Nancy Pelosi Hospitalized in Rome

ROME (AP) — An Italian news agency says that U.S. House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized briefly in Rome with a minor ailment.
Pelosi, a former House speaker, had been scheduled to hold talks with Italian officials, including the defense minister, but the ANSA news agency said she was briefly hospitalized Monday at Rome’s Policlinico and then released.
ANSA said she suffered a minor ailment but did not give any details.
The U.S. Embassy in Rome declined comment. Pelosi’s office in Washington repeatedly refused requests Monday for information.
UPDATE from AP:
“After several flights yesterday in Afghanistan, and a long flight back to Italy that arrived early this morning, Leader Pelosi was not feeling well,” spokesman Nadeam Elshami said in a statement released in Washington. “This morning in Rome, the leader was advised to visit a clinic, and the closest medical facility was a hospital.”
The statement said Pelosi was resuming her schedule in Italy.
The ANSA news agency said the 70-year-old was taken to Rome’s Policlinico hospital, where she underwent tests. She was then released and went back to the Rome hotel, ANSA said.

I daily pray for our government, including the boy president, but I cannot wait until they are defeated in the elections. I will personally dance in the streets. They are Darth Vader-types and should NOT be applauded or revered in any way. However, having said that, the Bible tells us to pray for our enemies and then GOD Himself will heap hot coals upon their heads, which I believe has begun to happen because they have made so many mistakes that are so easy to see by most of us, that it will be their undoing.

What was she doing there? Well, from what I can find, she was part of a “bi-partisan” delegation visiting Afghanistan meeting Karzai and military leaders and troops – why? Does she have some authority bestowed on her to authorize anything? And Italy is having their 150th anniversary as a country and she‘ll meet with the leader of Italy’s “lower house” and Italy’s Defense Minister, but again, why? She‘s never given a rat’s behind about defense here in the U.S., she has no authority to make any deals – unless Obama delegated something to her in secret – and she can’t even promise to deliver House votes any more. The visit sure does sound “official” as in “we’re paying for it” but I don‘t see us getting our money’s worth. The waste continues.
