Mugshot of the Year? Marker-Faced Man Attacks Friend With Sword

Ricky Lee Kalichun, 45, wanted his video game console back. That‘s at least what he claimed when he showed up at a friend’s apartment drunk with marker all over his face and wielding a sword.
Kalichun, of Evansville, Indiana, was arrested and charged with intimidation with a weapon and public intoxication. That arrest produced a mugshot that could be considered the best of the early year.
The Evansville Courier & Press explains the incident:
According to the affidavit, a man called police about 12:24 a.m. and reported that Kalichun tried to attack him in the hallway of an apartment building at 315 SE King Blvd.
Police said they found Kalichun on the fourth floor with a camouflage coat and black marker markings on his face and immediately arrested him.
Police said Kalichun smelled strongly of alcohol and had a large sword on him.
The victim — who told police he and his wife were homeless and had been staying with someone at the apartment — said he got word that an intoxicated man was downstairs and needed his help, the affidavit said.
The victim told police he used to room with Kalichun and had him come up to the apartment. Kalichun then allegedly began unplugging a television and stated that a video game console and some games were his.
The occupants then got Kalichun in the hallway, the affidavit said, and he allegedly pulled out the sword and began swinging at the victim.

Posted on January 20, 2011 at 8:41amThis kind of thing is beginning to happen all the time.
A nice guy gets up in the morning after a good night’s sleep, takes a little extra time to pay all his bills early, heads out the door for work while reading the paper then sees something Palin said.
And, BAM! He covers his face with marker, grabs a sword and tries to kill somebody.
Oh, the crosshairs! The hateful, vitriolic rhetoric!

Posted on January 20, 2011 at 8:37amYou realize when the GOP comes back into power and everything is still a huge mess (due to it being a long process, and also the fact that the GOP is an impotent joke) you’re just encouraging everyone on the left to mock you with “It‘s Obama’s fault!” right?
All I ever see is this “It‘s Bush’s fault!” satire, and it’s getting old. Yeah, we get it… the left blames Bush. And rightly so. Their problem isn’t blaming Bush, it’s blaming ONLY Bush. But really, if that’s your argument wait until it gets turned around on you.
We need arguments that are real, not slogans.

I feel your pain, but the blame Bush syndrome is getting old. If Obama was hired to fix the problems Bush created, which dont forget the congress holds the purse the executive branch hold the sword, then why is our economy getting worse. That is why its a effective constant critique of the Blame Bush group, because its one thing to constantly blame a predecessor if you are fixing the problems, its a something else when you are making it worse and not solving anything

No, you’re right… the Patriot Act & DHS have really increased your liberties. And it’s not like the Obama administration has built upon them, either. Bush was an excellent, competent, patriotic president. And his father has NOTHING in common with Soros, Strong, Obama, or anyone else:

Posted on January 20, 2011 at 10:24amBug, Bush was a progressive republican. Also known as a RINO. These people who praise him don‘t know what they’re talking about honestly. He did do some good, however he is in many ways a carbon copy of Obama. That’s why progressive-types need to be stopped. ON BOTH SIDES! Socialist type policy does not work. It has failed miserably every time it has been attempted. If we continue down this path, we will fail, too. Just like everyone else has .. over fairly short periods of time, too!
Bushy was not a good president. Obama is a HORRIBLE president. We need real conservative leaders on the right and real moderates on the left. Why? Because socialism and communism have failed miserably .. and are proven to be inefficient, ineffective, and incapable of being implemented with any success. Conservatism which serves as the base of a small govt on the other hand .. is a proven system. TRUE conservatism. That’s what this nation was built on, and that’s why we became the fastest rising and most dominant superpower to date.
You’re right about one thing, though. The republican party .. as it stood before the Tea Party .. WAS a joke in many ways. We still have some bad apples, but alas .. so are the democrats! The right was incapable of getting anything done and was not conservative enough while the left is currently busy worshiping their golden calf. They are supposed to stand for the democratic process while at the same time they are standing for socialism, big government, and corruptness. Even the most moderate democrat is consistently voting for Obama’s far left schemes! They’re going to follow him and lead America through the gates of Morodor, too .. if this crazy far left crap isn‘t stopped in it’s tracks!
The whole system needs a shake-up. Fire everybody! Create term limits! Let us opt-out of Soc Sec. I could go on for hours ..

Posted on January 20, 2011 at 8:37pmI was about to agree with bug, but your reply was spot on. Yes, I STILL blame Bush for the patriot Act and the DHS, and will never forgive him for taking so many of my liberties away. He wasn’t even a RINO, just a piece of the Soros puzzle that started with his daddy being forced on Ronald Reagan as VP in 1980, just minutes before he was to accept his Republican nomination for President. Bush was a bad dude, and a globalist just like daddy, and Cheney is a war-profiteering monster who should be tried, convicted, and executed for treason. I didn’t believe all this until just recently when I started putting more things together, and drank Hannity’s “Bush cool-ade” ad nausium in the 00′s. I openly mocked truthers back then, but I am re-openning my own investigation into the matter.
I dunno. I’m just getting so damn tired of all this mess, and want society to be a better functioning lot instead of all this bitterness and hate from both sides. I’m like William Wallace “All I want is to raise crops, and God willing, a family” And i want to be left to do it, free from this perpetual nanny-state telling me HOW I need to do it. That‘s why I’m so fired up so much in my posts.
