MSNBC‘s Joe Scarborough Asks Al Sharpton About ’Strain of Anti-Semitism’ at Ron Paul Events

Joe Scarborough Talks to Al Sharpton About Anti Semitism at Ron Paul Events

Following Ron Paul’s stand-off during a CNN interview yesterday and a cutting column about the Texas Congressman in the Wall Street Journal Thursday, the Republican candidate for president was the topic of conversation with the panel on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Thursday. Despite frequently referring to libertarian and small government conservatives as “my crowd,” host Joe Scarborough had some brazen words for the followers of the outspoken libertarian Ron Paul:

“There is a tension that we need to explain here among Ron Paul supporters. There are some who will embrace his domestic agenda, embrace the idea of a smaller government. Even if they don’t agree with everything…libertarians who will roll their eyes, be concerned like Dorothy about foreign policy, but also, will go away from an event saying there is always a strain of anti-Semitism – I’ve never heard the racism part, but a strain of anti-Semitism there.”

The discussion began in regards to the news about the much talked about writings and newsletters associated with Rep. Paul, where statements said, “Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the criminal justice system, I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal“ and ”If you’ve ever been robbed by a black teenaged male, you know how unbelievably fleet of foot they can be.”

Paul denied Wednesday having written the statements, and said he didn’t know about them at the time.

Joe Scarborough Talks to Al Sharpton About Anti Semitism at Ron Paul Events

After literally just sitting there and not saying a word for the first eight and a half minutes of the Ron Paul discussion, Scarborough turned to MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton following the anti-Semitism comment. Some may find this odd considering Sharpton’s history of incendiary remarks against Jewish-Americans.

Rev. Al Sharpton’s remarks about Paul followers:

“Well, I think when you read the statements in his name, the problem is that you’re not dealing with someone that has dealt with in a forthright manner what happened. You can say something and later say, ‘I shouldn’t have said it, I apologize.’ You can say something and say I was a misunderstood. All of us have gone through that, But you can’t say something and then turn around and act as though you didn’t know it was said; you don’t know you benefited from it after, as John [Heilemann] said, you said, ‘Yes, I wrote some of it.’ It’s ambiguous what [Paul] wrote, and [he doesn't] clarify that and [he gets] angry when people ask about it. That’s the danger zone that he’s in.”

Sharpton has been accused of having a revisionist history of the anti-Semitic Crown Heights riots which some charge him with inciting. Over 100 were injured in the riots, and a mob hunted down and slain an innocent rabbinical student. Before the death, Sharpton led protests through the Jewish section of Crown Heights and made comments including: “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house,”

In 1995 he led the boycott of a Jewish-owned clothing store in Harlem, where he told protesters:

“I want to make it clear to the radio audience and to you here that we will not stand by and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business on 125th Street.”

Soon after a gunman burst into the store shooting, then setting the building on fire, destroying Freddie’s Fashion Mart and killing seven.

I’d say the ones who think Israel is too stupid to decide for themselves are the real anti-Semites, don’t you?

Sure, they don’t openly speak their anti-Semitism but to think they know better than Israel on how to protect Israel or will use Israel as a scapegoat to wage war really is anti-Semitism.

If you are honest with yourself you’ll know this to be true…

Ron Paul’s stance of not seeing groups and treating all the same is the message Americans should hear and is the reason the Progressive left and Progressive right are trying to label Ron a racist when the truth is PROGRESSIVES are the real racists and always have been…Progressives divide and look at each of us as Black or white, man or woman, old or young. United we stood and divided we fell…..

Ron PORKY Paul is a liar, a hypocrite, and a complainer. One instance of racism in his newsletter could have escaped him but it went on for years and he was well aware of it. He has taken all the PORK he can get but hypocritically complains about government spending. Watch all of this debate performances and see that all he does is complain. A liar, hypocrite, and complainer as our nominee – I don’t think so. The heat will cook him for sure.

I must be in the twilight zone.
Here I am on a website, that supposedly has people on it who consider themselves “Tea Party.” (which Ron Paul started in 2007 not Fox, Beck, Santelli, or Palin)

These people were OUTRAGED when Garofolo and Olbermann and the rest of the corrupt media were calling them “racists”, and NOW the people who claim to be PART of the “Tea Party,“ are trying to insinuate that THE GUY who STARTED IT ALL is a ”racist“ by using pieces from MSNBC who called THEM ”racists” in the FIRST PLACE??

Don’t you see how these people lead you around by the nose?

You’re ******* on the ONE guy who has been TRUE to his oath to the Constitution, has lived an EXEMPLARY LIFE, and THE ONLY ONE who HAS the answers and the plan to save the dollar from financial and societal collapse.
The ONE guy who PREDICTED the financial bubbles, and has been trying to warn the country for YEARS about lack of adherence to the rule of law. The Constitution…
You’re discounting the ONE guy who has the MOST support from the military.
The MOST support from Independents, recovering Dems, and young voters.
      The MOST support of minorities.
He has NO baggage. No scandals. No back room deals. No lobbyists.

But lets be totally honest here…..like it or not Paul has gained a new following of people, it is not just his old crowd. People had lost touch with the constitution and didnt understand what freedom was…me included…I have also in the past thought Ron Paul was a nut, because every time he runs, that is all you hear, and id idnt care to look any further than that, and i had no real grasp of what the constitution stood for……there is a new following in Ron Paul, and it is not just a bunch of people who want to “Legalize it!!!”

Spelling is hard lemme tell you. Trying to compare a black man that was shot and killed because he was a rapper and an anti-semetic movement is like trying to compare a neighborhood touch football game with the superbowl and NFL; it doesn’t quite equal out. Now while I can probably believe there was some kind of racist motives behind the rapper getting shot, I do not know I have no idea of the story to which you are referring to, I highly doubt that he was shot becuase he was a black rapper.
The problem with people like you and others in this country is that you‘re too quick to pull out that fancy little 1970’s relavent card and flash it around. Anti-Semetism is a huge racial issue and really the only this day and age. Most people, leaving out yourself and the entire left, see past color and race and take people for who they are and what they contribute to society. Outside of a clan rally, when was the last time you saw a a “whites in front, all others in back“ sign or a ”whites only” sign? Unless you have about 20 years on me I highly doubt you ever have outside of the propogand bs that is fed down your throat swallow-free and thrown back up. While it is sad small pockets do exist Anti-semetism isn’t small pockets….it’s led and bred in OWS.

      Hey WakeupUSA

Where is this imaginary Anti-Semitism? I haven’t heard any anti-semitism from any of Ron Paul’s supporters… I suspect that this is an agent provocateur thing…

Ya know- I pose as a Mitt Romney supporter and make all sorts of incendiary comments, while my partner in crime happens to be there with the camera rolling and the mainstream media plays with it like a hot potato… sort of like how they did the Occupy Protests… they even tried it with the Tea Party protests… with the N-word thing that someone magically heard…and the magical lougie someone spit that no one saw, not even the camera…

Wakeup….the ones posting that kinda trash aimed at minorities are racist NEOCONS, they aren’t republicans, they aren’t anything but warmongering liberal racists. Neocons are Liberals. Their intent is to portray that the Tea Party consists of people like them, when the fact of the matter is they’ve been marginalized for months due to Malik Shabazz (NBPP) calling out the Tea Party about racists within their midst, and the Tea Party subsquently expelled those losers.

Now they sit on the margins making all sorts of incendiary comments trying to isolate the Tea Party and dissuade minority members, because they CANNOT have people like the OWS Protestors teaming up with the Tea Party…it would mean absolute annihilation of the false left-right paradigm.

They’re like little chihuahuas nipping at the big dog on Looney Tunes.

Unless some people start coming out and admitting by some first hand account that Paul is a racist, bigoted old man, this means nothing. Why hasn’t there been at least one person come forth to testify of Paul’s racism? What law has he written or what bill has he sponsored that shows signs of racism, bigotry or discrimination? What does his voting record show? These Newsletter comments are unlike him. Has someone else come out testifying to the truth of these letters? Who out there can testify that these Newsletter comments are a representation of his character and demeanor? It’s one thing to say he said something, and it’s another to have a witness collaborating these accusations and providing other direct quotes of him personally saying similar things throughout his career and life. In these past 30 years, is that all they can find? Some disputable and irrelevant comments which do not in any way represent this man’s life at all? There are no other comments or statements attributed to him that even suggest racism or bigotry on his part. He is the one politician who rarely changes his positions. He is very consistent in his beliefs. He constantly promotes equal justice for all, and individual rights. He believes in personal liberty and constitutional Government. If anything, his positions are anti-racism. He actually believes that all men are by nature equally free and independent.

What did Paul say all those years prior to the newsletter article and what has he said in all those years after it. Not one word of racism. Once a racist, always a racist. Something doesn’t match up. I just cannot connect any dots in this story. It amazes me that the MSM is so focus on this silly stuff compared to the serious problems. We’re $15 trillion in debt and Paul plans to cut $1T in the first year. How much are the others planning to cut – billions? How much is Obama planning to increase it?

Paul is on the right side of abortion, health care, economy, national defense, the fed, taxes, second amendment, worker rights, local schooling, immigration and energy.

I know Ron Paul personally, and there is not a racist or bigoted bone in his body. These stories are 100% fabrications. Politics as usual in Washington DC, and the system is grinding up our rights and freedoms left and right. How in the WORLD would democrats AND republicans vote to detain indefinitely American Citizens? That’s beyond crazy. That is North Korea-style governance. When Bush did it, it was wrong too! The fact that a guy on the left does the same thing is not quite so surprising or shocking.

Ron Paul is so beyond racism that people cannot even understand him – he thinks we don’t need a civil rights law because the constitution already says all men are created equal. Nutcases call that racist, but it is anything but.

In regards to anti-semitism, when Reagan and all the republicans were voting against Israel after they bombed Iranian nuclear facilities, Ron Paul stood up for Israel’s right to defend themselves. Anti-semitic? How so? He stood practically alone defending them against these two parties our ours, LOL!

That is why I say these people are not being disingenuous, they are outright lying. Al Sharpton knows all about Ron Paul, yet Al choses to lie. I wonder what kind of a church he is a reverend of that lying is okeedokee?

Eric Dondero, Paul’s estranged former volunteer and personal aide, worked for Paul on and off between 1987 and 2004 (back when he was named “Eric Rittberg”), and since the Iraq war has become one of the congressman’s most vociferous and notorious critics. By Dondero’s account, Paul’s inner circle learned between his congressional stints that “the wilder they got, the more bombastic they got with it, the more the checks came in. You think the newsletters were bad? The fundraising letters were just insane from that period.” Cato Institute President Ed Crane told a news source he recalls a conversation from some time in the late 1980s in which Paul claimed that his best source of congressional campaign donations was the mailing list for The Spotlight, the conspiracy-mongering, anti-Semitic tabloid run by the Holocaust denier Willis Carto until it folded in 2001.

According to David L. Bahnsen, CFP, who works as a Senior Vice President in the private client group of one of the premier Wall Street firms in the country where he provides financial planning and investment management services to individuals and families, spent several hours speaking with Ron Paul shortly after 9/11. He (Paul) informed him that the Islamicist threat was a made up one, just as the Communist threat of the 1950’s and 1960’s was. “He told me, to my face, in his own words, that Lew Rockwell and his people were the only ones calling a spade a spade: America did deserve what the Islamicists were trying to do to us, and if we simply learned to leave them alone, they would in turn leave us alone. It was among the most despicable and disappointing conversations I have ever had with another adult.”

MSNBC is a perfect place to be holding this conversation… as they cling to their racists, bigots and anti-semites like they claim regular Americans cling to their guns and Bibles. I’ll keep my gun and Bible thank you.

Sharpton is an out-’n-out racist, bigot and anti-semite, while Paul is more coy about his failings in this regard. Time to finally fess up Paul and stop the beating around the bush with misdirection and excuses. Be a man. Show America you are a man.

We already know Sharpton isn’t a man, but YOU still have time Paul but not for long… the clock is ticking. You want to be “the man”, then be “a man.” Your supporters can learn from your admitted failings, then start to focus on and admit their own failings for supporting you all these years.

There would be less anti-Semitism if America was allowed to have an open discussion about Jewish ownership of Wall Street, the Media, the Educational System, and the Ethnic makeup of the Czars of the United States of America.

Discussion of these facts, and their implications, given Jewish aversion to the traditional nation-state AKA ‘patriotism’, are simply not allowed in accordance with rules of protocol. This bothers many people, including myself.

the claim to support Gender-Variant Children

      >COIN. No need to thank me, not what I’m looking for regarding my Service. The point I am making is with ALL the talk regarding the Constitution by Paul supporters, how many have actually taken an oath to support and defend the Constitution of The United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and bear true faith and allegiance to the same. Not very many.

When Paul supporters (like the other left) stop using the Military as props to make their candidate look better in the eyes of voters with that easily skewed donation BS claim, and that the Military loves Ron Paul, yada, yada, yada just like they loved Obama… I will stop riding your @sses. Until then…. deal with it.

And believe me, I speak for more in the Military regarding their distaste for Ron Paul than any list of names that any one of you can lay claim to in favor.

When a supposedly Conservative candidate allies himself more with the talking points of the left/Democrats and the organizations that endorse that BS like Code-Pink etc. you lose us by the thousands. Remember that. Unless any of you have served, don’t ever speak on behalf of and for the Military in any way and use us as Paul talking points. He doesn’t deserve us and none of you posers can compare to us.
