NAACP Bars Allen West From Giving Keynote Address Following His ‘Communist’ Remarks

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) has taken intense heat from the media and the left over his statement that there are “78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party.” In the wake of the controversy that has resulted from his remarks, West, who was slated to be a speaker at an event hosted by the Martin County chapter of the NAACP this past Saturday, was disinvited from addressing the group.

Mediaite has more about the reasons behind the decision to axe the congressman as the event’s keynote speaker:
In Martin County chapter president Jerry Gore‘s own words: “There’s a certain statement he made about Communists.”
“That statement alone,” Gore added. “….We do not represent that type of atmosphere.”
The statement in question is, of course, when Rep. Allen said that “I believe there’s about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party who are members of the Communist Party … It’s called the Congressional Progressive Caucus.”
The Freedom Fund Banquet was going to have the theme “Still Standing For Freedom and Equality.” West was asked to speak about his rise to fame.
Due to the NAACP’s non-partisan status, Gore said that it would be problematic to host West as a speaker following such party-driven claims, TCPalm.com reports. As a result of the decision, the banquet has been rescheduled for Sept. 15, as organizers are seeking a replacement for West.

The congressman’s initial claim was made at a town hall event earlier this month. Last week, West’s statement about the Congressional Progressive Caucus gained even more prominence when CNN‘s Soledad O’Brien demanded on-air that he “name names.”

We need to respect Lt. Colonel West, US Congressional Representative of Florida (R-Plantation), who gave up his independence to live communally with his comrades in arms, sacrificing his capitalist rights to profit from his labor and even relinquishing his freedom of choice to swear to faithfully follow orders handed down the chain of command.
Guys like him can spot Communists a mile away!
He NEEDS to be our next Vice President – and will serve at least as well as Dick Cheney would!

The bottom line is that as more and more of the Communist objectives to destroy the USA are accomplished, we will reach the tipping point with regards to tolerating talk from anti-American’s such as in the CBC, NAACP, NOI, etc.
The George Zimmerman situation has fully exposed the racist element in our society and in our goverment. No words of outrage were heard from the CBC, Obama, or Holder for the calls of vigilantism against Zimmerman by radical black racists.
If and when racial war breaks out on a large scale here in the US, no one will care what happens to those racists’ who have for so long used color to their advantage.

It has ALWAYS bothered me that Obama spoke of their working over “the NEXT 100 years.”
If this organization truly desires to eradicate racial inequality or bias, etc., it would do everything possible not to NEED to exist ANOTHER 100 years. It should be going about the business of being so successful it need not remain in business. 100 years is a very long time.
To continue to be needed, it must continue to separate, divide, and drum up racism in places where it may not be! That is how you know the NAACP is now just another pot-stirring, separatist group.
What a shame is doesn’t allow other viewpoints. What are they so threatened by? The truth coming out?

I think, though, that many of us don‘t buy that explanation because of the organization’s inconsistency (selective application) of that standard. Or maybe it’s a new standard. A recent example of when the same standard wasn’t applied? Last year, Maxine Waters spoke of the threat of the clock being turned back on voters rights and her fear that they are trying to return us to Jim Crow laws. Yet she spoke at the National convention, not just a regional one. How much more hyper-partisan could she have been to make such a ridiculous and racist, unsubstantiated statement like that? It just doesn‘t pass the smell test that there isn’t more to the recent decision about West, like maybe West hitting a nerve with some of the Progressives he was speaking about ([ehem, Waters herself] that the communists claim to be fighting the same fight) that belong to the NAACP. (One can find these statements by Waters at “The Root.”)
