As you people pass a donation box at a museum or memorial, it’s not uncommon to see people digging into their pants pockets for spare coins and bills to share. But one random donation box hanging at the future September 11 memorial site in New York stunned officials when they discovered $10,000 anonymously deposited, a sizable donation to help build the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.

Joe Daniels, president of the memorial and museum fund, said the donation of 99 $100 bill and five $20s were retrieved Tuesday evening from the memorial preview site at Ground Zero, the former location of the World Trade Center’s twin towers.
Memorial officials think the anonymous donor slipped the money into the box between 5pm — when the box was last checked — and 7pm when the site closed. The donation is believed to have been made by a single person and site officials said the bills were crisp and unfolded, as if they’d recently been withdrawn from a bank.
Around 3,000 people reportedly visit the memorial preview site every day, where they can see plans for the Freedom Tower memorial.
Kyle Miller, 23, of Bangor, Penn., told the Post: “I think it’s great because it shows that people are supporting our nation. And whoever gave it isn’t looking for anything in return.”
To date, the memorial fund has raised $370 million for construction and future operation of the memorial site.

The only conclusion is that he hates the 9/11 victims and thier families.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 1:57pmWhy does Glenn Beck hate the families of the victims of 9/11?
“When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I’m just like, ‘Oh shut up’ I‘m so sick of them because they’re always complaining.” –”The Glenn Beck Program,” Sept. 9, 2005

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 1:16amGod Bless all the people who’ve donated. God Bless the man or woman who donated $10,000 without wanting any recognition at all for the donation. That is true charity! Give of yourselves… without expecting thanks or anything in return. For giving is it’s own reward. *smiles*

Posted on October 21, 2010 at 11:10pmYou speak cow excrement, good Psychosis. But we’re used to that.
The average Luxembourgian gives 8 times as much to charity as the average American ($114 compared to $14). The average Norwegian about 7 times as much ($96). The average Swede more than 4 times as much ($66). In absolute terms, we give a little more than France and Germany combined ($28,6 billion compared to $24.5 billion). Those two countries combined are a fraction of the size of the USA and much less than half the population.
Oh, and if I shall name a socialist country that matches, I’ll name Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Ireland and the UK. I could name 13 more until the USA appears on the list.
Kudos to that guy giving 10k. Really, I applaud him. But otherwise, we suck at charity. So let’s do something about it.

Posted on October 21, 2010 at 11:03pmTo paraphrase a sign in a bar near here.. We live were the payment ends and America begins. While approaching the 9th tee I noticed I didn’t have my wallet. My golfing partner, from out of town, said I was lucky because if someone finds my wallet they will bring it over to my house.
That is how I know I live where America begins…
