two years is plenty of time to turn a “sinking ship” around. Spending isn’t the answer. Investment can only be performed by an entity that produces something. So, name me one thing that the Federal Government actually produces(for sale, as in a service or product) that renders ANY profit. I can give you some that they “run”, but they all run on a deficit. Amtrak, their own cafeteria, and Medicare to name a few. Add in Fannie, Freddie, and SSDI and WOW they suck. I would rather let the market forces decide, than let an entity with such a horrible track record spend the money.

Report Post »Lets see between food stamps and oil
Less than 10% of Americans actually NEED food stamps
Less than 99% of Americans actually NEED oil, hmmm. Bad example to choose there. However, I agree with you. NEITHER should be supported by the Federal government. There are plenty of churches, food banks, and other things that can be used to help those that need food. If we would drill here, then we wouldn’t need to subsidize oil, since they would be making a profit locally(not to mention the 1000′s of jobs created). While on the subject, we should do away with “green energy” subsidy, let the market decide. Quit subsidizing our farming, and while we are at it, let all the business things(like amtrak, Fannie, Freddie, school loan programs, post office, et al) be run by the private sector, and if they fail, LET THEM FAIL. We are supporting so much “dead wood”, like bailing out AIG and the auto companies, that our economy is drowning.
