Nancy Pelosi Says Shes Deeply Disappointed in Weiner, Calls for Ethics InvestigationHouse Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) wasted no time in addressing Rep. Anthony Weiner’s explosive scandal. In a statement released earlier this evening, Pelosi joined Rep. Steve Israel in calling for an investigation over the sexually-explicit photographs and conversations the congressman had with at least six women over the past three years. According to Politico, Pelosi wrote:

I am deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation; for Anthony’s wife, Huma, his family, his staff and his constituents

I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred.

So far no one from the Democrats’ side has asked Weiner to step down. But, this formal announcement that an investigation will be launched is certainly not good news for the embattled lawmaker.

    Looks like Pelosi did a great job draining that swamp. I commend her on her hard work and proactive strategies for rooting out all of the scandalous, lying pieces of dog mess that infect Washington. We have a dire need more politicians like her who can emulate her successes in the field of politics.

    How hard woudl it be to go back and see what the Rep. Wiener’s recommendations have been when Republicans have slipped up? Shouldn’t it then be okay to apply his own advice to him. I’m guessing he has called for more than a few resignations during his days in office. This guy’s a loudmouth and I for one would love to see him gone.

      Politically it would be best for us if Weiner did not resign. He’s a wounded and ineffectual politician now and will have this hanging over him in the next election. His district is solidly democratic but if he’s the democrat on the ticket in 2012 some democrats might just vote third party.

      So don’t resign for US, Anthony. Resign for yourself and for your family. You have a brief window of spiritual honesty and humility here. The only way you will gain some control over your self destructive demons is to embrace your repentance and not try to keep protecting and defending yourself, which is exactly what you will begin to do again if you remain in politics. The only way to starve the pervert a**hole inside you is to flee the ego trip that is being a democratic politician and media hound.

And I would venture to guess the same outcome will emerge with this one. Why are they allowed to police themselves? The only way anyone will be convicted of an ethics violation is if it is a Republican, period. Her investigation is going to be a committee that will discuss how to clean it up and make it go away.

      Hold the presses! Wondering why Pelosi would call for ethics investigation, and it came to me.
      This is her way to distract us so Obama can continue to kick the the can down the road of destruction to our American ways. We need to be little slaves to them to work out their cause.

      It’s clear what this means. Obama is in trouble and needs help from the only woman who can help with her deceitful way of getting the press off his back. The old story, a shell game to distract what the other hand is doing. Let’s start paying more attention. With the exception of Palosi, we need a good, smart, ethical woman in the WH to bring an end to the horrible term of the current office holder.

      We’ve lost our way, our money, our jobs, our standing in the world, our everything that was important to keep America strong and to keep gasoline prices down.
      We have more energy in our country we can’t get to because of the reluctance to drill with all the stupid environmental restrictions. What good is a clean environment that skrews all of us? Most of this stuff had nothing to do with a clean America, it’s all a game to keep us dependent on the government for their very existence, at least that’s what they hoped. I believe God takes care of our planet, and yes a little common sense on our part, but not what these folks are doing to us.
