MSNBC Host Openly Mocks Gay Conservative in On-Air Interview

“Why on God’s green earth are you a Republican?” MSNBC’s Cenk Uygur asked GOProud chairman Christopher Barron. Instead of discussing the recent denunciation of his group by other conservative organizations — which is likely why Barron was invited on to speak in the first place — the MSNBC “interview” consisted only of Uygur mocking and laughing at Barron to his face, dismissing the notions that someone could be both gay and conservative (apparently being gay is the only issue Uygur thinks gays care about) and that conservatives are a “welcoming” crowd.

How very tolerant of him…

“I have an easier time being openly gay with conservatives than I do being a conservative with other gay people,” Barron said.

    When did The YOUNG TURKS Shmuck, liberal, pantywaste get a job at PMSNBC? I believe that DADT told everyone in the military to “shut the hell up, and mind your own PRIVATE business.” GOPROUD’s Mr. Barron was defending his privacy and even mentioned that he didn‘t believe that GOV’T needs to step in and parade his sexual proclivaties around. Conservatism is a way of life, and Republicans are merely a title. I could be wrong, but I dare say that the GoProud is welcoming to non-homosexuals.

    The boy said “I was born gay.” BS alert BS alert !!.. He was born a sinner no doubt, just like myself and you the reader.       Do you believe being gay is a choice? Sounds like you do. Well, my friend, i’m not gay but i believe it is how some people are born. The reason i believe this is because, unlike you, i could never choose to be gay. I could do it. Period. But you, on the other hand, must have some sort of gay leanings in you if you think it would be possible to just “decide” to be gay. I have noticed that the people who get the most angry about gays are people like you who probably are gay but refuse to aknowlege it. You need to come out of the closet and be true to yourself.

      I have heard it said that you cannot tell your heart who to love. But I am a Christian who believes that the Holy Bible is the infallible Word of God and when The Almighty says something is wrong (an abomination), I take Him at His Word. Believing in God‘s stand on homosexuality does not make one a ’closet gay’ anymore than standing in a library makes one a scholar. And here is the hypocrisy of the left…they bash conservative Christians for their stand on homosexuality, but say nothing to muslims for their stand…which is exactly the same, except we don’t call for them to be executed.

      hey sistah psycho, “Internment is the imprisonment or confinement of people, commonly in large groups, without trial. It also refers to the practice of neutral countries in time of war in detaining belligerent armed forces and equipment in their territories under the Second Hague Convention.” Gitmo, pretty close to a “modern-day internment.”

All Americans have the right, so far, to lean in any political direction they wish without being mocked for it. I don’t mock Cenk Uygur for his politcal leanings but I do pity him for what must be a miserable life.     conservatives form my experience, though they dont agree with the lifestyle gays have chosen to live, dont hate. hate is a liberal issue, and always has been. conservatives on the other hand, can disagree without the hate, and come together on the issues that matter.

    the whole problem conservatives have with the gay movement, is some people want to force us to accept, teach our kids it A- OK, and remove parents ability to teach our children our morals and standards as we see fit……….this is exampled numerous times in the effort being put into our school curriculum and entertainment programming.

    as i see it, the correct terminology concerning conservatives and gays is dont ask dont tell

    we dont agree with it, we dont want to hear about what goes on in your bedroom, and we hold everyone to this standard, gay or straight.

    if the majority of the democratic black population truly understood the political history of the democrats, and contemplate democratic policy and how is truly affects their neighborhoods and families, they would never vote democrat again.

    Humm, they are kind of caught in the middle. I don’t agree with the gay agenda, and Goproud is for the gay agenda. if they gave that up then that is another story. I hope the gay agenda is defeated all the time. I don’t equate my hate for the gay agenda with homosexuals. The gay agenda is an agenda, and homosexuals are people. I don’t know if anyone else can understand that, and I am not sure I can explain it well enough either. I do not condone nor support Homosexuality as I have personal experience of its destruction to family, society, and it’s inherent dangers to an individual.       I am proud to have him on our side also. I also agree that your lifestyle is your business. I disagree with the thought that anyone can play a game with morality. Man does not dictate morality, God does. It is what it is. Those of us who try to force non-believers to live to God’s morals are doing a disservice though. I can only stand for what I know is right but I cannot force you to believe it. I will, however, vote according to my beliefs, just as you must too. But isn’t that what makes this country so great?

      Exactly why Homosexuals are welcome to Conservatism. Maybe not to the neo-con religious right version but to the concept and ideals of liberty and freedom for all. A true lover and believer of liberty would look beyond our differences and say that we are all American. We live in a country that’s core belief is freedom. You may not agree with eachother but you can agree that we are free to live our lives the way we want to, not the way the Progressives, Big Government or your neighbor wants us to.

      I agree with you, Patriot- we are the party of limited government, free markets and personal liberty and responsibility. My favourite line of this interview is Mr. Barron saying that he feels much more comfortable and accepted as a gay man among Conservatives than he does as a Conservative man among other gays. I think that the fact that many of us are Christian and therefore as non-judgmental as we can be as mere human beings, contributes to our accepting nature. We try to abide by the golden rule and the commandments and I like to think that the same is true for all Americans, whatever their religion or faith, who also try to live their lives by these same basic principles. Common courtesy and respect for human dignity used to be the norm- I think we can all agree that this would be a great time for a comeback.

      PCBEDAMNED, please don’t say “we”. Conservative doesn’t mean “Christian” ever time, and though yes, there are anti-gays in the conservative movement, not all of us are, not by far. I consider the anti-gays fringe in fact, so don’t use the all-inclusive “we” to make your point. I served in the Marine Corps and always felt that gays should be allowed to serve this great nation if they felt the calling as I did. I also feel they should be allowed to enter into a social contract to enjoy the same privileges as married couples. AND I believe it is a matter for each church to decide whether their religion allows gays to be married, NOT the state. (can‘t believe THAT issue hasn’t come before the supreme court)

      This whole thing has me bordering on a loss for words. I barely know where to start.
      PC Be Damned – If you actually carry that much hate in your heart, it cannot be good for you. My 2 cents.
      When, and if, God himself touches me and appoints me as his equal or appoints me as surrogate, I would then feel it appropriate to judge my fellow humans. Until then, I stand by the simple premise that we ALL have but one judge. We, as humans, are all so far from perfect that we have VERY little right, or capacity, to judge ANYONE.
      This segment is further proof that the progressive party of “tolerance” is nothing but a shallow display of self – righteousness and exclusion.
      As a conservative, I feel it important to be inclusive, if one’s philosophies hew to the Founding Fathers and the Constitution.
      Our country’s greatness, diminishing though it may be, is a result of acceptance and inclusion.
      There are laws against bestiality, child molestation, etc. Laws of the USA.
      The rules, and enforcement of them, within one’s religion are to be dealt with WITHIN THAT RELIGION, until and unless they conflict with the LAW OF THE LAND.
      This is why Sharia Law is so dangerous. There is no distinction between Church and State. They are, by necessity, one and the same.
      If this man feels more comfortable being a conservative, hey, more power to him , and his organization.
      Bring the firepower. Please enlighten me if I am off the reservation.
      Once again, my 2 cents.

      You see, to the narrow minded lib progressives, conservative only means Christian, or even worse, Catholic. Therefore limited federal government as a conservative plank = Christian…BAD. Liberty and freedom as a conservative plank = Christian…BAD. It seems the only way they can find listeners is the “shock value” of what is being said on air and twitter.       I don’t care if you are tolerant towards homosexuals. You don’t have to be. This is America and the land of the free. You don’t have to support or like them or their decisions but you have to respect them as individuals in a free country. The core of a Conservative, you’re suppose to believe in small government and less intrusiveness into individual lives. Gays should be welcomed in a Conservative movement. It shouldn’t matter who you are or what you do, as long as you support individual liberty, including the liberty of sexual preference, you can be considered a Conservative.

      The problem is most conservative bring their emotions to the table too often. I understand your religion says homosexuality is wrong but that’s for them to deal with and for your God to judge when they pass away. In this world, who are you to judge them? Those without sin cast the first stone, right? All sin is equal in the eyes of the Lord, right? How about you let them live their lives, even if you think they’re damning themselves to hell when they die, and promote individual liberty for EVERYONE not just those you agree with.

      The reason I ask is this. I’m a straight man. I love women. I have never had a thought about another man that I do with a women and I cannot see myself ever having those desires. That’s why I believe you are born that way. In order for someone to believe that it’s a choice that same individual must believe that they hold that capacity to make that choice. If you do not believe you hold the capacity to make such a sexual preference, then you are being a hypocrite saying that others do. How the hell do you know what others are capable of choosing? Only YOU know what YOU are capable of choosing. So if you believe that homosexuality is a choice you MUST believe that you are capable of making that choice.       What the hate filled left can’t wrap their brains around is that the conservatives are MOSTLY God fearing Christians. I didn’t say ALL, I said MOST. And we do love the sinner but hate the sin. That is why we welcome homosexuals into our groups. The left just hates. They are exposed.

      All these groups are being taken advantage of by the progressives. They are being used and don’t know it. They should wise up and come over to the tea party people. We should see how we can accept them into the tea party movement. We have a bigger enemy to take care of the “progressives”.
