Protester Interrupts Kathleen Sebelius Speech to Georgetown Univeristy Graduates

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ speech to Georgetown University graduates Friday was briefly interrupted when a protester stood up and yelled that she was a “murderer,” a reference to her pro-abortion stance, the Washington Post reported.

As the man shouted, others in the audience booed loudly in an apparent effort to drown him out. Security personnel escorted the man away and Sebelius continued her speech, earning applause as she did so.

According to the Post, Sebelius did not discuss the 2010 health care overhaul or the Obama administration’s controversial stance on contraception in her remarks at the Washington, D.C. university. Catholic church leaders had argued it was inappropriate for Sebelius to speak at the Jesuit institution after writing the mandate that employers, including most religious ones, be required to provide contraception coverage for their employees.

    It makes me sick when the Left screams we must protect the children in adds for lead paint, Obamacare, and the list goes on. But they have no problem killing them before they are born.       A Jesuit affliated institution, Georgetown U., invites an high profile anti-life, pro-abortion leader/activist to speak at graduation and only one poor guy protested. I‘m surprised that there wasn’t an organized effort to protest her appearance. Oh, wait, it‘s DC and nobody’s entitled to any opinion except the political correct one expressed by the power brokers – won’t get those lovely research and educational grants you know!

    My question is why weren’t there many more protesters? Why is that young gentleman the only one among the entire student body with enough B@ll$ to say anything? Props to this young man. God bless him.
    Georgetown is supposed to be an elite school. How come there wasn’t any more true free thinkers there?

    I am a Catholic that has recently rediscovered his faith (though I am still a sinner) and it hurts me very much to see these “thought leaders” not condemning what is wrong (abortion) and so hurtful to our nation. Why are there so few good Bishops? Why are there so few outspoken religious leaders? Those true men that do speak out against the destruction of our formerly great country’s soul get every bit of my respect.
    (Yes, I am still sorry Santorum didn’t make it haha..)

    Although this is a sad occasion for Georgetown, I do not feel quite as bad as when the Bamster went to Notre Dame..

    Everything works out in the end though..The only consolation is that it is hot downstairs for the bad guys no matter what creed you adhere to.. And that isn’t much of a consolation either because I do not wish pain on any one.. I have enough work trying to keep myself on the straight and narrow.. I am not like Jonah and Nineveh. God bless you all..

      I left open the possibility of him being from either side of the aisle, which is what you should have done also. The fact that being “Pro-life” is most often a right-wing issue, does not automatically mean that he has to conform to your pre-cconceived discriminatory opinions. Does it?

      Your statement however, by saying that he was hurting his own point by sinking to the “‘lefts” level, does indeed brand him as being “NOT from the left”.

      So again, he may very well be from the right, and if he is, shame on him for acting like a democrat.

      Kathleen Sebelius promotes the murder of little babies, and now, the forced, experimental vaccination of innocent children. She is also a communist who hates America.

      Attempting to make the murder of babies the moral equivalent of defending those babies who have the inalienable right to life is intellectually dishonest.

      You are right. The best he and the true catholics could have done is not to show up at the ceremony. He should have protested outside. Having a lot of empty seats would have given the University Administration the idea that there was a protest.

      The graduation ceremony is a waste of money anyway .. Listing to a boring speech, throw the board up in the air and stand with you parents and relatives for a picture. $10,000 please.

      I hope they do decertify Georgetown. They do not deserve to have Catholic associated with them any longer. It would have been better for the protester to hold up a sign instead of interrupting her speech. We don’t want to be like the OWS.
