MSNBC: Meet the Leftist Who Prank Called Gov. Walker

After a liberal writer phoned in a prank call to the Wisconsin governor’s office, it would seem logical to condemn the juvenile trickery and blatant lack of respect for a statewide officeholder.

But not if you‘re MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell. On Wednesday evening, O’Donnell scored an exclusive interview with the prank caller and suggested Gov. Scott Walker’s willingness to talk to the David Koch impersonator sheds light on the scheming “right-wing“ and how Republicans are ”bought and paid for by Koch Industries.”

How’s that for twisted logic?

As we reported earlier Wednesday, despite the writer’s attempts to bait Gov. Walker into an embarrassing conversation, Walker doesn’t bite.

This isn’t the first time the left has tried to capitalize on phony calls to notable Republican figures. During the 2008 presidential campaign, the left scoffed at then-vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin who answered a prank call from a Canadian comedy duo pretending to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Really? How about when the fake Koch brother suggested planting troublemakers among the protesters, and the Governor said that he had considered it but rejected it for other than ethical reasons? It didn’t seem to bother him that resorting to such a fraud to discredit his opponents would be immoral and dangerous, he just worried that it would backfire. That was pretty sleazy, and it does reflect badly on the Governor.

When the obama campaign continued w their racketeering activities against Governor Sarah Palin, filing bogus ethics complaints – it was discovered to be a wealthy couple – who Michelle Obama always hustles for money for obama’s campaigns – behind filing the FALSE ethics complaints.

usurper Obama/soetoro continued his racketeering activities – against Governor Sarah Palin – when a Legal Defense Fund was set up for her – for her legal fees to fight the false ethics complaints. A lawsuit was filed to keep Palin from making use of the money – and when the matters were to be “arbitrated”, the panel that was preparing to handle these matters were discovered to have close ties to Obama – through attorney Robert Bauer being positioned on the arbitration panel.

Attorney Robert Bauer is the lead counsel on every one of the lawsuits against obozo = legal challenges to his “ineligibility” to serve as POTUS and Commander-in-Chief – filed prior to the 2008 presidential election – but “stonewalled” by Bauer until after the ACORN/SEIU vote-rigged election – acquiring extremely long delays – to obstruct discovery – in refusing to produce any of his personal information, birth records, college transcripts, Selective Service records, etc.

Attorney Robert Bauer was “hired” as White House Counsel – and has been involved in a conspiracy w obozo to extort money from the US Treasury – to pay the legal fees on Obozo’s PERSONAL LEGAL PROBLEMS – at the cost to the US taxpayers.

Attorney Robert Bauer – is the husband of the former White House Communications Director – Anita Dunn – who resigned from the WH – when videotaped evidence exposed that she was representing the White House at a high school graduation – promoting the philosophy of Chairman Mao – failing to acknowledge to the young school children that he was the deranged Communist Leader and genocidal mass murderer – who killed more people than Hitler.

It’s a common misconception that recording a phone calls is against the law. In most states (including Wisconsin) it’s legal, as long as at least one party on the phone call gives consent to the recording. So, since the prank caller obviously gave his consent, it’s fair game. There are a handful of states that require both parties to give consent, but Wisconsin is not one of those… Google it.

      Thanks for the link.

New York’s wiretapping law is a “one-party consent” law. New York makes it a crime to record to record or eavesdrop on an in-person or telephone conversation unless one party to the conversation consents. N.Y. Penal Law §§ 250.00, 250.05. (link is to the entire code, you need to click on the Penal Code section, then choose Article 250 and locate the specific provisions). Thus, if you operate in New York, you may record a conversation or phone call if you are a party to the conversation or you get permission from one party to the conversation in advance. That said, if you intend to record conversations involving people located in more than one state, you should play it safe and get the consent of all parties.

He Recorded the converstation from Buffalo, NY. Therefore, according to their own law, he should have gotten consent of the Gov. before recording him.

From what I can see this is a total misrepersentation of the phone conversation. Especially about the motive to the Gov.’s stand on the bill. The Gov. did not say anything that he hasn‘t said before in public and I am encouraged to hear about the support from the other Gov’s and for the other Gov. If the Unions think this conversation helps them they are sorely wrong. I think it encourages us and gives us hope that this will succeed and be the movement in the right direction for this country.

No, that’s not what the law says at all. One-party consent is the opposite of two-party consent. The guy making the recording is one party of the call, so he can record any of his own conversations without the consent of the second party.

Where was the outrage when O. Keefe secretly videotaped and selectively edited his videos? You call him a hero.

Also, FYI, O. Keefe, is the only person now with a criminal record. The people he videotaped and accused? The DAs threw out the cases once they saw the unedited videos. And Breitbart is being sued for defamation for his selectively edited video Shirley Sherrod (and she’ll win that one).

      @Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra
Unfortunately it is based on State laws, some states require full disclosure that a call is being recorded. Others do not require disclosure as long as 1 party of the conversation is aware of it.

Although interstate recording is somewhat a gray area.

Doubtful the DEMS/Progressives will allow this to be investigated at all because it was one of their own. However it was a conservative recording a progressive – then they would DEMAND that charges be filed.

HillBillySam1, I made no comment about the guy who did this. None. I was only pointing out your hypocrisy.

JZS – If I remember correctly the entirety of Breitbart’s “selective editiing” was to pick a starting point and ending point for his clip – there was nothing taken out in the middle.

That doesn’t really sound half as sinister as you make it out to be – every word Ms. Sherrod is heard saying on that tape she said, in that order, with nothing added or removed.
