Muslim Actress Receives Threats For Posing in Playboy

A Muslim actress, who posed nude in the German edition of Playboy, has caused quite a stir in the Islamic community of Germany.

Muslim Actress Receives Threats For Posing in Playboy

Fox News reports:

Sila Sahin, a 25-year-old Turkish German living in Berlin, has been branded a “whore” and a “Western slut” after appearing topless on the cover of the magazine’s May 2011 issue, The Sun reports.

Sahin’s photographs, according to posts on Islamic websites, have shamed “Muslim womanhood” and depict her “prostituting herself for money,” the newspaper reports.

“She needs to be very careful,” one post read, according to the Sun.

“She must pay,” another read.

The Sun has more about why the actress chose to pose for Playboy:

Sila, raised in Germany by conservative Turkish parents, says she fears being “spat at” and “shamed”.

Her parents are said to have reacted with “horror” at the 12-page coverage, and her mother has apparently cut off all contact.

Sila, 25 – star of German soap Good Times, Bad Times – claimed the shoot was a reaction to the “slavery” of her youth.

She added: “What I want to say with these photos is, ‘Girls, we don‘t have to live according to the rules imposed upon us’.

“For years I subordinated myself to various societal constraints. The Playboy photo shoot was a total act of liberation.”

Here is Sila, looking more wholesome:

But girls who aren‘t beautiful you don’t care about? That’s the problem with our society and its idolatry of beauty and sexual objectification of women. Young girls are paying the price in their twisted fears over their looks, mutilating themselves with plastic surgery or starving themselves to look thin.

The peaceful loving Islamic religion that is slowly taking root in our beloved Country, with the blessings of our leaders and media, displays their tolerance, understanding, and appreciation for someone to express themselves by disowning, threatening, and placing a death sentence upon a woman.

Playboy is hardly porn in the sense you imagine. It is generaly a mild expose of a couple of naked models in a supine positon or two or three. There are much more lurid and enjoyable nasties in the immense hard-core porn market. She is much better off with Heffner than she’d be with Flynt trust me.

To say there are worse examples of pornography is no judgment in favor of Playboy. That‘s like saying asenic isn’t so bad because cyanide is much worse. You can get used to asenic, taking it in small doses every day. Sure, it makes you sick and weak, but it doesn’t kill you immediately like cyanide.

How do you think we got to where our culture is with porn everywhere? Heffner started the campaign to make it seem glamorous rather than the filthy degrading thing it is. Now it is joked about light heartedly on TV shows as if it’s no worse than eating a box of donuts.

What it has done to marriages is staggering. I don’t want to punish this poor deluded girl, but if the jihadists decide to cut off the heads of the producers and distributors of this poison I’m not going to shed a tear.

Well spoken, Isles! I made a joke above, but I suppose it was in poor taste given the gravity of the principle at large and the type of universal society we’ve evolved into. There are so many ills that our society wishes to address, but the multi-billion dollar a year porn industry is off limits. Why? Because so many of us indulge in it. It is so widespread, and frankly, the majority don’t wish to stop. Also, TheJackel is a dufus….”yep, that’s right, I said it!” (Mark Levine) As far as the other commenter addressing judgment, is it possible to be imperfect while still understanding that something needs to be done to correct a wrong? The whole “don’t throw stones unless you are pure” comment is stupid. According to that logic, former drug users cannot counsel troubled youth because hey…they themselves used to love getting high. Hypocrites, right? I hate that argument.

Bob oathkeeper, why do you use that name? Are you not implicitly judging people who don’t keep their oaths? What’s wrong with breaking oaths? What’s so good about keeping them?

Judging sin as sin is not wrong. Would you tell someone not to speak of the evils of drug addiction or of abortion or of racist hatred? Nine of us are perfect. that is true. we all have our sins. And I in no way am claiming to be free of lust. Should I say lust is alright then? Should all of us not speak out against evil, just because none of us are perfect?

“If the jihadists decide to cut off the heads of the producers and distributors of this poison I’m not going to shed a tear.”

Isles, hey, advocating murder now? You might want to re-read your Bible a bit.

You also say: “Men’s lust over women, valuing women for the pleasure of their appearance and the sexual arousal they bring, totally devoid of love, marriage and the deeper joy that a union with a woman can bring.”

Finding women attractive is not a bad thing. Valuing women ONLY for their beauty is a bad thing. You’re making a false dichotomy by assuming these are the only two options.

By contrast, the ideal woman is both attractive and worthy of love. Unless you’ve expurgiated your Bible (which would be a sin), you should be able to find a chapter titled “Song of Songs” or “Song of Solomon”. I’d recommend you read it some time.

Foolbear, for that is what you are, The Song of Songs is about the love between a man and wife. It is not about lusting after the image of a naked woman not your wife, which is what you are praising.

And as for advocating murder, I am simply saying that my sesnse of justice does not require me to be sad at the wicked reaping what they have sown. Would you shed a tear at a drug dealer getting shot? If a Jihadist blew himself up, would that bother you greatly? I will not spend my tme weaping if those who profit at the exploitation of women and the poisoning of our culture are targeted by people far less tolerant than I. I would not oppose the prosecution of such murders, because law must be maintained, but my real sadness was that our society allowed such men to operate legally.

@Isles: “It is not about lusting after the image of a naked woman not your wife”

Uh, that’s exactly what the Song of Songs is about. Unless you buy into the allegorical interpretation, I guess.

The two lovers in the Song are not married (they do not live together, she is still in her mother’s house) but Solomon comes to her at night, begging her to open the door. She hesitates, he leaves, and then she runs naked to the door to try to catch him. The book is loaded with sexual desire and imagery between two people presumably engaged and in love with each other.

St. Augustine (and the Catholic church in general) is wrong about sex only being for procreation, and all other uses of it being a sin. The Old Testament, especially, is rather sex-positive. Esther. Tamar. And so forth.

Anyhow, your point that you’re not supposed to flee from beauty is just a mystifying one. There’s a difference between finding someone attractive and wanting to have sex (adultery) with someone who is not your wife. (It‘s also impossible to commit adultery if you’re not married.)

Foobear, the lovers in the Song of Solomon are betrothed. In that culture betrothal is stronger than marriage is now. they are relating to eachother as man and wife, not as casual fornicators.

But it is obvious that your sense of sexual morality is debased and you are incapable of reasoning like a Christian on this matter.

So you admit you’re wrong, and then claim my understanding of theology is debased? That’s certainly an interesting approach to take.

Being engaged *was* kinda-sorta like being married in ancient times. You were guilty of adultery for sleeping with another man when engaged to another. But they weren’t actually married. So that sort of undermines your claim above that the only appropriate time for sexual desire was in the marriage bed.

But don’t let the Bible get in the way of your presupposed notions, eh?

My heart breaks for this young lady and her family. I am also saddened by some of the comments I am reading. This isn’t a story for witty remarks. I pray God protects her from those who would harm her physically and especially those who have harmed her spiritually. I hope she finds remorse which will lead to forgiveness.

“Playing the whore”? Is she having sex with people for money?

I think this more closely related to the bits on “uncovering nakedness”. See if any of the following apply to you in Leviticus 18:6-17. In short, if you’re not related to her in any way, it is not wrong to uncover her nakedness.

Besides, nudity can be tasteful. Have you never been to the Louvre? Or read Genesis 2:25?

“Nudity can be tasteful” That is one of the great lies that Satan has used to destroy the concept of modesty in our culture. It began in the renaisance hwere artists revived pagan concepts of art and rejected Christian morality in portraying the naked form. But at least there was the pretense that it was art for beauty’s sake, to celebrate the beauty of God’s creatiojn of the human form. Now we have descended, through the help of degenerates like Heffner to portraying nudity purely for purient interest. It is stated clearly on the magazine cover. It is a magazine for men. Men’s lust over women, valuing women for the pleasure of their appearance and the sexual arousal they bring, totally devoid of love, marriage and the deeper joy that a union with a woman can bring. It debases women and men all in one fell swoop.

Where is modesty now? Where is propriety. Everything is greed and consumption, lust and avarice. And you wonder how our governmnet has gotten so large and taken over our freedoms. We are not worthy to have freedoms if we do not rule ourselves. If we act like beasts we will be corralled like them by the state.

So, where does the “playing the whore” come in, Isles? Or are you going to try to switch the topic to modesty, now? Or us “being no better than beasts and therefore we need the government to control us”? Fascinating, that paranoia.

There’s a level in between finding a woman to be pretty, wanting to have sex with her, and actually having sex with her. Jesus, in my opinion, is talking about the second during the sermon on the mount, just as when he talks about murder in a parallel verse.

Some Christians, Isles, do not understand this, though, and think that men are no better than “beasts” that will have sex with any woman they find attractive. Not only can thus be empirically proven to be false (otherwise we’d never leave a man and a woman alone in a room together, as in the similarly paranoid Victorian days), but it directly contributes to sin by convincing men that they just can’t control their impulses anyway.

Much better to acknowledge the desires of the body and then choose mentally whether to act on them or not.

Also, James 2:25 applies here. The lady is doing a good deed by putting her life on the line to make a point.

Foobear, you comment is foolish and shows no Christian understanding of modesty or lust. A woman who poses naked for Playboy knows she is exposing hjer body for the excitement of male lust. This is sinful and degrading to her. It is a whorish act even if she does not satisfy them physically because she is certainly aware that they will be physically aroused. To encourage such behavior is acting like beasts, not conrroling our passions and desires.

Anyone who says “You fool!” in the danger of hell. -Jesus

As to your other claims, let me answer with a tautology: It is not degrading to her if it is not degrading to her. Since she’s not degraded by it, she’s not degraded by it. This might be incomprehensible to you, but it’s very hard to argue against tautology.

As to her being sinful, answer: is nudity sinful? Be careful how you answer, since God created us sinless in a state of nudity.

Is admiring a woman’s breasts sinful? Then you’re in conflict with the Song of Solomon, which talks very openly about a woman’s beautiful breasts.

As I said, there‘s a serious difference between admiring a woman’s beauty and honestly wanting to have sex with her. It‘s probably very puzzling to you why more rapes don’t happen.

God created them naked. But you remember the Fall that came afterward, don’t you? After that they were ashamed and God CLOTHED them. He didn’t say to them, “But there’s nothimg to be ashamed of” Clothing is a factor of modesty which is a facet of our humility and an acknowledgment of the shame of sin.

And its‘ perfectly right to admire your own wife’s breasts. But you shouldn‘t be admiring the breasts of another woman who isn’t your wife. You seem to have a problem with that concept.

It’s also easy to argue with a tautology. You simply deny it. If I say murder isn‘t wrong if it isn’t wrong you could simply respond, “No, murder is wrong”, and that would be that. Whether she admits she is degraded by it is immaterial to whether she is or isn’t. It isn’t a matter of what she feels or thinks about her action. It is about the action itself.

      Report Post » Islesfordian

      Posted on April 29, 2011 at 6:15am

The shame came from themselves, not from God. God created them, perfectly, in the state of nudity. As I said, be very careful claiming that nudity is evil, as you’re attacking the direct creation of God.

“It’s also easy to argue with a tautology. You simply deny it” Right. You claimed that she is degraded – which means she has been shamed in her own eyes. But if she has not experienced shamed by being nude, then it is not shameful for her to be nude. Shame is not something you can necessarily apply to someone else (though people certainly try), it is wholly internal.

I understand where you’re coming from with your attitude of shame and guilt toward sexuality – it’s been part of the corrupted theology of the Roman Catholic Church (and presumably the EOC as well, though I’m less familiar with it) since the time of the patriarchs. It’s also non-Biblical: the reaction of people like St. Augustine (or, later, St. Francis) to profligate lifestyles as young adults. While the Bible is clear that ascetic choices should be entirely an *optional* lifestyle for individuals, the RCC has decreed that chastity is the order of business for the clergy, and declared sex only valid for procreation not for pleasure, again denying the reality of Song of Songs and other parts of the Bible.

While you’re certainly free to live within your world of shame and guilt, feeling like you’ve sinned every time you see a beautiful woman on the street, consider the fact that God created the angels as beautiful creatures. Would it make sense for people to sin every time they saw an angel? That’s the very heart of insanity – God’s messengers causing people to fall into sin every time they see them.

By contrast, think again about what I meant about there being a level between finding something attractive, and actively wanting to have sex with them, and committing adultery with them. Read again the story of the angels in Sodom and Gomorrah with this context, especially the part about the crowd.

Knowing what we know about the religion of peace, what did she think was going to be the reaction? She must have known. She’s pretty brave.

Spat at and shamed are the least of her worries. She had better get the heck out of Dodge before they stone or murder her. As we know, they do not make idle threats.

My wife was Miss February Penthouse Playmate many years ago. Our Daughter has been in Playboy three times and I never once thought I should kill either of them. Neither is aa western slut, just simply comfortable with themselves. In fact, I just found out my daughter is getting married soon to an AMERICAN and not some rag headed, impotent, Muslim extremist, psychotic lunatic, dehydrated, half starved, Mohamed a$$ licking nut job! And if I get banned from posting ever again, this was worth it!

They were not upset because she is muslim…they were mad because they heard a rumor that is was going to be a cover they’d find attractive…like a goat, sheep or camel. What a let down for ME men.

Ok folks, let’s get serious just for a moment…

What did she really expect?! I seriously doubt that Playboy offered her protection for the next 20 years, so she and her family are in trouble with the radical Islamist Crazies.

      Back to oooohing and aaahhhhing.

I would think she should be concerned about more than just being spat at. She could loose her head over this….Wait! No that can’t happen from such a tolerant group of people who control people by fear. Naw! there must be some mistake.

      @Banjarmon:

If that were true, the first look they took of their wives would also be their last as they killed themselves. So, sadly, no it is not true.

Right, because you’ld really want your daughter to do that. You’d be so proud to show naked pictures of her to your friends, “Hey, here’s my daughter naked! Take this into the bathroom with you.”

You should treat every women as if she were your wife, mother, sister or daughter, with the same respect and reverence. The sad thing is that many Muslim men do this but their respect means killing the women who “dishonor” them. They do not care about or honor women for themselves. People who are hooting at and lusting over this woman are not caring about her either.

I predict she will have many temporary husbands-if they can restrain themselves from the joy of snuff.
If they remember the intent is to make her pay for insulting Allah by showing infidels what is really
beneath the veil–and the burlap bags-she promises to have many temporary husbands. But Muslim men are not known to reign in their passion and find nothing more enjoyable than slaying other people. What a sick twisted religious Fraud straight from the evil Jin himself(Obama)
