MSNBC Host Scarborough Unleashes on Beck: ‘Losing it Before Our Eyes’

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this morning, host Joe Scarborough delivered a scathing rant against Glenn Beck. According to Scarborough, Glenn is “losing it before our eyes” and is “bad for the conservative movement.”
“He’s bad for the Republican party. He’s bad for Fox News. It’s that simple,” Scarborough said, referring specifically to Glenn’s recent work to uncover the socialists, progressives, and unions behind the unrest in Egypt and Wisconsin.
Guest commentator Pat Buchanan added that Republicans have a “responsibility and a duty” to make sure Beck isn’t speaking for conservatives.
Scarborough refers to a recent blog post by conservative writer Peter Wehner calling Glenn, “The most disturbing personality on cable television.” I talk to Pete from time to time and have a good deal of respect for his analysis most of the time. I found his most recent posts on Glenn, however, to be pretty shallow. It’s a popular sport to make dramatic denunciations of Beck themes without really engaging in a discussion of the arguments.
I’ve been involved in mainstream conservative thought and politics for 25 years and I can assure you that Wehner and Scarborough are mounting a very weak case. I’ve worked with many top conservative leaders and politicians. Glenn is about as thoughtful and sincere in his approach to political argument as anyone I’ve met. The depth and range of discussion around the Mercury and Blaze offices is the most interesting and electrifying of any place I’ve worked.

Determine what your customers want and then give it to them. Instead, they just attack the guys with the biggest ratings. It wouldn‘t have anything to do with the fact that there is truth to what Glenn says or that some of his outragious predictions have actually ’gasp’ come true. I’d love to see an episode on the Glenn Beck show where he lists his predictions, the reactions, the reality of what happened. Sometimes life is stranger than fiction and Glenn has the guts to bare himself to ridicule for what he believes is for the good of the country.

Posted on February 25, 2011 at 5:28pmDawg I give you an F for your take on history…….Nazi were the other side of the communist coin…the SA which actually believed that the worker would run things in Nazi Germany and were very similar to the communists when it came to doctrine had the rug pulled out from under them by A H(ole) himself…what happened was a deal was struck between the Army and Hilter that in order to secure the oath of obedience from the Wehrmacht, they demanded the disbandment of the SA and the liquidation of key members of the SA leadership (Earnst Rohm among many others SP ?) ….Hilter needing the Armie’s backing to complete the power grab followed through on his pact which resulted in the so called incident of “night of the long knives”.
Of course this is just a small fraction of the intrique that ensued from 33 to 37 while Hilter dodged and weaved all manner of issue and threat (not a lot of real political ideology went into governing the country as it turned out) …the point is NAZI party had core elements of socialism when it suited there purpose but they also believed that certain classes of folk could retain ownership of businesses and proptery as long as they would play ball with the NAZI party. Breaking up the established military industrial complex Hilter prolised big buisness ran against pure Communist doctrine. That kind of forced transfer would only waste valuable time and cause massive production inefficiencies, Hilter was no dummy when it came to be practical whenh it called for it. The Communists on the other hand were hard core idealists which the Army nor the Industrialists and the Aristocrats would never back…that and the sworn enemy of Hilter back in the days of post WWI Germany by the fledging NAZI party headed up by Lundendorf, Goering, Goebbels and Hilter had many running battles with the Communist’s on the streets of Munich. It helps to foment “nationalism” while fighting a common enemy…in a sense the people would have to choose a “lesser of two evils”. The real meat behind the movement was fueld by two events, one very real, that embittered the German people as a whole (the Army especially) and the other a prejudice whipped up and used as a scapegoat for the loss of WWI….what am I talking about ? The treaty of versaille and the jewish germans whi undermined what should have been a German victory. Hilter rode those two for all they were worth…..anyway enough about the Turd Riech…go learn the truth on your own time.
Might I suggest you read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich for an incredible indepth analysis of the NAZI’s from the beginning to end…it’s a heavy long read at 1500+ pages but it’s accurate and depicts the events as they happened. The analysis of the events by the author himself is quite helpful in seeing further into the mind of these madmen.

You are right that Hitler hated the commies. It is also true that he wooed and won over the military and the majority of the German people. That doesn’t necessarily place him on the right. If you recall, the Nazis joined forces with the Soviets to invade Poland, even though Hitler’s plan all along was to invade the Soviet Union later on.
There is an analogy worth making, given its current relevance. Islamists and commies espouse disparate ideologies, since Islamists are theocentric, while commies despise religion. Yet it would be folly to conclude that since commies are left wing, Islamists must be right wing. The truth is, Islamists don’t fit in that dichotomy. Moreover, they resemble Nazis in that they too have now made an unholy alliance with commies to defeat a common enemy whom they view as “infidels” and Reds see as “capitalists.”
Similarly, Tony Blair, who was a centrist member of the New Labour Party, became close friends with Bush, a conservative Republican. They worked in concert throughout their respective terms in office, perhaps as close together as Reagan and Thatcher, who were ideological twins.
Not all world regimes, parties or movements can be explained by a left-right paradigm. Many Americans will tell you the Tea Party is one such case. You may not agree, but the midterm elections proved it, since in many instances the Tea Party did not support the official Repub candidate. Some pundits believe it cost Repubs the Senate. It is also the reason that some long-time Repubs do not support the Tea Party.
Calling Hitler right wing has always enabled leftists to crucify the conservative foe du jour on a swastika, rather than fight fairly on the battlefield of ideas. Fortunately, patriotic Americans can now challenge these erroneous and simplistic categorizations. The truth is all totalitarian regimes are alike in that they suppress human beings’ God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Personally I don’t understand why you could blame the Germans for the Nuremberg Laws. I thought they were very appropriate and fair. What about Katyn or the Gulag systems which the Jews ran in the former Soviet Union?

Apparently being rational is not appealing to most of you. And it’s unfortunate to say that I have to conclude I should not be that surprised to see this kind of reaction considering most of you crackheads would probably not bother doing your own fact checking.
Beck is a comedian turned radio personality…a shock jock with a voice given to him by middle America…aka the America comprised of towns with a max population of 2000…towns where confederate flags fly free and proud…towns where incest represents the epitome of the “American way.”.
It’s kind of depressing to know that you all have a vote that carries the same weight as mine. I am convinced most of you should actually not be allowed to vote.

First, Glenn is not bad for the Conservative movement because he is almost single handedly reconnecting people with what traditional American conservatism is really about and he’s demanding that people do their own research to see if they believe it. Joe is a Progressive; not a conservative.
Second, and this is where Joe MIGHT be partially correct, is the subject of whether he’s good for the Republican party. Glenn is not interested in party politics so if that hurts Republicans so be it. Progressive parasites have infiltrated the Democratic party and have essentially destroyed them. They are now attaching themselves to the Republican party and gaining a foothold there. The Tea Party, mostly Independents (as am I) is on a mission to cleanse the Republican party as they are not capable of doing that themselves. So I’ll be generous and give him half credit for this second point.
Last, Glenn is certainly not bad for Fox News; the simplest inspection of ratings would show that to be true.
I’ve said for years that I believe Joe Scarborough is actually the bridge-dwelling kid from Deliverance all grown up. Unlikely that you’ll have a stimulating, much less intellectual conversation with him which is why I stopped watching him even before Scarborough Country was shut down. I think the only way I’d stop and listen to him now, other than the posts on The Blaze or Newsbusters, is if, while channel surfing, I happened by and saw him picking on a banjo; that would be a treat!

The protests HAVE swept the middle east. The protests ARE spreading to Europe as we see Greece reignite. There are larger protests sweeping through the U.S. and supporters of those protests are comparing them to Egypt. Lastly, the connection between the Unions, Socialists and so forth are well founded, such that the New York Times even did a piece on it.
The bottom line is Beck’s passion combined with the progressive/liberal media’s willful blindness makes him an easy and continuous target of these kinds of ad hominem attacks. If Joe or any other media outlet wish to have a fraction of Beck’s success they would address the argument he makes and challenge him on his facts. They’ll lose but maybe someone would actually tune in to watch them try.

Sure, Glenn could tone it down and ignore the coming hell, and give a “happy” show, but what purpose would that serve other than making you feel better and allow you to go another day without facing the reality? The reason you’re depressed is because your natural fight or flight instinct is kicking in, reacting to the danger ahead.

I think if you ask most blazers, yes they temporarily create those feelings, and then we snap-to and remember God, the Second Amendment, and our friends and community, and we feel at peace. Although NONE (with a few exceptions) actually want this to happen, and want our lives to be lived happy and see our children thrive (I pray to GOD every day for this) we are still Americans, and some of us remember our history, and know that from time to time we need to stand as a PEOPLE and eliminate evil if it stands in our faces.
Once we catch our breath, I believe Americans will do our duty and a great cleansing of evil shall transpire.
This may or may not be the Apocalypse that John spoke of, but either way, Americans will lose their fear for defeat very quickly, but will never lose their fear for those who surround them in their circle.
In combat, you develope a brotherhood and responsibility for those around you, your Brothers. This will happen with ordinary Americans if this comes into our borders, and America will stand, in the end, we will mourn, bury the dead, and we shall live on as Americans.

Beck saved my life. ONCE AGAIN, why does anyone watch these other stations? WHY? Since TIME is so important in our lives, why would you waste it watching any other station?

Glenn is a middle aged who started noticing he wasn’t getting younger, he had a family and he kids life was different than his. Glenn made his living talking and playing songs. He got a break and ended up on HLN with a afternoon show which was not produced nor directed. Glenn has the talent that those of us who watched it, saw a average guy giving his reaction to various news events. Glenn would call himself a rodeo clown at least twice a show. So take a rodeo clown,give him a new show on FOX and the clown, in just a few years has learned so much about so much he now is so upset that the rest of us don’t know what he knows. Glenn never has someone on to explore other deductions to a given set of facts, he holds the truth so no need to waste our time with wrong opinions. MSNBC pretty much does the same,each host has a talking head to agree with him/her. Hannity brings on guests who differ and is rude to them. Glenn has a “Perfect Storm” crisis every few months. Glenn has approx 48 opinions he has stated so whenever he’s right, his rightness is given almost as much importance as the story itself. Glenn may be right on some stories but so what? If Glenn says somebody else says gas may go to $5 @ gallon and it does,Glenn will say he told you this on such and such a date. Ok now what are you to do with that info? The other night Glenn was going on and on about Obama not saying much about Libya and he much faster he did in other situations. Americans were still on Libyan soil and having some problems getting them out .Apparently Glenn thinks American lives are secondary to a Obama statement denouncing the wack job in charge. Now I‘m sure will say to little to late on Obama’s statement, now understanding real people are in danger. The rodeo clown was smarter. I like Glenn but I don’t see a happy ending, he may have a public meltdown or private, but it’s coming.
