MSNBC‘s O’Donnell Attacks ‘Insane’ Beck, the ‘Joke’ That Is O’Reilly, & ‘Gullible’ Fox Audience

MSNBC‘s Lawrence O’Donnell — and MSNBC in general — loves to talk about three things: Bill O’Reilly, Fox News, and Glenn Beck. Take for example the “Rewrite” section of O‘Donnell’s show last night. In an attempt to belittle Fox, those who are on it, and those who watch it, O’Donnell went on an almost five-minute rant trying to tear down the network and everyone affiliated with it. He paid special attention to O’Reilly, O‘Reilly’s apparent lies, and especially O‘Reilly’s ethnicity:

When I look at O’Reilly, I also see dozens of guys I grew up with just like him: overbearing, argumentative Irish guys who think they know everything and can back up nothing. Those guys have always been a joke to me, which is why O’Reilly almost never has the capacity to outrage me. Because he is just a joke to me most of the time. But when he blares homicidal encouragement for killing physicians who perform abortions he deserves all the serious minded condemnation he has received.

One can only imagine what might happen if Beck, O’Reilly, or anyone on Fox refers to someone as an “overbearing, argumentative Muslim, black, or Asian guy.” But I digress.

UPDATE:

Noel Sheppard over at NewsBusters has some interesting statistics about O‘Donnell’s viewership. Sheppard points out that O‘Donnell’s viewership numbers have declined by 45 percent since his premiere in the 8PM time slot.

“When O‘Donnell premiered at 8PM the first Monday after Olbermann’s departure, he garnered over 1.5 million viewers,” Sheppard writes. “By last Thursday, that had plummeted to 843,000.”

He also notes that fellow MSNBC host Chris Matthews has mentioned Glenn Beck on 17 of his last 20 shows. That leads Sheppard to conclude that MSNBC‘s ratings strategy consists of simply attacking the network’s competitors — “How pathetic.”

    This type of commentary, coming from both sides, is just a sign of the times. These people are competing for an audience so they can charge for advertizing, nothing more nothing less. A few maybe genuinely believe some of the things they say but it is rare. Just listen to each side and then look around you, nothing changes. The “left” wants socialized medicine and the “right” creates and passes a Medicare drug bill yet they continue to butt heads. Same for most things that the government involves itself in. Nothing will happen until a severe decline in the system occurs as in deflation resulting from a depression. Things can not keep going up forever. People need to read American history so they can be prepared for the upcoming re-adjustment. None of the “town-cryers” will have any effect on the outcome nor will they say anything that offends their advertizers.

    The only audience these morons get is on the Blaze, so naturally they are envious of the success of FOX. Isn’t he being a little prejudice the way he is talking about the Irish? Must be a result of being at the bottom of the ratings and FOX is at the top with about four times the number of viewers as the best PMSNBC show.

She was the Solicitor General for all the suits against him filed with the Supreme Court to show proof of natural born citizenship. He owed her big time. All of the requests were denied of course.

    They were never heard. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn’t it? The American people mean nothing any longer. It’s all about payback time for those who compromised themselves to elect someone who really has no true right to even be there.

    Have you ever noticed that MSNBC cannot go find news on it’s own, and needs to comment on FOX news? Larry, each and every time you open your mouth, it smells of sour grapes. So rather than go out and do some Journalism, you need to report on OTHER networks. How desperate you look! How small!

    Funny, the Party of Arrogance, which called for Civility only a few weeks ago, needs to stir the pot by commenting on what the Right is saying.

      Couldn’t agree more. MSNBC spends inordinate amounts of time commenting on their chief competitor. Its bizarre. Who does that?

      It’s like filling up Burger King Commercials with images of Big Macs. No one that wants to be taken seriously does this.

      ….and one thing that stood out to me. I have watched plenty of MSNBC on my own and it is quite clear they have an anti-American agenda despite O‘Donnell’s dismissing it out of hand. I don’t even need to watch FOX to know that.

      I also get tired of having to watch MSNBC when I come to the Blaze, but I think it is important that they keep reporting on the activity over there. I’m sure people can see not so veiled threats these guys are making. “I know real Irish tough guys…. and if you don’t…..” I also find it funny for one guy at work in make-up to be poking a stick at someone at work in make up. Let‘s hope his tough Irish friends don’t get confused. I don’t see Mr. O’Reilly taking this bait, but if my child’s health classes can be taken seriously somebody needs to keep an eye on Lawrence. Good work, Blaze.

    If the management at MSNBC thinks it’s smart to whine about the competition and thinks their viewers are all so small minded as to enjoy these petulant rants, they insult journalism and their views simultaneously. I‘m a small time entertainer and I’ve never found it productive to insult my own audience even when they ask for it. I’ve always found that it builds my audience and improves their quality when I treat them as though they are better than they actually behave.

    O‘Donnell doesn’t respect the craft or the people he supposedly serves. It’s as though he deliberately wants to be taken off the air. Although it’s probably got something to do with the inability to examine himself or his premises.

    He could easily be replaced with some angry ,immature sophomore from an ivy league school to perform equally.

I agree that the outrage would be off the scale if any conservative talked about someone’s ethnicity in a negative way. The double standard is a major part of the liberal mindset. Who could forget Harry Reid’s “light skinned *****” comment? Nobody on the left had an issue with it, not even black Americans.

      I watched OReilly state how Obama‘s birth certificate issue wasn’t important. He said even if he really didn’t have one, how it didn’t matter. It does matter, because the Constitution matters. OReilly is a Pinhead for taking that position…and I hope it haunts him until he wises up.

      So he says “nothing anti-American here at MSNBC” . What about Ole Lawrence admitting he is a socialist??? My father spent his life fighting the socialist. The last collective we had on our shores was Jamestown and it ended in death and starvation like it has elsewhere throughout time.       They (MSNBC) are doing this for this reason mainly; to get attention. They have nothing about them that’s attractive. They lie and/or twist the truth constantly and disregard real news, so they need something to draw viewers in.

      Their approach is to attack FOX and the more popular personalities over there in hopes of getting attention. But there’s another plan I believe. They are hoping to draw O’Reilly and Beck into a battle of sorts. They think if they do, this will draw crowds from both sides to watch them like they do FOX.

      The pathetic part is they don’t/can’t rely on their own talent and telling the news for ratings because they not only lack decency and talent, they just plain suck.

When all these things Beck is talking about finally come to fruition for the Commie/Socialist/Progressives, the true Americans will be looking for them with an eye toward retribution.       But I digress (as O’Donnell says) the true loonies are Chris Matthews and the O’Donnell guy. Mean, hateful, morons, so jealous of the successful ones on TV like O’Reilly and Beck and heck, all of FOX news. Matthews & O‘Donnell aren’t good enough to hold the toilet paper when they get dumped on. I remember O’Donnell saying something on another program several years ago that angered me so much) I swore I‘d never watch anything he’s on. These poor network programs can’t find anyone worth putting on their shows, so they use trash like Maddow, Matthews, O’Donnell, (can’t name them all but I know WHO YOU are) Olberman is one of em, but he’s on his way out hooking up with Gore.
      Algore, the world-wide joke of the Century. All these people have to stick together and bash the good guys because without that, they’d have nothing to talk about with their pitiful lives.

      IF those over at MSNBC didn‘t talk about Beck and O’Riely they would have NO SHOW at all… their WHOLE show is based on what BECK and O’RIELY are doing/saying.. like the jealous neighbor who doesn’t work but wants what you have.. but let them talk.. MORE people will tune in FOX .. and some will stay cause even DEMOCRATS (non Progressives) know the TRUTH when they hear it.. LOL..       With the huge number of MSNBC clips in the blaze, it seems disingenuous to complain about pundits on those shows talking about “the other side” (Roger Ailes.) Criticism=fear or jealousy (as i see in here) so why be afraid and jealous of MSNBC? NEWSFLASH: their viewership is low.

      O’Donnell is suffering to get ratings. So what does one do in his position? Challenge O’Reilly to check his background & presents the facts on his show. Then this Commie will get the much needed attention he craves. I say don’t take him up on his challenge Bill, even though we can prove he’s anti-American with one sound bite. You accept his challenge then that douche bag wins. His viewership will soar from 10 (family members) to possibly 30.
