Netanyahu Calls for ‘Clear Red Line’ on Iran

Israel Netanyahu red line on Iran

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, center, attends the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Sunday, Sept 2, 2012. Netanyahu is urging the international community to get tougher against Iran, saying that without a "clear red line" Tehran will not halt its nuclear program. (AP)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Sunday for the international community to set a “clear red line” for Iran, saying Tehran will not halt its nuclear program without one.

“I believe the truth must be stated: The international community is not placing a clear red line for Iran and Iran does not see international resolve to stop its nuclear program,” Netanyahu told his cabinet in broadcast remarks, according to Reuters.

“Unless Iran sees this clear red line and this clear resolve it will not stop moving forward with its nuclear program, and Iran must not have nuclear weapons,” he continued.

Pointing to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s report last week that Iran has expanded its nuclear activity in a heavily fortified underground bunker, Netanyahu said time is running out to stop the country.

“The report confirms what I have been saying for a long time – the international sanctions are burdening Iran’s economy, but they are not delaying the development of the Iranian nuclear program,” Netanyahu said.

The U.S. has said it will not permit Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, but Israel has been hinting at striking Iran sooner rather than later, causing a reported strain between the two allies: Last week, U.S. military chief Gen. Martin Dempsey said he would “not want to be complicit” in such a strike.

Alina, a childish response that is not too uncommon for teenagers. Given that, let’s use your words from an earlier post, ” Anyhow, Israel has God as its protector… .”

If this is true, and if your faith tells you that this is true, then why drag another nation into the fray? No one else is needed, if indeed, God is Israel’s protector. So, you must be a callous warmonger using religion as a vehicle to pain and suffering, no different than the 9/11 hijackers.

Christ lived in a time far worse for the Jews of Judea and the other people of Levant. Their land was actually occupied by a foreign power, Rome. Did He, like you are now doing, call for war? No He did not, even when asked. You are lost.

Racism, antisemitism, homophobia, are all labels used by those who have no substance to their arguments, they’ve failed. I’ve given substance when making my points, unless it was an in-kind response. Sadly, you can not, which is why you’ve written this statement, which proves your intellectual deceit. You people are calling for violence. I am not. I’ll let others be the judge of the morality.

Secondly, I write almost exclusively about the Zionist state because of the lack of objectivity given to this subject. Rarely, in America, is the other side presented. Rarely, in America, are the pro-Israel sentiments outside of the confines of religion. This is what zealots do.

Us smart people just simply believe that Israel has the right to defend itself from these ruthless, hateful people.
And, why should I not mention God in all of this? He is the Father and protector of Israel after all.. That makes Him the most important character in all this is going on. Accept it or not.. the truth is the truth. Smile a little Jerk, and relax.. Everything is already planned out and written about in the Bible, so no one and nothing can change anything. :) Israel will be Victorious.

Alina.D, it’s difficult to talk to you self-described smart people. So, let’s try again.

If God is the protector of Israel, as you have said, then what more does Israel need? If God is the protector, and God is all powerful, why does Israel need American lives and wealth? This is the best argument one could make to keep America out of Israel’s business; stop sending weapons systems and weapons to Israel. Stop sending our tax dollars to Israel. Let God do His protecting.

Second, Rome physically occupied Judea during Christ’s lifetime here on Earth. He said nothing about Rome, other than give to Caesar that which is Caesars. When asked if He would be the messiah to throw off the shackles of Rome, He pooh-poohed the idea… just the opposite of what you are now doing. He preached love. You preach hate. I see hypocrisy and religious zealotry.

Jews helped put Obama in office. This time around it is clear Obama could care less about what happens to Israel. So lets just wait and see how the Jews feel about Obama this time. Christians care more about Israel than Jews. Christ was a Jew. Christianity and God’s chosen people should be preserved. You can’t abandon that without serious repercussions.

Your point about there being more Christian Zionists than Jewish is irrelevant. Since there are more Christians than Jews it’s quite easy for that to be true. I could argue voting Democrat isn‘t a trend among Jews because there are more Christians that vote Democrat than Jews but that still wouldn’t make it a valid argument.

You claim to bring balance to an issue yet you always slant the facts, omit crucial facts, or, when said facts are brought up, you either dispute their importance or divert away from them. You once claimed the Zionist flag was one of the only ones that could be flown in the Third Reich when a simple search revealed that the actual text of the Nuremberg Laws forbade Jews from flying the German or Nazi flags but permitted them to fly “Jewish” flags. You made it sound like an endorsement or alliance when it was actually an step towards disenfranchisement.

      What The Blaze deleted:

“My son is American Israeli and served in Iraq with a purple heart and he’s Jewish,” you said.
      1. You didn’t answer my question (see the question above once more).
      2. Isolated cases, as that with your son, don’t count.
I can remind you of Jews serving Nazis, both as spies and Military. There is not enough place here to enumerate all of them. And yet, the are still “isolated cases” that don‘t count because they don’t change the overall picture.
And the overall picture, as I pointed out in my question, is that the overwhelming majority of Jews gravitate to Socialism. This is an irrefutable fact.
The fact is that the leaders of Bolshevism were MOSTLY Jews (not to mention partially Jew Lenin): Zinoviev, Kamenev, Trotsky, Sverdlov, Unschlikht, Uritsky, Babitsky, Yagoda, Martov, Kaganovich, and hundreds alike.
(A Jewish snitch by the name of “Gersch Yevreyson” (Son of a Jew) had ratted on my uncle, a Russian Orthodox priest, that “he conducts worship meetings”, and another one Jew, the Chief of the GPU (a Soviet SS) Genrikh Yagoda signed an arrest warrant and sent my uncle to GULag where he was then murdered.)
The fact is that the overwhelming majority of American Jews gravitate to Sozis and Liberasts of any kind.
The fact is that Israel was established by Socialist Zionists (Gurion, Meir + rabbis) with Stalin’s support as the Communist outpost in the Middle East.

…or a clear red line with any of the typical UN Israel haters.

As long as things stay muddled most of Europe, and the Obama administration can issue meaningless proclamations, threats, and warnings. They won’t be held accountable, and when things don’t work they can blame the regime in Iran, or blame it on Israel provacation.

The moment the UN or NATO issues a clear boundary. “Do this that or the other by this date or face consequences”, it creates an accountable “Put up or Shut up moment.”
If Iran doesn’t do whathever it is demanded then the UN or NATO must respond or look foolish and weak.
This is why no such line will ever be given at least with the current “leadership.”

Romney visited his friend, Netanyahu while in Israel,
their families dined together & smiled for photos.

    If you think,
that didn‘t put another bee in Oblameo’s bonnet,
you are as gullible, as the dopes who voted for him.

Nobody upstages Oblameo, especially in an election year,
especially, NOT Netanyahu, posing with the opposition.

    It’s all political pollution,
    what the hell-
let Netanyahu & Israel be driven into the sea,
as long as Oblameo doesn’t get wet,
    nothing else matters.

He has no civil connection with Netanyahu,
remember his conversation, caught off mic with the testy Sarkozy,
    b!tching about Bebe ?

    Can you imagine,
what else the dope says behind our trusted ally’s back ?
When Netanyahu didn‘t cave to Oblameo’s agenda,
he left Bebe sitting in a White House corner
& he trotted off, in a huff, to have dinner with his family ?

Not only, is he not leadership material,
he has no diplomatic skills, manners or business savvy.
He is an extremely repulsive individual,
    he sets the benchmark-
nobody’s allowed to rise above it, question or reset it.

It’s always an issue of how high-
how HIGH will one jump for Oblameo ?

Israel bows to no one & will jump for no one,
they, more than anyone understand the repercussion.

Netanyahu KNOWS he has one thing, Oblameo does NOT have-
the love & support of the American people.
We recognize a REAL leader when we see one-

Yeah and with the leadership they have now WW III is not far off when they get a “Nuke” of any sort even “Theatre” based “Nukes” can do a lot of damage to the regions peace and when troops are sent into an irradiated area they will not be as affective since the protection they have to wear is bulky and would be extremely hot in the summer if they should start this war in that regions hot weather.

Yes they have the right to “run their country” in their way, but when it affects the rest of the world and the lives of billions of the earths citizenry you have to draw a line in the sand to say no further. When you do that you have more authority to take actions and since President Obama is lover of all things Palestinian he will refuse to protect Israel with the “Full Might and Force” of the United States Military.

New Orleans was all over the news after Katrina and that‘s just a city that’s smaller than any state. Those shootings in CO made front news nationwide even though it was only a small town. News has nothing to do with size of an area or population. By that reasoning, why should we care about politics at all when 99% of the world‘s population isn’t directly involved in politics unless an an election is in progress. Your arguments are mind-numbingly stupid. That’s almost as bad as your insinuation that the widespread hatred of Jews is proof that such hatred is justified.

“NETANYAHU CALLS FOR ‘CLEAR RED LINE’ ON IRAN”–no uranium enriched to more than 20% U-235; that should be the red line. To my knowledge, there is only one purpose for uranium enriched to that degree (energy production uses enrichment at around 10% U-235 roughly, and I believe the same is true of reactors for generating medical isotopes, if anything probably lower since energy generation efficiency is not a concern in that instance) is weaponry.

If the Iranians enrich uranium to ~20% U-235, and there are probably ways for other governments to find out if they do, their leadership needs to be removed from office, violently if need be. Humanity cannot, and should not, accept a potential threat to its existence from the prospect of nuclear war, particularly coming from a regime with no legitimacy. If the actions a person, or group of people, threaten the welfare of humanity writ large, there can be no remedy save the injunction of those actions, and if such injunction necessitates their deaths, then die they must.

Basically it said,”What you do to Israel and the Jews God will do to you.

Although this is a very stressful time in the World.. as a Christian it is also a very Exciting time as we know the clock is rapidly advancing toward the return of Jesus Christ.

To those who do NOT know Jesus.. it is not enough to be a good person. You MUST have a personal relationship with Jesus to enter into Heaven. Once you accept Christ, the Holy Spirit resides within you. That MUST happen before you can have any comprehensive understanding of God’s Word. I Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth NOT the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

This is an interesting dynamic for Israel. Consider the options.

Strike now and suffer some condemnation by the international community, but in the US there will be a muddled and confused response. Obama not wanting to cause a ruckus amidst his reelection designs will be careful to not directly condemn Israel. But if he’s reelected he will come down on Israel hard. The gloves will come off, and Obama will directly and completely support the Palestinians.

If Israel doesn’t strike and Obama is reelected, much the same will occur but it won’t be as forceful.

If Romney is elected Israel will have 100% US support.

what do you mean by “100% support”. Is that moral encouragement – or do you mean that we will provide the ground troops?

I was unaware the Romney (or any President, would-be or actual) spoke for every American’s views on the subject.

Since Obama has allowed/encouraged “Arab Spring” Israel is now surrounded by countries ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood. A strike on Iran for their nuclear program would not only start a war there… but every single country surrounding them would jump in.

Not that Israel can’t handle that – provided they have US support. (and… I wouldn’t doubt that they could handle that on their own… but for a limited time.)

Ranger, I like your views on them striking before the election to force Obama to show his hand… but that’s still a big gamble for them – if Obama did, by some miracle (or nefarious activity), pull off the election, they’d be in a world of hurt. But with Iran and now clerics in Egypt spouting off that Israel won’t exist in a year… what have they got to lose?

It’s not only Obama, Every administration for the past 60 years has been meddling with muslim affairs. Our foreign policy pretty much encouraged the Arab Springs.

      @Soybomb

Sorry, poor choice of words. Let me rephrase. If Romney wins reelection Israel will be able to attack Iran with impunity and will enjoy 100% support by the Romney administration to include: AWAC’s on station, satellites, intelligence sharing, and likely some CIA/Spec Ops nastiness that no one (rightly so) will ever hear about.
These decisions will of course not be shared by 100% of Americans, but it is my fond hope that Romney’s response to the agressive questioning by the progressive media is “sorry, that’s Classified.”

…And if it does come to pass that classified information regarding active military operations is shared by some daring liberal patriot to the New York Times. I hope the Romney administration prosecutes the little media darling for treason and he/she ends up serving serious hard time.

Once word got around, you would be amazed at how leak proof our ship of state can be.

You have an issue with the leadership of a countries actions and your answer is to nuke them?

As for the stone age savages comment, I’ve worked as a technical advisor on three movies in Iran in the last ten years and your description of them is as wide of the mark as is possible.

We had to put up with government officials and detectives following us from location to location and they nearly removed me from the country on one occasion, as they didn‘t believe I wasn’t being paid, but I would hardly blame the people of Iran for these indiscretions. Aside of these issues I found Iran to be one of the most hospitable places I have travelled to or worked in.

It’s a sad state of affairs when there are people like yourself, who feel genocide is an appropriate reaction to the situation at hand.
