MSNBC‘s Ed Schultz Reveals His ’Stress Secret’: A Physical Every 90 Days

MSNBC host Ed Schultz had an unquestionably rough night after Gov. Scott Walker’s recall election victory Tuesday. Luckily for Schultz, he has a special “stress secret” for staying healthy: He gets a physical “every 90 days.”
“I have to because of my job,” Schultz told Men’s Health in an interview published Monday. “I go to the doctor four times a year.”
Schultz said that “three hours of radio and one hour of TV everyday makes for a lot of 12-hour days. That’s a lot of stress.”
The prime source of that stress? He faces, on a daily basis, “people who are deliberately trying to push [his] buttons.”
“A lot of broadcasters die in their 60s,” Schultz said. “I can’t even get disability insurance because of my occupation. So my goal is to live into my 70s. I’m 58. Managing stress, managing emotion in a high-pressure environment, is the key.”
He said he looks forward to getting the numbers from his quarterly physicals.
“If you do that, you know where you are,” Schultz said. Are you improving? Are you static? Do you have to make adjustments? And that’s what they are: adjustments. Not grand, sweeping lifestyle changes. Just adjustments. You’ll feel better.”

The man that never lost faith in the unions and carried their water endlessly for the last year and a half.
