New Ad: Fiorina Slams Boxer‘s ’Say Senator’ Demand

In the California Senate seat battle, Carly Fiorina has released a new ad poking fun at Barbara Boxer’s infamous “say Senator instead of ma’am” line.

In case you missed it, last June Boxer awkwardly called out General Michael Walsh during a Senate hearing for calling her ma’am instead of Senator (an odd request considering military members are programed from day one to address superiors as sir and ma’am). “I worked so hard to get that title,” she told the General.

Fiorina replays the moment in her new ad, while claiming “I’ll really go to work, to end the arrogance in Washington”:

H/T: Hot Air

According to the recent RCP numbers, Boxer leads Fiorina by an average of 5.5 points.

I hope that Carly wins. I also hope that this is not her only ad. It is easy to show Boxer’s arrogance as her tenure in the Senate is replete with examples. If I were a voter in California, and for the districts that I am looking at here in my own area, I’m looking beyond the mud to see what it is that the person stands for. I have not seen all of her ads so I cannot say what she has run, but I hope there are some out there that speak to what she stands for and not just against the blind arrogance of her opponent.

Good ad, but she should show that the General actually addresses Boxer as Ma’am in a very respectful and polite manner. This ad should run around the clock until the polls close in November. The exchange illustrated the complete disconnect between the liberals and our military in a way that an advertising firm could only dream of. As a veteran it made me sick to see this.

Term limits, Term limits, Term limits! People like boxer and mccain are prime examples as is frankendodd on why we need term limits. My idea is two terms but not in a row. In four year term they work one year and campaign for three. By seperating the terms they have no reason to campaign.

I like your idea. Heck, we wouldn’t even need limits – you can run as many times as you want, just not concurrently. I‘d add that you can’t run for any offices concurrently at any level. That would sure eliminate “professional” politicians.

@Jsor2112Respect needs to be EARNED.. however, calling someone MA‘AM IS respectful unless of course it’s a MALE than SIR is respectful.. Boxer THINKS being Senator is like being a QUEEN or some other royal title.. since when is SENATOR, CONGRESSWOMAN/MAN or for even that matter PRESIDENT become something that goes before who they are?? when they address the CEO’S of companies do they say CEO such and such?? Well that’s THEIR title.. That is WHY our government is out of control they THINK they are more than mere servants of the people PAID by the people..

Respect is earned not “deserved”. Seems there is a little confusion on the subject, but now back to the show. Ma’am is a polite term of respect while “Senator” is a name for one hundred elected people who sit in Washington and do little to earn respect. Boxer is right, the officer was wrong to address her in such a respectful tone.

I hear you js, and agree. The problem here is that Babs was disresectful towards Walsh. He is also deserving of respect. And he was treating her in a respectful manner. She wanted to make a point of the power she wields. It was petty and rude and displayed her ignorance.

My conclusion is that she’s an arrogant clod. If she wants respect, she’s now in the hole and needs to earn it back. I wouldn’t bet a buck on that happening. ( lol! )

Ronald Reagan lived by a quote that I will paraphrase “There is no limit to where a man can go or what a man can do if he doesn’t care who gets the credit”. This is an ideal progressives could never live by. It’s all about building legacies for them and taking credit for the “good” things and blaming others for the “bad” things. That is why our current president continues to blame Bush for all that’s wrong with our economy. The word “Humble” does not exist in the progressives vocabulary.

Why was Beck’s rally so popular? Why does the Tea Party even exist? Thousands of people saw the FEW reports on Rev.Wright and Bill Ayers and made their decisions right then that the “Speech Giver” was a RADICAL. Then came along the SPENDULAS BILL and believe it or not the HOMER SIMPSON”S read it!! The Tea Parties started after this. It is NOT the paying of tax’s but the CRAP they are spent on!! More people became aware!!
Then the Health Care Bill and the way it was FORCED down the throat of the Blue Dog’s and backroom deals. More people became AWARE!!
The TEA PARTY is sick and tired of the “Government Stupid” as a whole and believes ALL of congress needs to be fired!!
People like me who have let APATHY set in started to watch Beck and learned many NEW things, like what a PROGRESSIVE was!!
The story is not about how the TEA PARTY is taking over the repubs. IT IS ABOUT the PROGRESSIVES,SOCIALIST and COMMUNIST that have taken over OUR “Government Stupid”
The center has moved RIGHT and the RIGHT has moved FAR-RIGHT because we all know “BETTER DEAD THAN RED ”
This country was based on INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS and we became a land of INDIVIDUALS. Our ancesters moved from the east coast to the wildernesses to be as far away from GOVERNMENTS as possiable. They knew TYRANNY.
Read the history of Olgethorpes’s grand plan for Georgia. It was a purely SOCIALIST set up. The people were governed in evry aspect of their lives. It FAILED just because of this. The colonist fled to FREEDOM which was right across the Savannah River in S.C.!! Or into the Indian lands west!!!

Now they are after the FOOD we CHOOSE to eat!! The fact is we live longer today and there are MORE healthy people than OBESE!!

WE THE PEOPLE might be Homer Simpson’s but we understand that ole Homer just might have done a better job in Congress than all of these so-called educated ELITIST with their POLITICALLY CORRECT CRAP!!! spewing NON-SENSE from their pie-holes!!
