MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Declares: ‘One Nation’ Rally Was Just as Big as Beck Event

Here’s a partial transcript from Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters:

SCHULTZ: Now, conservatives want you to believe that Glenn Beck’s phony religious revival was way bigger than the One Nation rally. Well, let me take you back to the day of the Beck rally on August 28th, 2010, at 6:32 P.M., CBS.com proved Beck’s crowd was, as I said, no big shakes. “An estimated 87,000 people attended the rally organized by radio talk show host and Fox News commentator Glenn Beck Saturday in Washington, according to a crowd estimate commissioned by CBS News. The company, AirPhotosLive.com, based the attendance on aerial photos it took over the rally.” Now to be fair, NBC News put the size of Beck’s crowd at 300,000 people. So, somewhere in between all of this, 87,000, give or take 9 grand by that company, and 300,000 is reported by NBC. Pretty much, would you say that the size of the crowd is pretty much the same? I would. I was there. The people I saw, it was packed.

    Gee It must be nice to live in a dreamworld! For those of us who have responsibilities in life, I can only reiterate that even if they did match the Restoring Honor Rally (which is not at all true, they did not even come close), it would still be a poor showing, They had 400 groups sponsoring them, the busses were paid for and some union members were ordered to go. So as I say even if they had matched our Rally it still would have been a poor showing. Sorry Ed time to go back to sleep and dream some more. Maybe in your next dream you will be in the WH.

    What they don‘t show in Ed’s picture are the steps, which are empty, the picture is taken where you can’t see the steps in front of the group in the shade. From in front of the stage you see nothing but empty steps. Progs know their followers are delusional though, so they don’t expect them to notice.

    I liked watching this man DESTROY his credibility … Because if YOU LOOK CLOSE TO THE PICTURE ABOVE it is one that was taken at the “Restoring Honor Rally” on 8/28/2010. Mr Glenn Beck should sue this guy and MSNBC for using his Honorable Day that many of US will Remember!! Thanks NBC for truly showing me why I do not watch your stations. Look at the pict….LOL!!       I have only started watching his show to see what he is saying myself. Its like they say “know your enemy” its just a smart idea to know what is being said from both sides of the argument and making your own decisions. Most of the time i have to turn the channel ( i don’t want to puke on my screen) cause it gets so stupid. Its almost an indoctrination show, propped up with knowingly misleading information. The spin gets so hard sometimes it makes you want to puke. I would keep small children out of the room while his show is on.

    I tell ya, as I’m watching this and it gets to end, it really looks like someone photoshop’d people around the reflecting pool. That picture actually looks full (between the trees) but none of the other photos I’ve seen show anywhere near that many people.

    It wouldn’t surprise me a bit, it‘s actually a bit less disrespectful than using the photo from MLK’s speech like they did on the rally website…

      I thought the same thing. It looks packed at the front of the reflecting pool up to the memorial. When I watched it on C-Span, it didn’t look like the crowd was that big at the front.

      This is very telling. 8/28 folks paid their own way, gave excess money to charity and cleaned up after themselves. The Communist/Socialist/racist 10/2 group was largely bussed in on someone else’s dime, given a free lunch, stood around and griped all day, left a huge mess for the government to clean-up. No doubt the government clean-up was probably funded by monies paid in taxes by the 8/28 folks. A vision of two America’s, I know which one I’m in and would prefer to stay in.

      You’ve got it Ironman. I was a little too delighted to see that Ed didn’t disappoint me by being sensible or honest. By doing so he might have softened some folks toward his side.
      By presenting his normal delusional dishonesty he confirmed that the fringe left that he represents is not worth consideration.
      I watched him too and after a hearty belly laugh I felt more reassured that MSNBC is actually on our side by consistently exposing the wrong headedness of the left. To them I say; Please double down on your efforts, it‘s workin’ great for us.

      I don‘t know what he’s smoking or what’s in whatever “water” he’s drinking, but I have begun to wonder about his bosses letting a clearly delusional man work for them. Okay, he didn’t like the 8/28 rally. Fine, he “staged” his own, which according to some, was actually planned in March or April. Okay, I’m willing to go that far. People came to his rally. Fine. But it is Ed who started the “numbers” game. And his insistance that the rally was bigger than Glenn’s is making not only him, but his network and his sponsors look like fools.

      But I heard from a friend of mine in the D.C. area that she and her husband got a phone call from the AFL-CIO urging them to attend the rally. Neither of them are union members and both of them are conservatives. Why would the AFL-CIO call them. She was so surprised, she saved the message on the answering machine so her husband could hear it when he got home from work.

      Ed, it’s time to move on. You had your rally. You made whatever point you thought was needed. Whoever heard the diatribes, heard them. It’s over, it’s done. Get over it.

      I peaked into the “Ed Show” to catch what he would say about the rally myself and after the expo replay of his ego-fluffing speech from saturday he had a conservative pundit that corrected “Special Ed”. He told ed that the numbers for his rally was estimated in the tens of thousands and that Beck’s rally was in the hundreds of thousands and then “Special Ed” demanded that the 87k was no way more than maybe 100k. Then conservative pundit then started talking about picture evidence comparisons and subject matter and “Special Ed” started bashing him and yelling at him in a defensive display you would expect from an eight year old bully that is gettting called out by a teacher. Special Ed then shut down the interview while the conservative fellow was trying to get the facts about the comparison into the conversation. Special Ed just shut it down and started to denegrade the conservative movement. I was laughing my butt off.

      Special Ed can’t be honest or he thinks it would make him look weak, and you know what communist and radicals do to people that are weak… NOT a pretty sight, I’m sure. So his lie doesn’t even work on his own show. Anyone that would check it out would see the truth. Maybe someone should send the photos page links of 8/28 to his personal and show emails so he can see for himself. Maybe he would then at least stop making himself look like the retarded kid in the movie theater.

      I went to both rallies. There’s no way there was anywhere near 100k at 10/2. Not even close. On top of which it was pretty boring, and uninspiring. The speeches were weak and generic, and the crowd was unmotivated.

      More conservatives need to start editing Wikipedia articles.

      Compare the articles (especially the criticism / controversy sections) of conservatives and liberals, especially media personalities. The left is always adding to these articles… we need to make more of an effort because Wikipedia is becoming the standard online for many people. Just compare Rush and Schultz:

      Ed is right… the One Nation under Communism Rally was larger then Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally… All 492,000 of Ed’s Schizophrenic personalities arrived with him on the mall on 10-2-10… and all of them are voters too…

      When I was growing up, if I heard the words “one nation” they were always followed with the words “under God”. I heard Ed chant One Nation MANY times without reference to God – I think that is fundamentally what was missing in this rally… it was not grounded in a higher belief system, and therefore rang hollow to me. Fundamentally more important than comparing the size of the crowd was the nature or spirit driving (and participating in) the event, which was a stark contrast to 8.28. Is this just me?

      All BS. I was at Glenns Rally. I was about 100ft from Washington Momuement. No room to get closer. Had to wait 1 1/2 hrs. just to get on Metro to get to Monuement. These people and the Media are nothing but liars.
