NBC Omits ‘Under God’ From Pledge During U.S. Open Introduction — TWICE

If you were watching the U.S. Open this afternoon (like I was) you may have noticed something odd during NBC’s epic video introduction: while featuring a group of kids saying the Pledge of Allegiance, the network decided to cut out the words “under God” not once, but twice.
Here’s the very raw video. See if you can catch it:
It seems NBC has taken a cue from our president and his regular omission of “creator” from the Declaration of Independence.
The most ironic part is that the intro was talking about the “virtues” passed down from generation to generation. Apparently the one about honesty and truth — telling things like they are and not omitting whatever you don’t like — is getting skipped.

At 4:36 p.m. ET, NBC issued the following on-air pseudo-apology (rush transcript):
We began our coverage of this final round about three hours ago, and when we did it was our intent to begin the coverage of this U.S. Open championship with a feature that captured the patriotism of our national championship being held in our nation’s capital for the third time. Regrettably, a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance that was in that feature was edited out. It was not done to upset anyone and we would like to apologize to those of you who were offended by it.

I have used the only power I have, which is MONEY, to boycott people and shows before and I have NO PROBLEM with showing my absolute distaste, disagreement and any other term you want to inject here, by not watching their programming. I will also email NBC and let them know they have now been crossed off my list. There are plenty of other channels to watch. I have boycotted Johnny Depp, Susan Sarandon and a few others due to their disparaging remarks about the US. I will NOT allow ANYTHING with them in it to be watched, bought or brought in my home. My husband the children were not happy at first because of the movies Pirates of the Caribbean but now understand and have passed the word to their friends. So I now know that boycotting does work and the more the merrier. I can and will do my part and I hope and pray that MILLIONS of other God loving Americans will do the same and send an UNMISTAKABLE message to ANY TV station that we will not put up with that! “Every knee will bow and every tongue confess”

Spirit of God resides in individuals of a nation, rather than the nation itself other than Israel’s convenant land. How sad that so many in US are choosing human saviours….big government, social justice, mother earth, etc to replace God. Seems to be working out so well for them too…..not!

Another is to begin a boycott of sponsors that support these shows but thats taks alot more work then just not subsribing or watching. I used to like watching those shows but then I noticed a trend of the shows having episodes involving Iraq War vets. In each of the episodes, the vets were portrayed as criminals. I then read some comments made by the series creator. He was apparently opposed to the Iraq War and I guess thought he could best show his opposition by defaming vets. What a hero.

I’m not sure if this was deliberate or not, but in the all-American way, NBC makes decisions based on what they believe is best for their bottom line. This is America, this is capitalism. If you want a theocracy, move to Iran.
The Tea Party position is that anything that is good for big business is good for America. You don’t make exceptions for the Christian idea that this country should support “the poorest among us” as Christ spoke. But you’re worried about the absence of the word “God” in the pledge? Prepare your explantion to St. Paul.
