Caught on Video: Naked Woman Runs Into Liquor Store to Escape Kidnapping by Father

Naked Woman Runs Into Indiana Liquor Store After Escaping Alleged Kidnapper Father

Via KCTV 5 News

A 21-year-old woman ran naked along Indiana highway into a liquor store on Monday, screaming that her father was going to kill her. Moments later, surveillance footage shows, a half-dressed man showed up, dragged her into his car and attempted to drive off with her before he was blocked by a police car.

The father, identified as Martin Jonassen, allegedly kidnapped the woman from her Missouri home last Saturday and had held her for two days, Kansas City’s KCTV reported. The woman, whose name has not been released, told police she escaped when her father thought she was taking a shower.

“She was scared to death, you could tell that,” liquor store clerk Sandy Farley told KCTV. “She was shaking. There’s like a twine rope around each ankle, like I don’t know if she had pulled loose from something, being tied up.”

The woman tried desperately to fight Jonassen off when he ran into the store after her. Surveillance video shows her scrabbling for a cooler door and then for the front door frame. He threw her in a headlock, overpowering her and dragging her outside and into his car.

“I’m freaking out. A naked lady comes into the liquor store, begging for her life,” store manager Brandon Hatch said. “We didn’t know if the guy had a gun or anything.”

Police arrived and managed to box Jonassen’s car in and ordered him out at gunpoint. He was arrested and charged with felony criminal confinement and battery.

Who was the pillar of brilliance who thought it a good idea to run a Steak and Shake ad right before the ‘woman runs naked into liquor store to escape kidnapping by father’ story?

I’m sure the ads after these stories are random, but someone needs to program these things not to run goofy upbeat ads right before a horrific news story. Just plain laziness and ineptitude on the part of the advertising agency for this to happen.

I agree. Real men don’t wuzzie out in situations like this, standing back hoping the police arrive. Real men step up and help women in distress. Yes, I’m old fashioned. I expect men to protect me if I run in screaming for help, and I can’t protect myself. Gun or no gun, there isn’t a man in my family who would have taken a chance this woman would be further injured. There would have been a fight in that store, and I know who would have won.

Anytime you do not have the right to carry a gun, you have to assume the criminal has one and act accordingly. If the state allows you to carry a gun and you work in a liquor, you better have 2 guns. The store manager should have had a gun and USED it!

A few years ago I broke up a fight between a guy and his girlfriend. He was smacking her in the head and she was crying. She later claimed that I had “butted in” and that he hadn’t touched her. I was later questioned by the Police for assaulting her boyfriend but it was dropped because other people came forward and told the Police they had seen her being smacked and crying too. As a landlord I have seen many times when a woman would be bullied physically and then deny it when the Police would show up. They would come and take the man to jail or make him leave for the night but within a few days they would be back together. The moral of the story… Be very careful if you decide to intervene because you could be the one getting arrested.

Did you learn US history in a public school? I’ve not ever learned, nor has my research revealed, that incest was ever a common and/or accepted practice during ‘frontier’ times… Ancient India, Hindu mythology, ancient Greece and ancient Egyptians, maybe…but not in this country’s history.

The word ‘incest’ was introduced into Middle English around 1225 as a legal term to describe the crime of familial incest as it is known today.

I think you’ve somehow blurred the lines between some ancient civilizations, more recent US history, and some low class jokes….
