Navy SEAL Smackdown? Jesse Ventura Denies Sniper’s Story

One of the biggest non-election items on The Blaze last week featured former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s story about decking another former SEAL, Jesse Ventura, in a one-punch bar fight. According to Kyle, Ventura was bashing the SEALs and the military during a funeral gathering.

The video in the story went viral and has also prompted a response from the alleged victim, Jesse Ventura. On Sunday night (and reportedly from his home in Mexico), the former Minnesota governor took to Facebook and posted his “official” response to the Kyle’s story. In short, he’s calling it false.

“The event this man spoke of never happened,” he wrote. He went on to call it a “lie:”

The event this man spoke of never happened. I have been to Mc P’s many times since leaving the Navy. I was never there alone. I was always accompanied by other people. If this happened 6 years ago, someone would have known of it before now. Certainly in the UDT/SEAL community it would have been known. This has to be news to all of us.

I have always opposed the war in Iraq but I have never spoken or wished any ill will towards the soldiers. My heart aches that soldiers have died or been wounded because this war should never have taken place. I am perplexed over the agenda this man has and why a fellow Navy Seal would tell a lie about an event that never happened. Clearly between this story and the previous week’s story about supposedly getting pulled over for tailgaiting in CA that was also a lie, someone is out to destroy my credibility. I find it very interesting that both these stories are being spread by Fox news and it’s affiliates. As a Navy veteran you realize you can’t believe every sea story you hear. Let me finish by stating both of the recent two national stories about me are completely untrue lies, neither event ever happened.

    At this point there is really no way to tell who is who and what is what. Ventura knows if he wants to stop bad rumors about him, he has to make Kyle look like a liar. It has both of its benefits. So i’ll call this a neutral subject and leave it alone….

      Well, the media didn’t do ANYTHING to corroborate or fact check this story. They simply took the liar’s word for it and ran with it…which is what they always do when they’re pushing an agenda…in this case…WAR WITH THE WORLD.

      So they let this douche slander a Jesse Ventura, andnow he and the media is going to be sued for it if they don’t issue retractions. This idiot admitted to assaulting an ex-Navy Seal and 60 year old man.

      At the worst, he’s a liar, government psy-ops and an agent provocatuer.

      Now get sued by Jesse Ventura. He isn’t gonna take this lying down. He sued Vince McMahon and won. Federal Court through out his suit against the TSA because they didn’t want a jury of his peers to rule in his favor against the Government and TSA.

      They refused him his day in court, but this isn’t going to go that way. This is a character assassination which just miraculously, conveniently happens to take place as SOON as Jesse is out of the country and out of cell phone range. Now he has a chance to respond, and it’s a total denial.

      Where are the other witnesses to this incident? At the Pentagon in some dark room scheming up their next lie?

      Glenn Beck describes himself as a “rodeo clown”.
      I have always wondered what he meant by that.

      After a few years of watching him and doing my OWN research, I NOW realize that he TRULY IS a rodeo clown.
      Here’s the analogy….. Our current situation is like a giant rodeo.

      The story would have been all over the news. thought it was BS from the start. Where are the witnesses? Jesse did his killing at arms length not hiding behind a wall. I don’t see him getting decked and walking away. He also is extremely proud of his service so him being so disrespectful to a bunch of his comrades is also doubtful.

      Jesse was NOT a SEAL. He was UDT which isnt even CLOSE to being a SEAL. Comparing UDT to a SEAL is like comparing a hiker to an Army Ranger. I don’t know if Kyle is a liar, but one thing I know to be true is that Ventura is a liar.

      @OZCHAMBERS Jesse was a UDT and not a Seal so Jesse is a liar? How about a UDT is the Underwater Demollitions Team and that eight years after Jesse left the navy…the Seals and the UDT merged..and so they all called themselves Seals.. play on words…I am quite sure that the two teams worked together on their projects..and just because they didn’t merge sooner would not have changed the involvement of working together and that the name of his company became the name of another..doesn’t make him a liar.

      @OZ UDT was the precursor to the SEALs we know today. Your analogy is flawed. Both Rangers and hikers exist today. UDT does not. They were redesignated SEALs. That would be like saying the Army Air Corps had nothing in common with the Air Force. Yes it does, it is where the Air Force came from. Keep to the facts my friend.

      I have to at least give Mike Opelka credit for posting the “other side” of the story. He doesn’t get much past that though.
      There are few celebrities more recognized than Jessie Ventura. If this “story” ACTUALLY happened, it would have been news THEN, not now.
      Jessie has spent 14 years serving his country as a UDT operative, a Governor, and a Mayor. BOTH his parents were WWII veterans.

      Regardless of what you think about how he questions his Government, who has been PROVEN to LIE on multiple occasions, he would NEVER, I mean EVER, stoop as low to denigrate another brother in arms like that.

      I‘m going to go with Kyle based on the exaggeration element in Ventura’s “Navy Seal” status statements in the past. It’s a credibility issue and Ventura has a track record. Track record or Kyle is that his accomplishments, rather than his words (which are cheap), have put him in the public eye.

      @Tim and Ashes: With all due respect to UDT, which was a fine outfit, they WERE NOT SEALs. When they “merged” the units, the transformation was minimal for SEALs. They added some additional underwater explosives training. However, the change for UDT was massive. They were not a unit that was expected to see combat, and rarely did. UDT saw far less combat action than even your standard Army grunt. A SEAL team is a combat elite unit that gets in the enemy’s face frequently. UDT was not. Not in any way, shape, or form. Jesse Ventura never took VC fire, never fired a shot at the enemy, and never killed a VC, but he has been more than happy to keep calling himself a SEAL knowing damn well that everyone will think he was a warpaint wearing, commie killing badazz in Vietnam who saw more action in a month than most vets saw in an entire tour. He was a diver who didnt even get a combat ribbon. He was probably at more bodily risk during his “wrasslin” career than he was in Vietnam. I’m sorry, but a former UDT diver can never call himself a SEAL. If he had been there during the merger, then it would be an entirely different story. He would’ve seen that action that he wants us to believe he experienced in Nam. Then again, he might’ve never made it home alive as a SEAL. Which is precisely why it is such an insult to those who died wearing the trident every time he says he was a SEAL when he should say “I was UDT”.

      I don‘t get what’s so special about this Kyle fella. If I was told that I could shoot anyone of fighting age, say 15 and up, in an entire town, I’m sure I could clip or wing at least 150, easy; especially if I got to use fortified and elevated perches. The mile long shot, now that is impressive; however the more impressive number would be how many mile plus shots had he missed…

      We need war heroes, we do. I’m just not sure this Kyle guy is the man who fits the bill. Maybe he does, I wasn’t there.

      I’m also in agreement with JETTROOPER…When Jesse comes out and says that he didn’t say that…then I believe him..Kyle is trying to promote his book and since the main stream public has been effectively brainwashed into war mode..this serves two purposes..to convince the public that Jessee is a dishonorable man and that his views should not matter to anyone..The connection..it is dishonorable to not want to be war mongers., therefore..Jessee is dishonorable..and Kyle the good shot..is honorable. Bumps up his war hero status.. I have a friend who is a retired General..He regrets the war..He said he nearly cries when he thinks of the young men he saw die.. Guys who returned home from the blood money war in Viet Nam are still messed up emotionally and mentally. 58,000 of our own lost their lives. All it did was to serve to make cetain people wealthy..nothing more. And if you think Ron Paul doesn’t know squat about foreign policy..you should watch this short video..It is a real eye opener.

Why would they run and blab about how one of their own ran his mouth??? thats not how they act… they take probelms deal with it and move on… they dont go running and talking about everything they see and do… watch the interview that started this… the guy didnt really wanna talk about it… THINK

      Here’s the deal. The owner of McP’s is a former SEAL himself and friend of JV. He says it didn’t happen, I believe HIM. Also, think of this. JV has been to McP’s several times AFTER the alleged incident. IF JV had said the things he is accused of saying. The Owner would NOT let JV step foot back in that place again. It’s a SEAL BAR owned by a former SEAL.. you disrespect, as this LIAR said JV did, the death and memory of a SEAL who gave his life protecting his friends, you’d be run out of town on a rail and told to NEVER return. Simple as that.

      Oh and for those who say UDT isn’t a SEAL? It’s like saying a reserve Marine, isn’t a Marine, they both go through the SAME training. When I was working on NAS Memphis, I had a Senior Chief who was a UDT SEAL. That’s how he was introduced to me and what he called himself. He was the one that qualified men to enter BUD/S training. circa 1979/1980

      The way in which the establishment media instantly seized upon the bogus story and gave Kyle all the air time he wanted to spread it illustrates how Ventura has made many enemies through his aggressive stance against the system, particularly in the form of his lawsuit against the TSA.

      “This is two times now within about a two week period where the mainstream media has ran with something that was completely untrue,” said Ventura, referring to a previous false claim about how he had been caught tailgating in California, when he hasn’t even visited California for six months.

      Ventura speculated that the smear campaign against him was launched because, “I am rattling my sword about the elections, maybe because I support Ron Paul…who they say he’s fringe because he stands for peace, maybe because I support peace and not war because in this country now that makes you a target for people that do support war.”

      Kyle claims that he met Ventura in a bar in Coronado in 2006 while Ventura was in town to speak to a new class of SEAL graduates at nearby Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. Also present were family members holding a wake for Michael Mansoor, one of the first SEALs killed in Iraq.
      This seems easy enough to prove one way or the other
      Just interveiw the Mansoor Family members that were present.
      Surely they would not lie over their dead sons grave. My Question is how to punish this guy if he is Lying ??????

      Exactly Tower. It is either true or false and if false, the SEAL likely should have to answer for it or if Jessie is lying, he should be held to task. Either way, while the story in and of itself is a relative no issue, the fact that someone can defame or destroy ones character publicly is becoming a serious problem in the U.S. One reason many legitimate candidates do not want to get involved in politics. As long as a particular view agrees with that opinion a person has, they are quick to hop on the band wagon and circle what could be a manufactured story to begin with. Whether Jessie is a legitimate person reporting legitimate items that are covered up by big business or whether he is a kook, everyone is entitled to their reputation staying in tact unless they destroy it themselves! It long ago became an environment that you cannot trust what is being reported 100%…on either side of political ideology.

      GoFigure, Our country is in turmoil as it has slid so far from our Constitution that we have become a country of progressive liars. When there is true individual liberty, there is great individual responsibility. The first amendment was not written to protect slander and defamation. There are legal actions that can be taken,ut Ventura is above doing that to a fellow Seal no matter how out of touch that Seal is. He said in an interview that he wanted to set the record straight as Kyle had admitted to a crime of assault and he did not want him to face a charge that is false. That makes Ventura a stand up guy in my eyes.

      @Was this story in Kyle’s book? Why was it brought up and why should it even matter? Jessee is a retired SEAL. We should all be proud of Seal Team Six.. that they took out Ben Laden the old lame “has been” and in “BLOWBACK” they lost their lives…I would bet that their parents..widows and children are very proud of daddy too..They probably visit his gravesite every Memorial Day..

      McP (a former SEAL and the owner of the bar) trained Jessie. He was there on the night in question. HE says it didn’t happen. If JV HAD said that, do you think McP would allow him to step foot in that place again? I think NOT! Jessie never went there alone either. He also has witnesses that he can bring to bare.

      As for me.. I trust the owner’s word.

    So this happened at a bar with Mostly SEALS in it right? I‘m pretty sure they’re good at keeping secrets. I‘m also pretty sure no one is Jesse’s party would want this getting out either. Don’t really think Jesse would go around telling anyone. If you look at the original story, Chris didn’t leak this to the media, someone else did, why would Chris lie about it once it came out? Jesse on the other hand? Really, Not enough spaces on here for the reasons he would lie. You got to ask yourself though, Who would you trust between the two. I think the answer if obvious. Jesse needs to stay in Mexico.

      My brother was in a bar in Rota, Spain, a favorite hang out of SEALs, when Jean Claude Van Dahm started mouthing off about how he could take any of them. The littlest guy on the team took him out in one punch, and believe me, the littlest guy on the team wasn’t my brother (he‘s 6’4″). I‘ve told that story lots and it’s never gone viral; Why would it? You’re hearing it from the sister of one guy on the team and have no way to verify any of it, not even that I have a brother at all. I’m sure all the guys there that night have told the story, but generally, they’re not into boasting. It’s just a funny story with the end point being that Hollywood-style fighting isn’t fighting, it’s dance. Seriously, who cares enough about it to write it up in a version worth passing around? And you KNOW Van Dahm isn’t going around telling people how he was taken out by a short American. He might not remember anyway.

      Real good at keeping secrets…like writing books about killing binladen, sniping 160 people, etc….They did a great job destroying that top secret stealth helicopter as well. I think I heard the story around 2001 or 2002. If the Belgian is dumb enough to take on the SEALs twice… Hmm… so what is that egg-shaped lump on his forehead about?

Remember how we are supposed to do our own homework? – Where is the verification, that Ventura was talking trash about a SEAL dying….getting punched? It never happened.       The Blaze reported both stories with evidence on both occasions. They posted a video of Chris Kyle telling his side and a screenshot of Ventura’s version on facebook. What’s not to believe about either report?

    Almost everyone mistrusts the media, but why do we hang on every word and story that is put out by Fox News and the others? We already know that EVERYONE in this world has an agenda.. Omissions are the biggest part of mainstream news. They rarely if ever give both sides to an issue, and the lack of historical timeline for current global events is part of the reason Americans(US citizens) are so ignorant about the World. Rupert Murdoch/George Soros/Michael Bloomberg makes the news decisions(what they choose to tell us about) in this country, not anchors. Anchors are bigger teleprompter whores than Obama. Right now, we get the news through the eyes of a few Euro-Jews. That’s why our news reports are always trying to divide people. These people think if we destroy each other, they’ll get the spoils. Let‘s prove em’ wrong.

    Ventura is a big public figure, and this bar could not have been empty. This story would have been in the news long before now were it true. And, sadly, this lie means I will not be buying this SEAL’s book, no matter how interesting it might be (or how true the rest of his book is).

      @Bread: I don’t assert the media is honest. I assert that they will do whatever they can to ridicule Republicans – especially Dr. Paul. Ventura is a Republican that supports Paul. Any humiliation of such a figure would be a great story to most media types. Their reporting of it as fact without getting collaborative sources from people that had to have been there, according to the SEAL’s story, is proof of that.

      Plus, the internet would have reported on it – somewhere. Somebody would have mentioned it on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or their blog. We would not have waited six years for this story to become known.

      Personally I dont believe the baby seals story one bit. I think his book and his accomplishments were written by the same person that wrote ”dreams of my father” by obama. As a vet, I question the legitimacy of Kyles claims. Black/sy ops every bit of it. If I had that many kills I would not be able to function in society because I would be wacked out with images that would never go away. Way too many ghosts. Speaking from experience. He’s too calm for that all to have happened.
