NBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Iowa: ‘Too White, Too Evangelical’

NBC’s Andrea Mitchell offered a somewhat unsurprising (considering the source) analysis of Iowa as she covered the state’s upcoming caucus race for “Nightly News.”
“The rap on Iowa,” she said, “It doesn’t represent the rest of the country… too white, too evangelical, too rural. Still here, politics are personal.”

After pointing out that Iowa Republican caucus-goers don’t really have a “very good track record for picking presidents,” Mitchell spoke with network political analyst Mike Murphy, who described the Iowa caucus as being part of a sort of “winnowing out” process when it comes to candidates, reports Mediaite.

Others who have broken their addiction to mainstream-media understand this quite well. There are many highly credible, intellectual online news sources;a number of those require subscription, but are well worth it.
But you, Echohawk, are probably one who would send your child to Columbia Univ. to attend veteran occupier, Hannah Appel’s, new Academic course, “Occupy the Field: Global Finance, Inequality, Social Movement.” Universities like Columbia can‘t hold a candle to Michigan’s Hillsdale College.
Urge your children to attend Hillsdale!

Factually, she’s right. The winner in Iowa rarely goes on to win the nomination. For all the good things of the great state of Iowa, the winner in their race rarely wins in the end (Hucklebee won last year).
She didn‘t say Iowan’s were “too white” as an insult, she was saying that Iowan’s have a greater percentage of whites and evangelicals to represent what might happen in other states.
In any case, let’s see who wins. And then you tell me if the results show the popularity of the candidates in the US.

Look folks, I‘m from Iowa and you’re not going to come to this conclusion unless you go out looking for it… and you’d have to religiously sensitive to consider it too preachy.
