MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Compares Gingrich to a Terrorist

Chris Matthews has no shame. Or candor. Or apparently a filter.
On last night’s “Hardball” he discussed a possible 2012 presidential run by Newt Gingrich. And while it’s hard to believe how that discussion could degenerate into Matthews comparing Gingrich to a terrorist, it did. Multiple times.
The comments came after a guest theorized that Gingrich could win the GOP nomination:
But he looks like a car bomber. He looks like a car bomber. Clarence, he looks like a car bomber. He’s got that crazy Mephistophelian grin of his. He looks like he loves torturing. Look at the guy! I mean this, this is not the face of a president.
We’ll be sure to scour MSNBC today for any denunciation of hateful, vitriolic rhetoric and calls for civility.

Come on, people, rise above the Left and fight this urge to respond to ignorance with even more ignorance. I recommend this site to friends and colleagues, and I am unable to defend the wholly offensive remarks after each article.
If we want this site to be taken seriously this needs to change. The staff brings us news we don’t see anyplace else and we thank them like this?

Posted on March 3, 2011 at 8:42amAll sites are going to have people ‘vent’ and when someone like Chris Matthews makes such outrageous comments; many will point out his own behavior and appearance. Some are merely making jokes, so having a sense of humor helps, while others want a shock factor or are from trolls looking for people to offend. I don’t go on the Blaze to see what people commenting are going to say (that is interesting but hardly the reason) – I go on to see the stories which is what you said “the staff brings us news we don’t see anyplace else”. I question your motive here only for one reason, if you think this site brings you news you don’t see any other place but some of the comments are distasteful (and it is only some, so don’t broad brush to make it seem like all), then recommend for the articles and warn of ill advised comments and trolls since all sites are going to have both. Lecturing without pointing out specific posts which you find offensive is not furthering anything and doesn’t add to the conversation.

In my heart, I know I’m funny.
A good post and well-reasoned advice. My motives are pure. Outsiders to this site judge it by its content, and that includes the ill advised comments that appear. As a conservative, I know we have to do things better than the Left, simply because the media is stacked against us. This site gives us insight to stories that are often ignored and I hate to see its reputation tarnished because some use the comments to voice ignorant opinions or distasteful jokes.
I understand the feeling of community and I certainly have a sense of humor, but I cringe when I read through the comments on most stories knowing that opinions are formed of conservatives based on these. The reporting is factual, but the “off-the-cuff” jokes sometimes don’t carry over well.
Just my $.02.

I think people understand that some who comment are not what they pretend to be (a liberal making trouble on a conservative site and a conservative making trouble on a liberal site). Any who ‘form’ opinions based on what is posted on a site has already ‘formed’ their opinion – they are just looking for excuses to verify that opinion. I don’t believe the majority of the people posting here are mean spirited and find many with viewpoints and information I enjoy reading. Of course there will be those that I submit have a poor sense of what is funny. I don’t think it reflects badly on the Blaze, however, or on conservatives since there is no telling the political spectrum of those who are posting. Just because it is a conservative site, does not mean everyone that posts here is conservative and most people know that.

I have no idea why appearance is so important to Chris (Christie is too fat and Newt doesn’t have the ‘right’ face). I guess we know how he picks a candidate – if he gets a tingle up his leg, he’s the one he votes for.
