‘My Brothers Died for You!‘ New LSU Vid Reveals Military Man’s Passionate Words

He is featured in one of the iconic images from today’s counter-protest at LSU. A military man, wearing camouflage and a beret, screaming at flag-burning planner Ben Haas as he tries to deliver prepared remarks (courtesy of The Daily Reveille):
(Photo: ADAM VACCARELLA / The Daily Reveille)
In a previous video, his words were indecipherable. Now, with a new video surfacing, we know what he said.
“My brother died for you!” he screams. “My brothers died for you! My brothers died for you! My brothers died for you! My brothers died– for you!”
In all, the soldier identified only by a name that appears to say “Froom” on his uniform, repeats the phrase five times before being separated from Haas by police.
His passionate screams can be heard in a video posted on YouTube by BatonRougeToday. That video also shows a clearer picture of Haas being pelted in the head with water balloons, and a police officer informing Haas that they were “moving you out for your safety:”

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 8:15pmYeah — civilians can. Soldier‘s can’t, or rather — shouldn’t.
In burning the flag, a soldier comes up and yells “my brothers died for you!” Well, arguably, the freedoms for which soldiers die does include flag burning as a form of protest. So, the soldier is attacking the very result of his actions to defend the liberties of this nation. I don’t care if the soldier, or anyone else disagrees with flag burning — it is a valid form of protest, and as you can counter-protest by waving the flag high.
People are so simple minded when it comes to these things. Liberty and freedom includes things that you may very well not like — that’s why we defend it. And, to turn around and say to ban it is just calling for more government intervention — which, is what so many people are opposed to…except when it suites their interests. Or, their “vision” of liberty/freedom.

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 7:45pmNice to see People sticking up for what is right. Some might say the threat of violence hear from the people is too great. The Founding Fathers knew that the threat of violence was a powerful thing. They knew it would be the only thing that could keep the communists from taking over. Hoorah to the person who thought of throwing water balloons, seems like a pretty creative way of counter protesting, and it makes it hard to light a match, if they are all wet.

Civilians tend to not know that the rights of a soldier are limited while serving, and especially while in uniform. Current soldiers, and Vets at times feel this “limitation of rights” while serving. IE. You can’t go to a political rally in uniform even if it is to support war, military funding, etc.
What I found odd was the lack of his unit crest on his beret. He has a unit patch on his arm, but no unit crest. If anything he’s new to the Army — hopefully his rank, and time in service will spare him the lashing of his superiors.
While the loss of his brother is indeed tragic — he’s a soldier, and must maintain his military bearing. Especially while in uniform.

Look at all the laws about flying a flag and the big communist movement in our towns about flags being too big. Within the same laws, there are laws about how a flag is to be PROPERLY laid to rest along with laws about discracing it. Do some homework people.

Isnt it always this way that troops die so tree hugging, pot smoking, birkenstock wearing, Berkeley loving can turn around and burn(attempt in this case) the flag and run their mouths. The liberties troops put their lives on the lne for to protect are taken advantage of by these liberal degenerates. The hypocrisy is off the charts. I am quite frankly tired of it. Be forewarned all you liberal zombie drones myself and countless others will bring this fight to your front door. I loved the reaction of everyone who counter protested today. Take note America either start fighting back or sit down and shut up. The grub has no right to NOT be confronted, free speech has consequences. Anyone who believes that speech should be without consequences doesn’t actually believe in free speech. However, I am so glad for all the students and proflag protesters that were out there to show support for the United States hopefully Haas has learned something today. Hopefully that America is a wonderful place to be and we are still willing to defend Her and Her symbols. Thank You Lord for your Spirit of grace and mercy. Please help us restore this Republic to a Godly nation that Your pleasure will be full and that we may rejoyce in givening you pleasure. Inspire the young in this nation not only to defend the flag, but the innocent children that we kill each day, the Godly state of Marriage between a man and a woman. Let them be drawn to You O’Lord that they might rebuild this country into not only a great nation once again but into a true One Nation Under God. Father I pray this in Jesus Name.

Posted on May 12, 2011 at 11:40amSince no one wanted to address my comments in the previous article of this incident, I’ll repost it here.
What would you rather protect? The symbol of freedom or the actual freedom it represents? I’m a patriot, I’ve fought in the war in Afghanistan twice. I respect the flag and love my country. The right to be able to stand up against the government, by any means necessary, is a necessary right to have.
I’m hoping this guy reads my post, this is in regard to his post from the original article:
@AMERICANBIKER stated he wanted the Constitution changed to make it illegal to burn the flag, the proper method to this issue. But his reasoning is so that we can arrest them and put them in jail as “political prisoners” and bury them in a deep mine shaft where they’d put a plaque up stating how much we love America. Until it backfires on him and all tea party members are considered outlaws and sent to this same mine shaft prison, along with him and his entire family. Be careful what you wish for American Biker.
