New Ad Compares North Koreans to U.S. Union Members, Saying Neither Can ‘Change the System’

Rick Berman Tells Neil Cavuto About New Ad Comparing Union Members to North Koreans

According to a recent ad released by the Center for Union Facts, citizens of North Korea are much like American union members in that neither are open to real change.

Fox News Insider reports:

Rick Berman, from the Center of Union Facts, joined Your World to defend the new ads and talked about the great responses they’ve gotten. He said, “It’s designed to tell people that if you live in North Korea, you can’t change the system that you’re living under. And if you’re in a workplace, you can’t change that system either if the union got voted in during the 1940s or the 50s or the 60s.”

Berman concluded, “They are taking a bad situation and making it worse for the average American worker and the president knows exactly what he is doing, he has created the most pro-union National Labor Relations Board in the history of the National Labor Relations Act.”

The funny thing is unions come from Communism, it is a staple in Communism and part of changing a country over from whatever they are to Communism. They were created here by anti Republic, anti Capitalist Communists and have since been portrayed as something else.

Interesting statement. Totally false but an interesting statement. The organized labor movement began in American with trade guilds that were brought over from England. As there are bad individuals with bad intentions within capitalism, so there are bad individuals with bad intentions within the labor movement. However, the notion that workers do not need to organize or should not have the right to organize within a free capitalistic society is nothing less than a totalitarian state. Collective bargaining is the only thing that keeps large corporations from eliminating the minimum wage and returning labor to indentured servants. Let’s keep in mind that beyond the investment stage, it is the workers who provide the real value of a company, not the executives and certainly not the wealthy investors. Workers who are paid reasonably for this contribution, buy things which create demand and fuel economic growth and create jobs. As the wealthy do not create jobs….they merely invest, along with equity funds and union pension plans, in the factors of production which satisfy this demand.

This is a call for “bottom up” action. The negative comparison is meant to enrage union members by insulting their sense of importance.

When I worked at McKinstry Mechanical in Seattle as a draftsman, my fire protection sprinkler drawings were engineered down to 1/16th of an inch. The pipes were delivered cut and threaded for assembly with numbering on the pipes so they knew how to assemble them. The union workers who assembled my work made 3 times what I did, go figure.

There is often a bit of confusion on the subject matter, but Fascism and Communism are almost like 2 sides of the same coin, the biggest difference is traditionally Fascism recognizes the ownership of private property and a sense of some degree of a capitalist market economy system. Modern China and Russia both fit these parameters. For mostly practical reasons Communism is dead, even in the most steadfast “Marxist” inspired nations. But appearances have to be maintained and lip service paid of course. Unionized labor was big in both Fascist and Communist nations. Nazism is just a brand of Fascism, Hitler gained the support of the largest (already existing) labor union in Germany (The German Workers Party)

But my shop steward said the public should pay more because of like our hard labor sometimes and coming to work most days, and not hanging out on a claim for 3 years and working a side job while in arbitration, or the myriad of mandantory breaks we didn’t take when it is “law” for us to take them and stuff and we need bigger retirements and stuff for our labors and work ethic thingy. Our shop steward is like a rock star at the local kari-oke thing and he should get waaay more money and we wish we could give him more in dues too for letting us work our own flex hours and punching each others time cards when we aren’t even at work. Unions and progressives. Which is the bigger pile of excrement.

Modern China and Russia are actually more like fascist countries, with a semi-free market economic sector. Which is ironic in many ways considering (for example) that Russia is always celebrating it’s victory in the great patriotic war over Nazism and Fascism. My family is Russian on my mothers side and we have friends from Moscow that go back to visit family. Before the Federation it was a five year prison sentence if a civilian was found to be in possession of a firearm, now lots of people have them. But we hate what Putin is doing to Russia now. I would say the United States is making it’s way down the fascist yellow brick road as well.

One more thing if he does get another 4 or more years , I think he will stay beyond his term since no one is stopping him at anything else. We all may be at some point summoned by our Government or some such agency to explain or renounce our political beliefs or face some kind of punishment or re education. If Obama is true to his ideology then he will order this done, no Communist would let it slide they would want to clean things up over time. It’s really a matter on how much trouble is being caused by the oposition or anyone who disagrees with the edicts. The more tame the populace the easier it will be for dear leader to advance his agenda. It all depends on how much anger and outrage we Americans express and what we do about it, the more unrest to longer it will take to clean it up and of course millions may die since no self respecting Communist could take over a country without killing a whole lot of people it’s just what they do and have always done. I would rather fight and die for my beliefs than to bow to them and become a slave.

Unions have destroyed industry in this country. How could they not. They are adversaries of whatever business they are involved in. They have destroyed the textile, steel and suto industries. We make NOTHING in this country any longer and it all stems from unions jacking up the prices of the products the business produces because of unrealistic wages and benefits that can’t compete in the world market. Businesses give up and move their product production overseas so they can compete and stay in business.

Well to be fair, it’s not all unions, it’s unions, super high taxes, and government policies that make it more profitable for raw material producers to sell their raw materials over seas than refining them in this country. The textile/furniture was killed because farmers were given huge government subsidies if they sold raw cotton overseas instead of in the us, then we had huge tariffs on thread and cloth, that wasn’t charged on finished clothes or furniture.

It’s really about changing our economic and political system into something that is closer to Communism. Strengthen unions or use them to advance the agenda, notice nothing much has been said about GM moving the Volt to China. Unions should be screaming their heads off and we hear nothing from the Left. The more weakened the country and it’s population while maintaining control of civil unrest only advances their agenda. Unions are and have always been influenced or infiltrated by Communist’s now of course they are permitted to run unions. Obama is in the middle of sharing missile technology with the Russians, at the same time is proposing troop reductions in all branches of the military. He by passes Congress and the Senate when ever possible, he thinks and talks to the public like their children, all acts similar of a dictator. While we all witness the GOP self destruct and beat each other up, a Ron Paul possible third party potential that would gaurantee a Obama victory. Micheal Savage is right if he gets another 4 years were toast! This guy hates America as it was founded and wants to destroy it . Our president wants to redistribute the wealth, that includes military technology, missile technology not just our tax dollars and our jobs.

SHOWMESTATEGUY, I agree. I can understand that they are in fear of loosing their high paying jobs and benefits, but at the cost of our freedom and our country? If things go as the Progressives want whose to say that they won’t eventually get thrown under the bus as well as everyone else when they are no longer needed? There might still be unions but I think all will be forced to be a part of one and all will pay dues. However I think the union will no longer be for workers rights . It will be a money machine for those on top. The benefits will become a thing of the past as well. The workers are sadly being used.

My spouse is an unwilling union member, and I see firsthand what a bunch of thieves and thugs the union leaders are.
