In a new campaign ad meant to address voters’ doubts head on, California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman admits she is a “billionaire with no government experience,“ but says she is a better option compared to her opponent who is a ”longtime politician with no plan for the future”:
Politico‘s Ben Smith has some fun using the the ad’s juxtaposition format. Here’s how the ad might look if some other politicians produced it:
Linda McMahon: “I know many of you see this election as an unhappy choice between a pompous liar and a gazillionaire carnival barker.”
Harry Reid: “I know many of you see this election as an unhappy choice between a raving lunatic and a mumbling radical.”
Rick Scott: “I know many of you see this election as an unhappy choice between a liberal stiff and a dynamic swindler.”
Andrew Cuomo: “I know many of you see this election as an unhappy choice between a thug and a sociopath.”
Ah, the fruit of attack ads.

Report Post »California is Bankrupt, FACT!
They vote these bunch of CLOWNS in everytime and expect different RESULTS!
Or the very few times they vote for Republican (Arnold S), they won’t let him make the tough decisions, so nothing changes
Most likely they again will vote(November 2) for the Democratic Choice (80%) and get the same result…….
California is a waste of time>>>>>
They must sacrafice to save themselves, but they won’t

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:49amHow can we possibly, for goodness sakes, change the decline in our Country, when people continue to do the same things over and over and over????
California, unlike New York where I’m from, has two businesswomen, both very successful, who can bring new perspectives to California’s massive problems. BTW, why they would want to take on these problems I don’t know, but they do and backed it with their own money.
This ad is excellent in that she is responding to the leftist attitude that being successful in business and making money is a bad thing … so yes the ad says, “I am a billionaire without government experience” … that sounds perfect for what they need in that crumbling State…California.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:33amBill Clinton, Barack & Michelle Obama and every other liberal on the campaign trail now are enjoying large liberal, democratic crowds because everyone is OUT of work. How gullible are these people to show up to these events, clapping and yelling “We support you Oh Great One” then 30 minutes later they all have to leave to go get their unemployment checks video attached) or food stamps. Pathetic!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:30amOur Founders never intended there be career politicians…..they expected business people and farmers and “regular folk” to be our representatives. So, the fact that she has no political experience is okay with me. I agree with other comments that the money it takes to get elected is too much and is prohibitive to 95% of any person who would consider running.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:54amThe lady obviously knows how success is accomplished. She obviously wants ALL Americans to have the opportunity to reach for their dreams, as she did. People like her have a wisdom that NO members of congress has. She has wisdom and loyalty to America, which qualifies her for the position she campaigns for. Reid is the exact opposite of this lady, its that simple. I wish her the very best.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:34amI thought it was a good ad. California is in great need of someone with business experience. She can offer this, Brown is just a another career politician looking to line his own pockets. If he wins, that would mean he gets FOUR government pensions. He messed up this state when he was governor. Californians your state is going down in flames, thanks to the unions. He is in bed with them, wake up !!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:34amI’m proud of Ms Whitman…she started with relatively little, parleyed talent-energy-uncanny business sense -and-a solid business plan into a fortune…and now she’s putting that hard-earned money where her mouth is to get a job with a salary that amounts to little more than a rounding-error in her annual income.
So why would she want a job that pays so little and is fraught with such peril and pain?
I suspect, because she actually cares what happens to California and the people who live there. There certainly is no glory in being Governor of that place, but there are far more opportunities for failure than success so long as the legislature is dominated by insane Leftist thug-politicians.
Although I don’t live in California (for which favor I thank God every day), I believe Ms Whitman stands a chance of actually making a difference for the better out there…and if I could, I’d vote for her.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 11:02amI live in AZ and also glad I do not live in CA, I am so tired of the non-stop whining of the dingbat progressives there demanding from us here constantly for “more electricity, more water, more this, more that…” at the same time daring to critizise us in AZ for being unamerican on the border issues and not being up to their eco-communist reformation demands.
Its even worse in the winter when the snowbirds from there come here and complain about the weather.

Maybe it‘s time to make the house and the senate an obligation like jury duty and just pick’em out of the phone book. Makes solid education about our country’s history and political system imperative too!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:32amI think the financing if campaigns needs reform. If it continues to take millions upon millions if dollars to field a candidate, only people with millions will run. Once in office they must begin accumulating funds for the next cycle. How can an elected official get anything done for constituents when they are fundraising from day one?

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:27amCalifornians have a choice between a producer who understands jobs like, Whitman, or a perpetual taker and entitlement supporter like Jerry Brown.
Report Post »The choice should be obvious to anyone endowed with logic and common sense.
Whitman‘s history vs Jerry Brown’s doesn’t seem to leave any doubt. Why is Brown even budging the needle in the polls?
Nothing new here though, I‘ve been dumbfounded by Californians ever since the 60’s.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 1:20pmYou are so correct. How can you as an educated citizen vote for a 40 year politician over a lady who spent decades building thousands of jobs???? California will burn someday and that day is not too far off as long as they rely upon indoctrination over common sense. It just shows that when a state or country nears the edge of the cliff by having more then half the citizens as net tax recievers the elections are lost to dependence before one person goes to the polls.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 11:42amToday’s Daily Rant Brought to YOU by Fired Up Free Man !
Revolution is in the air! People are tired of the sterile environment enforced upon them by THEIR government. We’re taxed the minute we wake up in the morning till we fall exhausted into our beds at night. There should be no bill passed that doesn’t have the extinction of at least five more laws. The trouble with the drug laws is that as soon as government is given a reason to interfere in privet lives they feel free to insinuate themselves into all aspects of our lives. We are either free or we are NOT. A man’s home used to be his castle instead our politicians have interfered with our CHILDREN, our HOMES, even our PERSONAL lives, it’s time to WAKE UP and fight back! It’s unfortunate that people use drugs, but still it’s none of the governments business. Are we free or are we not? Everybody must be responsible for their own actions. There will be winners and losers but at least this way there are some winners.
Come and add to the daily rant of Fired Up Free Man’s Facebook page!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 1:13pmSnowleapord, there is staggering irony in your post. Do you read what other people write here? “Liar” is the single most used a adjective on this website, followed my “Marxist.” Your posts warn darkly of the coming battle between God and his army (the Tea Party) and Satan (the Democrats). Democrats are aligned with the forces of darkness and carrying out the commands of the Devil himself. Please. The vast majority of posts at this website consist of nothing more than ad homonym attacks against Democrats, including yours. I suggest you take the beam out of your eye, before casting the first stone (sorry for the mixed biblical methaphor).
