Netanyahu Calls for Early Elections in September

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called for parliamentary elections to be held in September, one year ahead of schedule.

Netanyahu stopped short of declaring a specific date — he had been expected to set the vote for Sept. 4 — but said a shorter election schedule was necessary for Israel’s political stability, the Associated Press reported.

“I won’t lend my hand to an election campaign that will last a year and a half and damage the state,” he said. “A short campaign of four months is better that can return stability to the political system quickly.”

The move had been widely expected, with some commentators speculating Netanyahu was looking to shore up a decisive governing majority to put him in a stronger defensive position against Iran, particularly if President Barack Obama is re-elected in the U.S. in November.

Is this the hand of God moving in our world? I’m always unsure. God is not the only spiritual force in the world, and prideful Jewish leaders have some history, (like most of the old testament). Perhaps it‘s just the master’s plan unfolding. Pray. Pray with as many bothers and sisters as you can. Could be soon, could be generations from now, but always ask to have our actions match his will. Amen.

Love Netanyahu — extremely wise and knows exactly what he’s doing and probably right. In my opinion, God as “raised him up” for such a time as this.
Reminds me of the book “The Harbinger” – by a Messianic Jew who notes the “signs” we have been getting since 9/11 matching what God did with Israel in Isaiah 9:8-10 – warning them before their destruction…doing the same with us. Interesting.

i hope he gets voted out and the nationalists win and Avidgor Lieberman would be a better leader. he won’t attack Iran and put his country in danger by doing so and he knows Iran is not a threat to his country and he will not allow USA to influence his decisions that is someone you want. they infiltrate our goverment i don‘t see why we can’t give them a taste of their own medicine and get rid of the likud mad men.

  This whole situation doesn’t even make sense. The current government is good until, I believe, October 2013, yet they want to have early elections so they can get the stamp of approval to attack Iran. It really doesn’t make sense. Having the elections over a year early is pointless. As I’ve said before, if Iran isn’t fully prepared for this upcoming attack, they never will be. They’ve had more than enough time to prepare. I think they’ve had at least 3 to 4 years, not months, to get ready for an attack.

Drudge has a article saying that the Taliban is now stronger. Hmm, you mean us killing civilians is boosting their numbers? So if a father watches his children die in a accidental bomb attack is he more or less likely to pick up a gun and shoot at the people occupying his country?

We need to wake up. If we invade Iran over nothing we are inviting more hostility towards us. We cannot exterminate all of them. The more we kill them the more they will try to terrorize us.

If Israel is under threat we should help them. The problem is, they are not under a real threat. The Iranians are trying change leadership now. The more we ignore them the more likely it is that the country doesnt rally around their hate of us and Israel and focuses on their government being horrible.

  And Bin Laden would never lie. It was Saddam who was killing is own people (no bombing from 96-03) and Saddam got around the sanctions with the help of the UN. And of course, Bin Laden didn‘t mention that he was exiled from Saudi Arabia for plotting to overthrow the government and hated the Saudi’s as much as he hated the U.S.

  Yes, freedom is very dangerous isn’t it? I don’t smoke pot, but I think it should be legalized. Most pot users only want their pot. It’s not a gateway drug anymore than alcohol.   Ron Paul wants to end the occupation of these countries and stop the nation building. He doesnt end our military or believe we shouldnt protect ourselves.
  
  Which Muslim nation can attack our country? None of them can launch a real attack against our nation. First off none of them have the logistics to do it. Secondly none of them have the armed forces to do anything against our country.
  
  The head in the sand comments are just dumb. Our armed forces on our borders protecting our borders isnt head in the sand. Yes do Muslims hate us, but with our military they can do nothing but burn our flag on tv. With our troops not occupying their country can they set roadside bombs? No. Can they wear friendly uniforms and shoot our troops? No. Can they ambush truck drivers delivering supplies if we arent their? NO!!!!
  
  So the only real threat to our nation is terrorism internal and external. Using our military on our borders helps the external threat. Bringing our troops home helps end the internal terrorism the progressives have been doing for 100 years trying to bankrupt us.

  WANT – I was going to say the same as CATB — you need to educate yourself more about their strategies, ideology, etc. The polling can be done in such a way as to say whatever one wants, so don’t believe them. Frankly, I don’t trust anyone. When it comes to politics, “what you see and hear” is NOT “what you get” usually. In my opinion – they are all wrong about us women – in fact, they’re wrong about mostly everything…………LOL
