New Ad From Romney Campaign Questions Obama’s Honesty

A new ad from the Romney campaign calls out President Barack Obama and his surrogates for being dishonest about their Republican challenger sending jobs overseas, attacking “Obama’s dishonest campaign” and even playing back video from his then-Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton in 2008 saying, “Shame on you Barack Obama.”
“When a president doesn’t tell the truth, how can we trust him to lead?” the narrator asks, while clips of fact checkers debunking Obama ads flash on the screen and the viewer watches Clinton slamming Obama in 2008.
“But America expects more from a president,” the ad concludes. “Obama’s dishonest campaign: Another reason America has lost confidence in Barack Obama.”
The ad is titled “No Evidence,” and comes simultaneous with the release of www.mittromney.com/truth, a site listing nonpartisan fact checkers that have discredited distortions from the Obama campaign about Romney’s record.
The Weekly Standard reports that the ad will begin airing immediately in swing states like Ohio and Virginia.
“Just like he did against Hillary Clinton, President Obama now continues to spread dishonest attacks about Mitt Romney to distract from his failed record,” reads a press release with the video. “Even though fact check after fact check have found his claims to be false, he continues to mislead the American people. It is no wonder why our country has lost confidence in his leadership.”
The Washington Post notes that the ad comes as Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter is calling Romney a liar. In a statement to reporters, Cutter reportedly highlighted a Boston Globe story reporting that Romney stayed at Bain three years longer than he claims. Calling it “Romney’s Big Bain Lie.” Cutter says, “Now, we know that he wasn’t telling the truth … It’s time for Mitt Romney to come clean.”

It will more than likely fail. One must never underestimate the huge numbers of bottom feeders in this country that can be motivate to vote for Obama just to piss-off traditional Americans, or for a free meal.
I would run nothing but comparison adds featuring Obama and his radical left ideology, but would also make sure to tie it into ultimate failure and destruction in the end. Radical leftists are frightening, so you have to frighten the average American watching the ad.
Most people think communism or Marxism is a “bad” word, but they don’t realize how many people in this world are subjected to this bankrupt ideology, and that the terms are real, and they’re facts of life – and they never work. Probably would also serve as a wake-up call to those on the brink to help them realize it is not the path truly wise men travel.
Everything else is a waste of time.

It’s just amazing to me that the Ron Paul guys keep talking like all would be well if Paul had gotten the nod. They would be dragging dirt up on Paul and making him look like a total nut. I would like to see Romney be a fighter, but has he ever been that type of candidate? I thought he looked pretty strong at the NAACP. I guess we’ll see.

Posted on July 12, 2012 at 3:25pmGonzo – I voted for Paul, but that was more of a protest vote because by the time my state voted, it didn’t matter anymore, and also Bachmann was out and Palin didn’t run. Either of these two understands you cannot be a nice person when running for POTUS – the truth is ugly and painful – just like Obama’s wake of destruction.
You’re right, Paul would have been marginalized, but I wonder whether he wouldn’t “release the hounds” if you will, and go right for the heart and label the Marxist what he is – and be relentless and never let up.
I remember as a 6th grader back in 1980, listening to conversations of the adult teachers and many of them saying – and saying it often – how “mean” the things Reagan was saying about Carter were. They were truly appalled and almost seemed hurt. Reagan was obviously my choice back then, but I never forgot those conversations and it reminded me that if you want to lead a nation, you have to be one of those types of people that isn’t afraid of being called an ass…you-know-what. And, I don’t believe Romney has it in him to do it. And, if he doesn’t, how serious is he about being elected POTUS? Because what would be staring at him in terms of work will make being labeled mean look like a mole hill compared with a mountain.
I obviously support Romney, but he needs to pivot big time, take off the skirt and find some stones, or it’s over and my future is pretty much relegated to working until I drop dead.

His defense for the lies about his business record, isn’t that Bain Capital did not contribute to the outsourcing of job at the expense of American workers…it is I wasn’t the head of the company then. Weak given he made a ton of money off of his current Bain investments and hasn’t criticized the practice. The man has off shore accounts in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands. Without question the most negative thing that has happened in the last 5 years was, and I’ll be a gentleman here, the miss-management of the financial system by the Investment and Commercial bankers. Witness what the Barkley Banks management was doing with LIBOR. And now people want to put a wealthy banker into the White House. Yea that makes sense. The wealthy, bankers and large corporations own our government and are running the country. So logic would tell you that if it is not going well, they are doing a poor job. Take the time to research who lobbies for regulations and federal programs and spending and who those lobbyists work for. When you follow the money you will finally understand who is ruining the country.

I wouldn‘t have voted for Romney even if it hadn’t been rapped up though. I agree with a lot of what Paul says, but I am not so blind to reality that I think he would run away with this thing if he had won. The ideal candidate just didn’t run.

So, to reach these people, you have to continually drive home the inconvenient truth that Obama is a flaming Marxist and that Marxist regimes have never been able to sustain themselves for any length of time. Europe is Marxist-lite and they’re finished. Maybe Germany can be the only valid argument, but the problem is no other country is Germany, so if you would never reasonably expect to get Germanic results in any other country, with different motivations, work ethics, etc.

Oh yes Obama why are you allowing San Francisco to contract out to the Chinese all that Golden Gate bridge work? Is that not contracting out? I’m sure there are a lot of others you are blind to.
