On this morning’s “Today” show, NBC did a segment on the Navy SEALS, the special forces unit being praised for killing Osama bin Laden. We featured the reported kill unit, SEAL Team 6, yesterday. But the NBC piece takes a broader look at the SEALS, their training, and their lives of secrets:

Posted on May 3, 2011 at 11:21amPlease note that almost ALL of the SEALS shown (and it is the same for all of our elite units – Rangers, etc) were white. It is little known and not publicized but minorities just by and large can not hack the entrance requirements/tests. It has nothing to do with bravery but more with endurance and intellectual preparedness. Would be interesting to see the real stats.

Posted on May 3, 2011 at 11:18amDrat- forgot to mention other nephew Captain in Army rangers! He grew up saying he would go to West Point and he did! Only thing we haven’t had is air force. Two other grandsons are headed for Navy and Marine Corps-if they have all been willing to serve I have got to help where I can, and I wll, don”t know how yet, but I’m working on it. All these good people need our support.

Posted on May 3, 2011 at 10:53amThe Tier One professionals in units like DEVGRP(Seal Team Six)and 1st SFOD-Delta(or Combat Applications Group)are a national assest not unlike our aircraft carriers and large transport aircraft(C-5′s etc). I just hope that, in a way, they’re allowed to “take a bow” and quietly retreat to the shadows for the next time the nation calls. THANKS GUYS !!!

I don’t think that Osama is alive, But the destruction of the body puts a shadow of doubt on the time of death of Bin Laden. It seems that we are being fed bull for the purpose of propaganda and to clear the government or some “other” institution of covering up his death years ago.
remember, just because they show a photo doesnt mean the photo is recent. And DNA does not have to be recent either.

And anyone who knows anything about SEAL TEAM 6, knows that their record would not hurt from some review. Independent 3rd party review.

But you just have to love all the men and women serving in the Military. The MARINES are nothing to sneeze at either, and they all deserve recognition for the jobs they do.

As things stand today they all fall under JSOC, Joint Special Operations Command and SEAL Team 6 was disbanded in 1987, The 6 platoons that were Team 6 is now known as United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group, also known as DEVGRU and part of JSOC. .

Posted on May 3, 2011 at 10:10amWe have been a bit of a military family, my late husband was retired MasterChief, our son is now retired from the Marine corps, our nephew is a retired Seal and now our grandson is a Marine(recon) I have watched graduations and retirements, and every time I feel so much pride in these good men who love their country “ more than self” and serve our country willingly, even when those who are elected do not understand or appreciate their sacrifices. Every one who serves, men and women,deserve the highest praise and thanks for all they do every single day-even the routine watchfull vigilance as they keep us safe. Well done! God bless you all and your families who wait and pray-our prayers are added to yous.

JSOC are tier 1 operators made up of Delta Force, Seals, Special Forces, Air Force Special Ops, and the CIA.. Normal Navy Seals are tier 2. Only the uninformed public believes anything NBC puts out as news.

Protested against military strength during Reagan’s two terms and sought to weaken us
Tried to defund the military during Clinton’s reign
Protested the first gulf war
Protested the 2nd gulf war complete with Code Pink giving aid to insurgents in Iraq
These people hate the military. They associate the military with fly over country. They had the nerve to spit on troops returning from viet nam and many of the left wing radicals are now in this administration or work for one of many think tanks. Code pink gave aid & comfort to insurgents in Iraq during GW2. Code pink raised money for supplies and met with the insurgents in person. Code pink = Obama’s friends.
The media after seeing the Nov 2010 elections are trying to play the whole patriotic card after their secular leftist ram down from Nov 2008 to Jan 2011. This is nothing more than an attempt to regain the trust of Americans so they can start pushing their leftist narrative again. Unfortunately when gas prices are rising, they do not want to hear about the mystical unicorn of alternative energy. When unemployment is high and the economy is sluggish people do not want to be told to go $35,000 in debt to buy a Chevy Volt. They do not want to hear about redistributionist policies, higher taxes or growth in government and it’s fiscal burden. For this reason once the media returns to suggesting leftist policies or ignoring the gas prices, economy, fudges unemployment numbers and their other funny business, people will tune them out again. The media lost their audiences within a year of Obama being elected, the 2012 elections are quite some time away so they will lose the majority of Americans again.

Posted on May 3, 2011 at 2:49pmExactly, like when they called brave soldiers like my father “Baby killer” when he got back from three tours in Vietnam… He wasn’t the cowardly politicians playing with peoples lives like little toys… he put his life on the line every day for years and his job was a HIGH fatality job… Thank God he came home at all! But only to be met with spit in the face and horrific name calling… Can you imagine what the guy who shot Bin Ladin would feel like if all the press was calling him a murderer or criminal?
While we take time to celebrate the heros, we need to go back and once again apologize for the horrible treatment the Vietnam veterans got… I know my dad is scarred emotionally for life. If only he was welcomed home as a hero…how would things have been different.

No one has been able to explain why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20+ years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay. While politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
This will take less than thirty seconds to read.
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform…. in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
