Netanyahu Blames Iran for Car Bombing in India

JERUSALEM (The Blaze/AP) — Israel’s prime minister has accused Iran of being behind a pair of car bombings against Israeli diplomatic targets in India and Georgia.

Benjamin Netanyahu told a meeting of lawmakers from his Likud Party on Monday that he believed the Iranians were responsible for the attacks in New Delhi and Tbilisi. Two people were wounded in India and the bomb in Georgia was discovered before it went off.

Netanyahu said Israel has thwarted other attacks in recent months in Azerbaijan, Thailand and elsewhere.

“In all those cases, the elements behind these attacks were Iran and its protege Hezbollah,” he said.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu placed blame for the dual attacks against Israel’s diplomatic missions in New Delhi and Tbilisi Monday squarely on Tehran, saying that Israel will continue to “systematically and with patience, use a strong arm” against international terrorism emanating from Iran.

Netanyahu said that Iran, and its proxy Hezbollah, is responsible for a string of attempted attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets abroad in recent months, including in Thailand and Azerbaijan. In each of the previous cases, he said, the attacks were thwarted with the help of the local authorities.

“Iran, which is behind these attacks, is the biggest exporter of terrorism in the world,” Netanyahu said. “The Israeli government and its security forces will continue to work together with local security services against these terrorist actions.”

The New Delhi attack took place just a few hundred meters from the prime minister‘s residence as the diplomat’s wife was heading to the American Embassy School to pick up her children, said Delhi Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta.

When the car approached a crossing, she noticed a motorcyclist ride up and stick something on it that appeared to be a magnetic device, he said.

The car drove a short distance, there was a loud sound and then an explosion and the car caught fire, he said.

“It was a loud explosion. We realized it’s not a firecracker, but an explosion, and rushed toward the car,” said Ravi Singh, 50, owner of a gas station near the blast site.

The blast left a charred minivan with blue diplomatic plates, its rear door apparently blown out.

Iran has accused Israel of involvement in a series of killings of officials and scientists involved in its controversial nuclear program.

I hope this is Iran………considering the ‘groups’ including Americans…that have been dispersed around the world to create Revolution…I can only pray that this is not the same group creating a War between Iran and Israel which would evolve into a World War. Israel and Iran are already at war, it’s just not official yet. Anyone with sense can see WW3 brewing over there, it is destiny, and their is nothing we can to stop it. We must prepare ourselves for all the repercussions of the coming chaos.

  Of course their already at war. Iran has been sponsoring attacks against Israel for years. The only country that currently has a standing peace treaty with Israel is Jordan and that will only hold if the unrest that is spreading through the region continues to spare Jordan.

Obama is not going to do anything. Do not worry about war in the M.E. yet because obama does not have the nerve for it and he is just muslim enough to not want to do anything. Eventually this area will blow up but not in the near future. Obama may send our whole Navy into the area but if you don’t use it then the whole action is mute. Obama is a long range assasin. If he can get his way with a drone, then he will. He is not going to fight face to face.

  Where did it say they were offended? I didn’t see it. All they said is that Iran was behind the attacks. Besides, I think a scientist building nukes for an enemy of Israel is more of a threat than diplomats sent to countries that aren‘t Muslim and don’t border Iran.

Let me see… The head of Iran says he will use his Nuclear option to wipe Israel off the map. Someone…someone (no one is taking credit here) has targeted Iran’s nuclear scientists and facilities. The details of the last scientist show that only he was killed. The driver uninjured and the car did not burn. In India, it appears that the wife of a diplomat and her Indian driver were injured and the vehicle burned.
There is a huge difference between targeting an active participant and targeting the easiest target. War is politics by other means; war is killing people and breaking things. Iran should enter the 21st century or reap the whirlwind.

India has been suffering under Islamic Jihad for centuries. Unlike America, they have cleaved off huge swaths of land and handed them over to the Islamic Empire. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kashmir, all ceded to the muslims and it is not enough. They want the whole of India to submit to Allah.

In the Mumbai Jihad attack a few years ago there was mutilation of the dead.

  Let’s see what kind of comment you post when Iran has blown Israel of the map because they put their head in the sand. Then again you would probably say nothing since your post shows you are not with Israel. I support Israel and even I am not above criticizing it. Their government model, for instance, practically sanctions corruption and backroom deals. They have no constitution. So nobody bats an eye when Israel assassinates Iranian scientists, but all of sudden they are victims when they get a taste of their own medicine? At the end of the day those scientists that Israel killed are CIVILIANS, not terrorist and not soldiers. We applaud the Israelis when they kill civilians and Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich even want in on the action, but we wag our fingers at the Iranians when they do the same thing. Nobody has a right to assassinate anyone. If it is wrong for Iran to do this, then it should be wrong for Israel to do it as well.

  Rule number one: context matters. Israel sees a country trying to build nukes that has repeatedly sponsored terrorist attacks and called for Israel’s destruction. They see three options: 1. Do nothing and be nuked 2. Launch an attack to neutralize the threat and, if necessary, go to war OR 3. Use targeted strikes and sabotage to delay or derail their efforts. Of those three options number 3 leads to the fewest casualties.
  Iran meanwhile sees a country that is technologically superior despite its size but which never attacks unless it feels threatened. Iran hates this country for some reason and wishes to see it destroyed. Since they can’t beat it head on they sponsor underground terrorist attacks designed to intimidate and begin development of powerful weapons that could overpower their enemy. Then they act threatened when this country tries to impede their efforts.

  Iran has a terrorist network throughout the entire Middle East. Iraq is out of the picture, Egypt is in a political transition and Syria is suppressing uprisings (and are a proxy of Iran anyway). Who else is there? Jordan is at peace with Israel, Lebanon is controlled by Hezbollah and Saudi Arabia is too worried about its own wealth to do anything more than handle the money. Everyone else is too insignificant to mention. It’s not hard to figure out who the culprit is, especially when your intelligence is good enough to prevent these types of attacks. If Israel is able to stop attacks like these there’s a good chance they know who the culprit is.
