‘NDHDIUBGUGTRUCG…!‘ Did Televangelist Juanita Bynum ’Type in Tongues’ on Facebook?

Is Juanita Bynum the First Person to Type in Tongues?

Perhaps you’re familiar with the religious practice of speaking in tongues — the Biblical gift that enables individuals to speak and interpret a language that is believed to come directly from God.

Of course, the theological construct comes alongside a great deal of debate. While some individuals embrace this notion as a realistic element of the Christian faith, others dismiss it as a mythical practice. But the debate is more complex than that, with theologians expressing a variety of views on the religious practice also referred to as “glossolalia.”

Either way, the significance of the practice of tongues has been observed for centuries. Interestingly, recent — and curious — events by a Christian preacher have caused some in the faith and media communities to wonder if a new phenomenon — “typing in tongues” — is entering the scene.

Juanita Bynum, a Pentecostal televangelist, raised eyebrows among some bloggers, journalists and Christians, alike, when some of her Facebook posts looked as though they contained text typed “in tongues.” The Christian Post has more:

In the first message time stamped 3:57 p.m., it appeared that Juanita Bynum II, the account holder for the Facebook page, started praying for Zachery Tims, the Florida megachurch minister who was found dead in a New York City hotel room on Aug. 12:

GOD WE PRAY FOR THE DESTINY CHURCH FAMILY….WE PRAY FOR THE STRENGTH OF PASTOR RIVA TIMS….MIGHTY GOD…GIVE US STRENGTH…..WE ARE THE BODY THAT FEELS THIS PAIN…..WE ALL FEEL IT…..COVER THE MINDS OF HIS CHILDREN…GRAB THEM UP IN YOUR ARMS LORD JESUS……BE A COMFORT TO THEM…..YOU ARE THE MANY BREASTED ONE….

Then, a second post with the same timestamp appeared (nothing was out of the ordinary with this one). A third post, published a minute later, begins to show the odd text that some see as evidence of digital tongues. Here’s the first message that includes this curious text:

Is Juanita Bynum the First Person to Type in Tongues?

While some would likely dismiss these letters as an error, Bynum continued to post other messages with the same jumbled text. Here are more examples:

Is Juanita Bynum the First Person to Type in Tongues?

Reaction to these messages has been intriguing. The Post highlights a few of the comments that were posted on Facebook:

“God did not tell her to type in tongues…I think every sane/spiritual person knows this to be true… an explanation/interpretation should really be made in order for the confusion and ruckus to cease,” wrote Kischa Loree Pena .

Pena continued, “Dr. Bynum…I think you should defend yourself. If the spirit fell so hard that you lost control of your typing, just say so. Too many people are being led astray and fed false teaching/doctrine in a time when a pure and sincere relationship with our heavenly Father is necessary…and I am saddened by these posts.”

So far, Bynum has been silent about the intriguing Facebook messages. Interestingly, she hasn’t posted any “tongue” text since these notes were uncovered.

Ok, here is the “RED FLAG”, to this Juanita Bynum, and that is her claim to be a “Prophetess” ?
There are no more prophets, the time of Prophesy has long been over and finished / completed, the last being the Apostle John, who from the Isle of Patmos penned the book of Revelation, being lead by the Holy Spirit to write. Revelation 1:3-9 ! Also know this,, ALL, that’s ALL, of God’s prophets have been Hebrew men all throughout the Scripture, Revelation being the last prophesy given, which completes God’s Word !
Don’t take my word for it, do your homework, research the Scriptures, study, and see what God says about who is His prophets. Deuteronomy 18: 18-22; 18 ” I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him”.19 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him”. 20 “But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die”. 21 “And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken”? 22 “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid (

thank you. it’s amazing how people long to believe “tongues” is some kind of personal God language. the problem is that christianity (mainly rome/catholicism) did away with the old testament as some sort of old covenant or history lesson, you need to understand the old testament before you can even BEGIN to understand the new.

21Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

There is nothing in the Bible that supports lack of self-control. In Galatians chapter 5 it details the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. One Spiritual Fruit is called “self-control.” Scripture tells us that when we allow the power of the Holy Spirit to have full sway that it can invoke a feeling of fainting but not one of the disciples who were filled with the Holy Spirit were out of control. I would love to see the rest of the Spiritual Fruit of the Holy Spirit like WISDOM, TEACHING, Love of God rather than Hate and the rest of the fruit of the Holy Spirit instead. Why is it always tongues? Tongues are not even on the list of Spiritual Fruit? This is why we AVOID church like the plague these days…too much knee-jerk emotional reactions instead of all the Spiritual Fruit working together bring about healing of the people and wholeness. If it’s just tongues, what GOOD has come out of it? Who was healed? Who was restored? Who was helped?

I’m a strong believer in speaking in tongues but the large majority of “speaking in tongues (or even typing in tongues) is abused and faked as the way that it is done is not supported in the Bible. Anyone that claims to speak in tongues in a manner not given in the Bible (since it is pretty specific in what way tongues are “spoken”) gives question, serious and valid doubts about the sincerity and authenticity of someone‘s salvation since deliberately doing things the way God tells us NOT to do something isn’t a sign of actual salvation. Of course, that is between God and her (or anyone else that does it) but it still does raise up serious doubts. I’ve seen things like deliberately speaking in manner simulating tongues and such is pretty predominate in voodoo and things like that. Also satan loves to have people simulate tongues to try and bring ridicule and derision to actual followers of God. Whatever the case, according to the Bible, whatever she did is clearly NOT of the Bible or God (according to God’s Word) and unless it was some kind of health issue that caused her to do it inadvertantly then I pray that she will seek repentence if she is so minded and truly trying to follow God. There are so many people that claim to follow God because for some it is a very lucrative business they are making money at or because they think that it is “cool” to say “see, see, I’m a Christian”, see my cross that I’m wearing, when in reality it means nothing to them.

May I recommend attending a church of Christ in your area? No hooplah but the word of God being taught as it should be. No doctrines of men or creeds or fancy shows but a focus on worshiping God and preaching the Word to call sinners to repent. I hope you’ll think about it. Heb. 10:25

I thought Acts was pretty clear of the fact that when the disciples were speaking “in tongues” they were speaking and everyone in the crowd was hearing it in their own native language (tongue), not gibberish… I mean even the guys listening started asking how the Galileans could speak in a way that each of them could understand simultaneously.

I guess it’s only unclear to those who want to make it unclear.

Actually it is not at all clear that the phenomenon of Pentecost is the same as the gift of tongues. Paul makes clear in his discussion about it that tongues NEEDS an interpreter. People do not “automatically” understand it. So tongues without interpretation would be gibberish. No one is edified by simply seeing someone speak in tongues. That kind of religion is pure bunk at best, demonic deception at worst.

But I sincerely doubt that this woman was using a spiritual gift.Tongues is the easiest gift to fake without even knowing it. I stopped trying to speak in tongues when I realized I was controlling it. Some people never question their own spiritual discernment and assume whatever comes out of their mouths must be divine. Satan loves religious leaders like that.

Absolutely true. Problem is, very few have read the Bible from beginning to end. This is why you know and I know but those who have not read it fully and through the Power of the Holy Spirit are guessing as they go along. They are the type that take Scripture out of context to suit their present need, desires or plans. Best to really KNOW what GOD and JESUS had to say (NOT MAN) and WHY.

Speaking in tongues is not a ” Practice .” Research Truth. Not hearsay. You may if you like locate a book called, ” The Winds of God,” by Ethel E. Goss. And, if one cares to read the Bible, The New Testament – King James. The event testified by the Prophet Joel and confirmed by the Apostles is also validated by the secular world, if one cares to research old newspapers recorded in the book, ” The Winds of God.“ ” Buy The Truth And Sell It Not.”

Also, are you aware that the so called “Apochrypha” was in the ORIGINAL 1611 King James version of the Bible? So many people spout “King James” only and no nothing about the history of that so called “Bible” Why do you have the name of a man, a sinner on your Bible? I HIGHLY recommend reading 1 Cor 14.

1 Cor 14:27, explicitly teaches that one should remain quiet and not speak in tongues if there is no interpreter.

1 Cor 14:32 teaches that the spirits of prophets are under the control of the prophets. Anyone who says that they can’t control themselves when they are “filled with the Holy Spirit” is teaching a false teaching and passing on a tradition of men.

1 Cor 14:34 also teaches that “women should remain silent in the churches” But most Evangelicals completely ignore these verses and other verses (like James 2:24, John 6:56) that contradict their traditions. They go by the “Bible Alone” until the Bible contradicts what they have been taught by men

      KJV
      1 Cor 14:27-34
27If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God. 29Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, 34women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submis
