National Gun Control Group Uses Al Qaeda Threat to Push For Stricter Firearm RegulationEarlier this month, The Blaze showed you chilling video featuring U.S. born Al-Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn. In the clip, the terror official called on American Muslims to exploit loopholes by purchasing weapons from gun shows. Then, he encouraged adherents to carry out random domestic attacks. Now, The Coalition of Mayors Against Illegal Guns is seizing upon Gadahn’s words to push for stricter U.S. gun control measures.

Earlier today, the group unleashed an ad campaign that features the terror “executive’s” horrifying proclamations. The commercial, set to run on cable networks including CNN, FOX News and MSNBC, is likely geared toward lawmakers who have yet to reform gun laws to a level the coalition deems palatable. The Huffington Post has more:

“The latest al Qaeda plot instructs terrorists on how to buy guns in America,” the ad says, before shifting to audio of Gadahn.

The al Qaeda spokesman declares: “This is a golden opportunity. America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show … and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle without a background check. … So what are you waiting for?”

“Call your member of Congress,” the ad concludes. “Tell them to close the loopholes that let terrorists and criminals buy guns.”

Currently, a loophole exists that permits private venders to sell firearms without the same in-depth background checks that federally-licensed dealers are required to conduct. This, clearly, is something the coalition takes issue with.

      Agreed. Full-auto weaponry is VERY tightly controlled and not available to anyone without a Class 3 permit, very difficult to obtain.
      Personally, I will not use full-auto, it is unnecessary as it harms accuracy and wastes ammo.

      First off it requires a special tax stamp from the ATF complete with a background check to own a full auto weapon. People with unpaid fish & game tickets have been denied the purchase of a semi-auto firearm so I’m not worried about abdul prancing in to the store & going rambo. Second the firing assembly components are quite different from semi-auto and not available online or at the local shop. An FFL license to a gun store owner is similar to a restaurant’s certification from the local health inspector. If you lose that certification, your career is over. FFL dealers only risk their license when the ATF asks them to allow thug criminals to purchase weapons headed for Mexico.

      It is not as simple as you describe to convert a weapon. In fact it would take someone with machining ability along with the proper equipment, blueprints and the knowledge of what they are trying to accomplish, something your average jihadi sorely lacks. A jihadi would purchase a weapon from a drug cartel rather than outfitting a machine shop and spend all that time learning.

      Sadly, with the death of Osama Bin Laden, Al Quaeda has given up on 9-11 style attacks, attacks killing thousands of people. The US, starting with Bush and continued by Obama, have made those kinds of attacks next to impossible. But “lone wolf” attacks, or attacks by a small group of people are easy by comparison. Actually we already see a lot of that in this country (does “going postal” ring a bell? or Columbine?). Thanks to “loopholes” as the article says, a few people with money can go to a gun show and buy enough firepower to kill a few hundred people in a mall or any public place. Simple, the second amendment so beloved by the right.

      It’ll happen. It’s already happening every few months. But when a few Muslims do it, no problem. Just blame it on President Obama. Your conscience will be clear.

      Ok I gotta set the record straight. No one can go to any gun show, dealer, pawn shop, or related business and buy a Fully Automatic weapon in the united states, without a class 3 tax stamp. This process takes at least 3 months and is granted to the owner by the BATF after a thurogh background check including photos and fingerprints and $. They are blaintely lying to manipulate un informed folks. Last the cheapest full auto assault rifle you can find will run you about $20K. Please tell everyone you ever meet for the rest of your life so we don’t loose our rights to these lying socialists.

      As in the clip posted by Cessna a short while ago, the nazis limited Austria’s gun owners rights in order to keep the population safe. Then it was a short step from there to ban guns altogether.

      And who is prominent among them? Mayor Bloomberg, that’s who. It is worth cruising around this site. Their advertisement is prominent on the various pages.

      There is a monster ad campaign under way, including TV ads on most channels, using this fake clip to scare people. This is certainly not cheap. Where is the money coming from? City coffers? Soros?

      The NRA just needs to point out, in TV ads, that the original Adam Pearlman video is a fake and the whole thing collapses. But that won’t be cheap either. Do it or lose the 2nd amendment, I think.

      I just can not imagine not wanting to be able to stand and protect your loved ones when violence occurs. I feel better (and my wife) knowing that if we are out and about and some crackpot decides to hurt people and my family- I can end it right there or at least go out “with my boots on.” Why wait for the police to show up and draw chalk lines around your loved one’s bodies?

      They make it sound sooo easy you may be able to buy a AUTO LOADER but not a FULL AUTO weapon at a gun show with out any paper trail !!! Any person that has a full auto for sale at a gun show is going to have ALL the PAPER WORK !!! now if your talking on the streets thats another story and good luck finding the guy that has them he just might be a SPOOK and your off to jail

      Did Hilary or Samantha Powers ask some of their muslim brotherhood friends to make that video about acquiring firearms at gun shows as another method of curtailing 2nd amendment rights? You know how progressives work – create a problem then offer a solution.

      Seems like this was a one two punch setup. In light of project gunrunner and fast & furious which we now know was a setup / false flag to drive up gun related violence in order to usher in new gun controls, this story is icing on the cake. Apparently Hilary & crew think they are so smart going about gun control this way rather than in congress which contributed to their landslide loss in the 94 elections.

      I have yet to find a gun show, even in states were it is LEAGL to own automatic weapons, were you can just stroll in a put one up, even from a private party. There is a TON of parework needed for the transfer, even between private parties, that must go through the batf.
      So these guys are hoping some rag head terrorist buys a gun at a gun show and then shoots up the local mall……kind of like went clinto said most of the guns in the mexico drug wars were from here, so the batf had to set up “operation fast and furious” to prove her right. I wonder how long it will take the batf to find a ******* that they can talk in to this? I hope they try it in a state that has legal carry and about 20 people open fire on his ass before he can finish “alleh ack…..”
