MTV Rejects Obama Campaign’s Request to Help President Connect with Young Voters

In what seems an unthinkable move, MTV — the network that hosted a youth town hall last October called “A Conversation With President Obama“ and made ”Rock the Vote” famous — has reportedly declined a request by President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign to help the president connect with young Americans. What’s more, the network allegedly did so on the grounds that it does not get involved with political campaigns.
According to the New York Post, Obama’s Get Out the Vote campaign, run by Buffy Wicks, feared that the high unemployment rate among millennials will turn young voters off to the president.
The Post adds that the campaign called MTV’s internal ad agency, MTV Scratch in mid-August:
MTV Scratch, run by Ross Martin, former MTVU boss, and Anne Hubert, who was a policy adviser to Jon Corzine when he was a US senator from New Jersey, works across all the MTV Networks and helps marketers such as General Motors and Dr. Pepper understand the mind-set of young people.
The re-election effort wants to reconnect with youth, which were among its most fervent supporters in 2008.
“The youth initiative is having trouble with big donors and youth votes,” said a person familiar with the discussions.“They asked, ‘Can you tell us how we should be talking to them?’ ” one source noted.
But the Obama camp’s efforts were evidently a nonstarter, as after several weeks of deliberation, Viacom’s unit reportedly declined their request saying it does not do political work.

Posted on September 27, 2011 at 9:40pmIt‘s amazing that they suddenly don’t want to be “connected” to politics, especially in light of past pushes into politics like the “Rock The Vote” campaign. It‘s sad that ’ol B-Rock isn’t getting their endorsement this time around. That should speak to his party, his policies, and his “regime” that maybe, just maybe, even the mindless zombies that can’t name any Presidents prior to Clinton are hip to the fact that this guy is (to quote some Fat Albert): “Like School on a Saturday…. This is it, people! The “downfall” of “mad Barack” is being played out. Here’s Glenn Beck speaking on Soros “throwing” Obama & his communists “under the bus”:
“DICTATORSHIP PLAN For America 2012!! :: Glenn Beck Names The TRAITORS & Exposes Their CONSPIRACY!!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAu_-UmERuo
“I believe the communists are being used, quite frankly.” -Glenn Beck
“So, the real question is, what is THE ILLUSION OF THE REPUBLIC that George Soros has planned for us? Because if we all know Obama is in bed with all the thugs, ringleaders, marxists, and controllers, we won’t sit down. So there has to be the illusion of the Republic. That’s what you look for. That is what’s coming in the next year, the illusion that the thugs and the marxists are ratted out, to satisfy you after you cry out ‘TOP DOWN, protect us’. The end of American Liberty.”

Unfortunately, that may become reality even though they claim that statement was not serious.
I stated when our muslim-in-chief got elected that he is the last president we will ever see … I pray every night that I am wrong. If the progressives see there is no way they are going to win the election of 2012, I expect some emergency to happen causing martial law and suspension of elections to be enforced all in the name of protecting us. Especially now that some 20,000 heat seaking missles are missing from Libya (how convenient!)
We had all better hold on for a possible very bumpy ride — if we don‘t all get out and begin making our voices heard we’ll be saluting this sleepler muslim for the rest of our lives. Posting here is fine, but we must get out and be involved in our communities, villages, cities, towns, schools and more. We must ensure our friends, family and neighbors know the stakes. We must fight this fight and fight it now else it will be too late. It’s much easier and less bloody to prevent an all out attack than to defend one.
Get out and make your voice heard! Be respectful, be civil, but be firm!
WOLVERINES!

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 11:43am@ CAT …I believe this is the plan…suspend/eliminate voting entirely, it would save a lot of time and money wasted on campaigning and voter fraud issues…guaranteeing Obama’s presence in the WH indefinitley. It’s not the first time a one-party system has been ‘hinted’ at, for example…

That base would be blacks, a segment of Hispanics, college students, unions and all ******** influenced by Hollywood and the media. That’s close to 50% right?? To keep those groups tight and in lock step with him, I don’t see Obama moving to the right one little bit. He can’t. The stakes are for “all the marbles” in 2012 as far as I can tell. The network has always leaned left IMO and this is nothing more than an attempt to get some free PR by them! The election is 13mos out you can be sure Emperor Obama will be making an appearance or two within that time frame. The youth vote played a key role in getting him into the WH. Youth that is a huge part of MTVs demographics. Dont celebrate or praise this folks IMO being 13mos out they dont want to get involved… yet but they will.

Fellow Patriots,
The window for Allen West to jump into the race is closing soon. However, after watching the lackluster display of the GOP Presidential Candidate debates, we are not ready to give up on our efforts to persuade Allen West to jump into the race.
Now is the time to put in one big effort: call his offices, post on his Facebook page, send faxes, write letters to Allen West to let him know that you are not satisfied with the current selection of candidates, that none possess the knowledge, intelligence or leadership skills that he embodies, and that our country desparately needs in our next President.
None of the candidates have won the confidence of the people of this country. We need the conviction, values, and inner strength of a true leader. Allen West talks frequently of the qualities required for a leader of this country. Remind him that he is describing himself!
Go West!
