I’m not sure why putting a guy with “spending” written on his shirt underneath a fake ceiling would help people to better understand the country’s growing debt, but I sure hope they are paying this guy well.
One word, MSNBC: chalkboard.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 8:34amI am afraid that only now do allot of people have even a glimmer of understanding what is involved in raising the debt ceiling. I hear allot of condemnation of how stupid the report was and just how stupid they must think some of the American people are. My fear is that MSNBC knows just how stupid many of their viewers are, and considering some of the things I hear some of our politicians and others saying I think they are right.
Report Post »What is wrong with the whole “it will be disastrous if we don’t raise the debt ceiling” mantra is that those who are saying are acting as though it is a given that we are going to keep spending more money then what we have coming in. The whole concept of non deficit spending is just a fairy tale as far as they are concerned.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 8:23amI love Glenn Beck and what he does for this county, and I’m total libertarian from the toes up.
This is something Glenn would do on his show totally, and you guys would find it awsome. He does things like this all the time. Just because MSNBC did it, you guys are mocking it. The left-wing isn’t the only guilty party of the double standard. Cmon guys.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 8:21amThank you, MSNBC, for demonstrating why creditors (not people) increase credit limits not cardholders, and why GOVERNMENT shouldn’t be allowed to increase its own credit limit, either.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 7:57amSorry but if you raise the debt ceiling twice in one calendar year then you have BIG PROBLEMS. Maybe if we didn‘t spend over a trillion dollars a year on bs government programs and bureacracies that do absolutely nothing then we wouldn’t have to raise the debt ceiling, but getting someone in DC to actually cut something is impossible.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 7:41amThat’s about the most retarded reporting possible. Hokie props, weak story, and what’s with the follow up questions? She cares more about the visuals than what he’s communicating (perhaps because its void of substance). She may have well asked how’s the weather there or did you have a nice Christmas. Maybe if spending dude spent more time on digging into a credible story and less time with his craft paste and crayons we’d have a decent story to watch.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 6:06amI thought it was a great depiction, but it still does not explain the stupidity. I‘m sure I’m missing something, and I think I know what it is- but- why not just stop spending right friggin now? Because Dems will not approve and pass it before the SHTF? Evil bastards if that’s the case.
I do agree that the progressives want chaos and would actually welcome the change- their bought-off politicians would let it happen.
Transition has to be subtle, which is what I know conservatives have to learn- but how long can we get bent over before we say enough- I can see that pushing us to the edge is a strategy- so maybe playing their game is in our interest for the time being. Media needs to catch up fast. Must be why GB is pushing hard on that front- but it seems more like they’re preparing for a recovery mission than a rescue mission.
On a side note: When the hell will they fix the slowness of the scrolling on this site? That is the only reason I avoid it- No other site moves so slowly in scrolling- Too many scripts or something. Keep It Simple Stupid! And No, I don’t need notifications on the site, I’m here intentionally, I will check the home page myself- I don’t need a reminder or another incentive to check more links- the only incentive would be to let me browse in peace.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 6:01amCut the spending, cut the Chinese, Saudi’s. Cut the left and the progressive agenda. I am in favor of getting back to basics. America used to live in its means over a hundred years ago. This would be a good time to find out exactly what the Fed reserve had been up to all this time. Of course we may never find out.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 2:25amThe Debt Ceiling is a double edge sword but we need to take the pain now rather then later or else the next 50 yrs will be a mess. Its better short term to raise it but at what cost. 15 Trillion is not going to make much difference as these Ponies will still spend our money unwisely.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 2:23amThey think we are all “HOMER SIMPSONS” family. Schools have been “growing” this family for years. VA has text books that are WRONG. IMHO, I think they have been “BREEDING” a class/group of people that will just be “lemings” and follow whatever “THEY” say. They have breed the person out of people. Who says thank you/ holds the door/ etc. and gets no reply or the door not held form the one that you did? I saw a guy run down in a stripmall parking lot. She speed off(large, major grocer, 10-15 stores). Guy was banged up but not hurt. The girl came back and call the cops whe she realised her window was broke. She drives? Educate in the schools. NO SCHOOL UNIONS!!!!!!. Why try when you WIN anyway?

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 1:59amSorry to say but most people live in so small a “Bubble” in life. Its ALL, ME , MINE , NOW . They don‘t care because they don’t know or want to know what this means. Its the bottom up at its finest. Has been going on at least since I was in school in the 60s. 1-4 in a private school. 5 in public and I was so ahead of everyone that the teacher “Had MY BACK”. (best teacher I ever had). I had people in 10-12 who could not read at a 5th grade level. They graduated. How can you expect a person that was grown to not understand, to understand? They were groomed to the “Public Dole” and really have no way out except fast $$$, Drug dealing, theft, ETC. How do WE educate? How can WE make them understand that in a new war, they are “Cannon Fodder”?
