MSNBC Host Outraged After George Zimmerman’s Lawyer Allegedly Walks Out of Interview

If you ever want to get under MSNBC Host Lawrence O‘Donnell’s skin, just cancel an interview last minute and walk out. That’s allegedly what Craig Sonner, the Lawyer for Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman, did Monday night. And O‘Donnell wasn’t happy about it.

According to O’Donnell, Sonner was scheduled to be on the show, but just minutes before he was set to be on, he walked out of the studio in Orlando. O’Donnell laced into him for it:

Craig Sonner has been the first guest in the history of this particular show, to get scared, to be terrified, so terrified of coming on this show that he has literally run away. He’s in our car right now, taking him home from our studio, afraid to face the questioning he would face on this show. Watch out for wherever Craig Sonner shows up next on television, because wherever he shows up next on television has an obligation to put him through serious questioning about what he’s doing and what he knows, and the contradictions in the things he’s already said on television.

In fact, HuffPo says, O’Donnell even later switched to an empty shot of the interview chair and started questioning it:

  • “Who is paying you, Mr. Lawyer?”
  • “Does George Zimmerman have a job?”
  • “Did you represent him when he was arrested for assault on a police officer in 2005?”
  • “Your client was not injured enough to go to the hospital that night. You say he sought some sort of medical treatment the next day. Do you have those medical records that you can show us?”

      And why is this being allowed to be framed as a white on black? It’s latino on black at best, why are we letting them frame this.
      It’s tragic at best no one knows what really happened as it stands. But for anyone to allow (and I do mean Mr Fast and Furious) who is supposed to be the chief justice dept official to protect all Americans to allow threats and bounties on an American citizen by so called Americans, and not place those persons under arrest you can see more and more clarity of what is going on.

      It looks like a media lynching. They should not be trying this case in public. If this were CSI, all of the evidence would be in a box, but this is not a CSI episode. It only makes it harder to get a real jury. Everybody wants to try the case as if the facts supported their preconceived notion of what the facts should be. Are they now saying that you really were not in fear of your life or you were not really in danger or no self defense is legitimate unless you had to go to the hospital as a result of the first hit? What did the lawyer think was going to happen? I don’t think the interview was for the purpose of finding out the truth.

      That is correct on the – They. In th early 90′s at J&J I had a female counterpart who was the President of the NAACP. When ever I had to see her in her office she was always on the phone talking NAACP business and she got a paycheck while I had to pick up her projects. Every time I see this mother, or even some of the race-baiters on TV talking about this case, I have always questioned why they keep saying “THEY killed my son rather than HE killed my son.” Who is THEY? I guess it’s whoever the leftist want to demonize at the time. First Zimmerman was called a white man. Then after constant questioning of this term by the right the media changed it, but not to Hispanic man but White-Hispanic. I guess Obama is no longer the first BIack President, but the first White-Black President.

      I’m not convicting anyone of murder Momrules, I was commenting on HOOPSGULSH’s ridiculous criticism of Treyvon’s mother’s choice of words shortly after her son was gunned down. From her perspective, I wouldn’t be surprised if she felt at that point that her son was murdered, and considering Zimmerman wasn’t even taken in for questioning, imagine the outrage she must have felt. Any parent would feel the same outrage if that happened to their own child, including you, so why don’t you stop with the conspiracy theories and show a little empathy for a fellow mother or parent.

      One of the things that I have no heard explained is “why was this person in this private neighborhood to start with, which is gated I understand, dressed as a suspicious character”, is that not enough to get watched? It would appear that he was after a confrontation which is what he got. I think there is more to this story than has been told.

      @Majasdad: Perhaps you should check out the original police report, it is on line.

      Upon arriving, George was disarmed, cuffed, and stuffed in the patrol car. He also went on record immediately, ignoring his right to remain silent. After interviewing the witnesses, the cops brought George downtown to HQ and questioned further.

      It was the local District Attorney which ordered the police to release George, stating that there was not enough EVIDENCE to charge him, and therefore to hold him further would be a crime against him.

      @majasdad: Perhaps if you had read the original police report which is available online, you would have the facts. George was questioned. Actually he was arrested. That’s right. Upon arriving on the scene, the cops disarmed him, cuffed him, stuffed him (in the squad car). Zimmerman ignored his right to remain silent and made certain statements then and there.

      After the police QUESTIONED 8 WITNESSES, they brought George downtown for FURTHER QUESTIONING.

      It was the local DISTRICT ATTORNEY who ORDERED the Sanford PD to release George because there was not enough evidence to CHARGE HIM with a crime according to the law.

      It was the ignorant media circus which caused the Police Chief to step down. He didn’t want riots and stepped down without having made any mistake.

      If you don’t want to cooperate in the madness, perhaps you should educate yourself more before commenting?

      I was about to post the exact same response after watching that video “THEY”, “THEY”. “THEY”. If a white person said “You people,” when taking to a black congressmen, all hell would break loose because “you people” was used and the assumption was “you people” was used to point a finger at blacks when the intended issue was the congressmen. I do feel sorry for these parents and something doesn’t look right with this Zimmerman. I am a peace officer and if a street cop said to me back off, I would back off immediatly unless I saw him committing a horrendous crime. I have the feeling that Zimmerman was a wantabe cop, just like Sharpton and Jackson are wantabe reverends. I want to see JUSTICE to, but not buy a black panther $10,000 lynch mob or for that fact by police officers that may or may not have a bias for this Zimmerman. I want to SEE REAL JUSTICE. The truth will set you free.

      Right, and that’s the responsible thing to do to ensure one’s deceased child’s name isn’t exploited in a way one considers unworthy of his or her memory. Any parent in the same horrific situation would have done the same thing (can’t speak for you though).
      Even according to Glenn Beck’s GBTV snippet, Trayvon Martin’s mother said the family had no profit motives with regard to the trademark application; all she wanted to do was to “protect the intellectual property rights to Projects that will assist other families who experience similar tragedies”. That sounds pretty honorable to me.

Why is THAT NOT ALL OVER THE HEADLINES? Sounds like a HATE CRIME to me??? There are SO MANY LIKE THIS, yet where is this same OUTRAGE, I ask?       Or how about the case where a Marine Sergeant was tied up, forced to watch 3 black men commit rape and sodomy on his wife, and then forced to watch her be executed before himself being executed? The difference between black people and white people is that we treat people as individuals and don‘t riot over a single individual’s actions.

      Yes Equal you nailed it. That travesty and murder you cited is irrelevant because it does not divide and fan the flames of a pending race war that Obummer is itching for and being coached to sponsor (especially just prior to the election so there is a chance it will be halted). The best way to incite a race war is to make the white race awful and the reason for all of the blacks challenges. Were Al, Spike and Jesse outraged about the story you brought to our attention? Only now is it coming out about how this Martin kid conducted his life. The picture they put up is of a little innocent looking kid…..he is/was seventeen…wearing a hoodie…..at night……twitter name was interesting.       Agree. The photos they released of the young Martin ( what ? no baby pictures ? ) , the involvement of the New Black Panther Party, and the appearances of rabid Al Sharpton and the ever bloviating Jesse make me register: sham and Rush to Judgement. Sorry for the parents’ loss and of a life ended so young, but this entire matter reminds me of the Duke La Crosse mess and the Tawana Brawley mess. Media manipulation and Race baiting. Especially because it is happening in Florida which is an Obama hotspot in the election.

      She might have meant the people from Peru killed her son, but I don’t think so. Maybe the system killed him? Maybe he over reacted to being followed by Zimmerman not knowing Zimmerman was armed. Whole thing might have been one big mess where no one was acting out of malice or had racial overtones. His death is seen by some as a metaphor for white dominance. Others see it as a isolated incident having no over reaching meaning. The truth is in the eye of the beholder. But it is their truth. The Courts will weigh in with its’ truth at some point but in the end a son was lost and another mans life is in tatters.

      MASTERJANITOR, I do have cable, and I watch what I want. Usually not BSNBC. or CNN news, or the three letter broadcast channels for their news. But, BSNBC has to be one of the best comedy channels on TV today. They really crack me up to the point that my sudden belly laughs frighten the cats.
