‘National Same-Sex Kiss Day’ Met With Deafening Silence at Texas Chick-fil-A

(Source: Facebook)

The clock on the wall read 7:02 p.m. (central time), two minutes after “National Same-Sex Kiss Day” was scheduled to begin at Chick-fil-A restaurants across that nation on Friday. But there were no protesters to be found. In fact, even for a regular day at the fast food joint, business seemed slow.

This particular Chick-fil-A, located near Dallas, Texas, hadn’t seen any gay rights activists all day, the manager told TheBlaze.

Soon, the clock struck 7:15 p.m. and then 7:30 p.m. and still — no protesters. Not even a smooch.

It’s interesting given the explosion of media coverage that the so-called protest received leading up the event, scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. National Same-Sex Kiss Day was created to protest the restaurant owner’s decision to publicly back traditional marriage, but it seemingly failed to generate the amount of support organizers were hoping for — at least at this particular location. To be sure, that same exact restaurant was packed with customers on Wednesday.

As of 9:11 p.m. ET on Friday, the manager of the restaurant told TheBlaze they had not seen a single protester.

So, how did “National Same-Sex Kiss Day“ compare to ”Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” on Wednesday? Take a look for yourself:

The Atlanta-based company confirmed in a statement that they broke the daily sales record Wednesday.

If you want to take a look at some of the same-sex kisses that actually happened at various Chick-fil-As across the U.S., the event’s official Facebook page has been posting some throughout the day.

It was reported earlier today that the cops were called at a Chick-fil-A in Hollywood. But not on protesters — on the media. Reporters were allegedly harassing employees at the restaurant trying to get commentary about the “kiss in” protests, TMZ reports.

Head over to Twitchy.com for more coverage on same-sex kiss stunt and how it stacked up to Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.

MartyTr says, “I don’t think they had a clue as to how tolerant we have been. If they’re going to get nasty, we aren’t going to be tolerant.”

That’s an mysterious remark MartyTr. Who is “we?” What group is that? Who is this “they” that you talk about. Can you explain who that group consists of?

What have you expressed your “tolerance” for and in what way?

Is kissing someone being “nasty?“ What do you mean when you say ”nasty?”

MartyTr, to me you sound like maybe you’re a little slow. Maybe never quite made in life. But I would really like to hear how you built up your tolerance toward other Americans who are not like you and what you intend to do once your threshold is reached.

“We’ve been tolerant,” = straigth people
“Tolerant” = Put up with something we find unnatural and abhorent includeing behavior in public that straight couples are arrested for.

Before you call someone slow prehaps you should do a grammer check, fact check, spell check.

      JZS ~

I guess a comment could be interpreted in whatever way the reader wants. There wasn‘t anything insidious in MartyTR’s posting. At least, not how I took it.

When the original movement was in the name of compassion, I believed them and was understanding of their want to have hospital visits, be on each other’s insurance policy, etc. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, we can see that it really had nothing to do with their initial petition. That was only a way to get a foot in the door. Our compassion (or tolerance) was taken advantage of. Now we are guarded and won’t buy into the deception any longer.

“We” being those of us who went against our better judgment.

And “nasty” could be another way of saying not playing by acceptable standards. Could be in reference to making out in public (which I wouldn’t want to see anyone doing, thank you) or labeling me a hater because I disagree with them.

Side note – when canceling my account with Amazon, I gave the reason as not wanting to deal with a company who’s CEO is anti traditional marriage. See, I can learn and use these tactics as well.

But your final comment to MartyTR is what bothers me the most. You tried to belittle him and his intelligence, and then insinuated that he was implying harm. Now that’s insidious.

And so goes my 5X’s as long explanation.

I think a high percentage of “Gays” and “Lesbians” are totally “Embarrassed” with what has been taking place because specific “Radical” ones are making a “Mockery” of everything. All they are doing is bringing “Negative” attention to “All” Gays and Lesbians who want to lead a somewhat “Quiet” existence. Just like when they hold the Gay and Lesbian Parade in NYC you end up seeing more of a “Freak Show” then anything else. It’s to bad because it “Reflects” off of everyone of them even the ones that want to live “Private” lives and can’t.

JZS, so now who’s being intolerant? Comrade, slow down and try to think just a little bit. Even your heroes, Lenin, Stalin, Adolph, and Mao were intolerant of homosexuals and had a bad tendency to express their intolerance by the use of meat hooks.
Others of your “friends” are also somewhat intolerant of homosexuals, Islam. Only there they get to stone them to death in public.
It’s only lately, mainly in the “decadent” “civilized” western culture that your friends have been attempting to subvert our morals, our religion, our government, using homosexuals as a tool.
So, comrade, before you talk about intolerance, understand that this is just another tool being used by idiots and useful idiots in their attempt to bring to the dirty, unwashed, masses, of Western Civilization the joy of World Communism.
But, also bear in mind, the idiots, useful idiots, homosexuals and other deviants, usually get lined up along the ditch and shot first, before those that won’t accept the lie of Communism.

We also showed that they are of the minority in opinion and numbers. They can’t generate the support we can. They just make alot of annoying noise that the media loves to focus on. The MSM ignored us on our day because they don’t want to show the truth. America is sinking and we are fighting hard to right the ship. When I refer to “they” I am refering to the left be they gay or not because it is the left that is trying to take our freedoms away. In this instance as in many they are simply using the small percent of our population that are gay to attack our freedom of speech and right to our own opinion. It is really sad for the gay community that they let themselves be used this way.

What will we do. Take picture of two guys kissing. Show them to our sons. Explain to them that they are self made losers. That is a take away from an economics study that showed that on the margins homosexuality increases, when people’s income decreases. Would we want our sons to persecute these beta males? Heck No! They should pity them. They were fed a line of tripe.

We’ll further teach them more about homosexuality so that they have the arguments to combat the wheedling, insinuating arguments of the left. We’ll look discuss the wrecks of the lives of famous gays of the recent past & the ancient times. A close look at Greek, Roman & Turkish homosexuality is not pretty. It is more about bored elites behaving badly because they can.

I wonder where in the Bible it says to hate people ? You fake Christians are full of hate, why don’t you go down to the local homeless shelter & help out there ? I like Reading the stories I see on the Blaze, I used to DVR Glenn when he was on fox & I even used to listen to his Radio program & always enjoyed the way he uses peoples own words against them. I do not listen or watch his Internet program because I don’t have time. I was shocked to see Glenn come out hating on his fellow Americans. It was Glenn who opened my eyes & convinced me to register as an Independent vs a Republican because I never really did march along party lines. I bitch about both sides. I see so many people on here from time to time talking about being a Christian & I am ok with that even though I am agnostic. I am one of those people who require Proof before I buy into something, but I wonder how many of you “so called Christians” Know that Glenn is not one of you ? He is a MORMON which means he wears the same “magic underwear” that mitt Romney wears. I see you Fake Christians saying how the Gay people CHOSE to be gay & this brings me to the question of IF a Gay person chose to be gay then did a Straight person choose to be straight? If so, then you must be attracted to people of the same sex, but chose not to act on it. I am a straight guy & I never had to make any choice. I am only attracted to women. The bible is for people who cannot think for themselves & need to be told what to think.

Walkabout says, “We’ll take picture (sic) & gays like you (sic)….” Walkabout, it‘s a silly claim that I’m homosexual isn’t it? If I stand up for blacks or Jews or Mexicans or other minorities that doesn‘t mean I’m a member of that group does it? I imagine it is hard for you to understand that someone who stands up for minority rights is not a member of those groups and defending themselves rather than simply defending the rights of everyone, for equal rights for everyone.

On another issue I do want to help improve your vocabulary. You are confused about the terms heterosexuality, homosexuality and pedophilia. You suggest that heterosexuals want to have sex with young girls, or even female babies. You claim that being heterosexuality leads to men to abuse minors. You are wrong.

Being a heterosexual male does not make a person more likely to be a pedophile. The fact that you make that claim makes me wonder a little about you to be honest. If you want to claim that heterosexuality is the cause of abuse of the victims who suffer from it, well that’s your opinion. But good luck finding anyone who agrees with you.

      RJ,
You are the fool here, Btw, No one cares for your boring life story but let me help you out with your total ignorance of what the Bible truly says. It’s not about hate as you weak thinkers want to parrot all the time, it’s about adhering to the truth and not distorting it to placate an agenda.
It’s clear you cherry-pick many parts of scripture that suit your agenda but that seemingly goes hand in hand with what many gay apologists are doing these days.
Jesus never said anything regarding homosexuality so that must make it okay, right?
Not if you consider the facts.
Jesus also never said anything about rape, incest or domestic violence. Are those things okay, too?
There are many teachings and deeds of Christ that are not included in the Gospel accounts, as John writes in John 21:25.
Christ did say that God created people “in the beginning” as male and female, and that marriage is the union of one man and one woman joined together as “one flesh.” (Matthew 19:4-6 and Mark 10:6-9) Nothing whatsoever else is said about any other type of union.
When Jesus discussed sexual morality, Christ had a very high standard, clearly affirming long-standing Jewish law. He told the woman caught in adultery to “Go and sin no more.” John 8:11. Jesus warned people not only that the act of adultery was wrong, but even adulterous thoughts. Matthew 5:28
And he shamed the woman at the well John 4:18 by pointing out to her that he knew she was living with a man who was no

Finally, the apostles, who were taught by Christ, clearly understood that homosexuality was a sin as it has always been. @ThePostman

Thanks. Those are the pictures we need to see. My only options to support Chick-fil-A are my words or buying a plane ticket to get beyond Big Sis’ checkpoints at the airport in MPLS to buy a sandwich inside the “secured” area. Chick-fil-A does not have much of a presence in MN

We had above average turnout to eat and support CFA in Mission, Texas. It took over 20 min to get my order in the drive-thru. There were lots of folks going inside to get a carryout order, too. Moms w/kids in tow. Law enforcement, Border Patrol, etc.

We support traditional marriage and family structures!

I went this afternoon, around 3:30. I did not know there was a time schedule for the ‘kiss-in’. Just figured it was whatever time of the day. It was nowhere near as crowded as it was Wednesday, but there was a constant stream of people both through the drive thru as well as in and out of the building. No evidence of any smoochers.

I was home alone when I decided to go, so I brought my two pups (including the one shown by my name). They enjoyed a few nuggets while I sipped on some good lemonade. :)

Hit our local Chick-Fil-A, in Laguna Niguel, CA, at about 3:00 PM. There was on male protester, who appeared to be in his late teens or early twenties. He was holding a small sign that read, “Go ahead and eat, Bigot.“ I thought that was pretty funny being called a derogatory name from the ultimate ”victims” who seem to cry about every single name they claim to be called.

I thought of something when I first saw this “protest”. You are not allowed to protest inside someone else’s business. I am unsure on the specific laws, but if they are not a customer of the business, I believe they could be arrested for – I want to say loitering? If they are a customer in order to carry out the protest, then they just financially supported the business they were trying to protest. The whole thing didn’t seem like it would work to me.

A business has a right to not serve whom ever they want. They also have a right to call the police if people are actively hindering their business, like if people do a sit in in front of their door. In that case the police/sheriff have a reason to arrest those blocking the door.

I don‘t like what they’ve created in our society. Nothing decent…nothing good….and the hell of it is, most gays are not like these fanatics. It’s not a surprise that the “gay” protest would fail. They comprise less than 1% of the U.S. population, even though the MSM has been trying for years to make it seem like their lifestyle is commonplace. There are simply not enough hysterical “gays” in the country who want to make a public spectacle of themselves.

You’re so right. I don’t know any of the gay adults (or students) I know or am friends with who would waste their time with such foolishness. They have jobs, they’re busy. They’re just being people – you know, people for whom their intimacies only fill a small part of their day like anyone else. In fact, they easily could have gone to CFA Wednesday to support free speech. Like we’ve heard and read this week – first they came for the Christians….and then they came for the non-Christians. I think that pretty much includes everybody, one way or the other. I just don‘t know where they’re going to put all of us – and then where they’re going to put each other – because they WILL turn on each other, too.

They probably don’t want to be “outed”. They are ashamed of who they are by and large. Like the student at Rutgers University. His room mate secretly filmed him with a date. When the film was reviewed, the date turned out to be another guy. Uh Oh! Newly outed gay student jumped off a bridge a killed himself. If gaydom is so cool, why did this guy jump off the bridge? He must not have been so proud of it.

I visited our N. Huntsville AL, Chick-fil-A around 1100am. It was packed! Not as many as on 1 AUG 2012, but the lines at the cash register starting to meander throug the building, the parking lot was full, and the traffic on both intersecting four lanes were backing-up. There was another line-wall-maze of support for America and Chick-fil-As’ freedom from bias today!

I spoke with the Manager and asked about the 1 AUG numbers. He stated that they received approximately 3 times the business income. A standard weekday serves around 1400 customers. 1 AUG 2012 served over 4000 customers.

      We surround them.
