New Anti-Palin Book’s Wild Claims: Cocaine Use & Multiple Affairs

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin isn’t a stranger to controversy. From Troopergate to conspiracy theories about her son Trig’s birth, John McCain’s 2008 running mate is well-versed in setting the second straight. And that’s a good thing, because the hits just keep on coming.
An upcoming book that is set for release later this month makes some wild allegations about the politician — accusations that are sure to inspire debate, disbelief and plenty of reaction. The book “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” written by Joe McGinniss, claims that Palin once snorted cocaine with her husband. This purported drug use allegedly took place while Palin and her husband, Todd, were snowboarding with friends (the author claims the two snorted the drug off of an overturned oil drum).
At another point in the book, McGinniss writes that Palin once secretly smoked marijuana as well. Adding flavor to the story, she allegedly used the drug with a professor at her college. As if these charges weren’t enough to send heads spinning, the book also alleges that Palin engaged in at least two affairs. Mail Online has more:
Mrs Palin, 47, had a one-night stand with Miami Heat basketball star Glen Rice less than a year before she eloped with her husband, the book claims.
She is said to have met the 6ft 8ins player in 1987 when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska and she worked as a sports reporter for KTUU television.
It is also claimed that she had a six month affair with Brad Hanson, who ran a snowmobile dealership with her husband Todd – a betrayal which led to Todd dissolving their business.
Rice is said to have confirmed the incident. The book goes on to quote friends who have known the Palins for years. Apparently, these individuals believe that the former governor was a bad mother.
McGinness’ book, which will be released on September 20, has long been anticipated. Some may recall the fact that the author, who has made no bones about his attempt to expose Palin, rented a home next door to her Wasilla, Alaska, residence last year. Since completing “The Rogue,” he has left the area.

Also, in a 2010 interview with NBC’s “The Today Show,” McGinness said:
“The power Palin has to incite hatred and her willingness and readiness to do it… She has pushed a button and unleashed the hounds of hell and now that they’re out there slavering, and barking and growling. And that’s the same kind of tactic, and I’m not calling her a Nazi, but that‘s the same kind of tactic that the Nazi troopers used in Germany in the ’30s and I don‘t think there’s any place for it America.”

Some would certainly contend that McGinness is engaging in some questionable tactics. It will be intriguing to see how the media and citizens, alike, react to these starting allegations.
Whether the book will have an impact on her political career, should she choose to continue one, is yet to be seen.

Distract her from her appointed mission? Well, let’s see, her mission it to make money, seems she would want to sue everybody associated with the book. But having the tawdry tales called out in evidence through testimony of first-hand participants – well that just wouldn’t do.
If the allegations are false, they would be very hard to prove in court. Palin knows that. So, given that, were she innocent and sued, she would – exoneration and lots of cash.
Sorry, all signs point to guilty.

That makes me think that this guy–like him or hate him–must have some sworn statements or corroborating evidence before he’d put his nutz on the chopping block. This author has been around enough to know the consequences of spreading untruths in print with a person of Palin’s stature.
Alot can be deduced by Palin’s response. Short of a lawsuit, I’m inclined to believe the allegations. (Recreational drug use and a couple affairs–seems plausible compared to the crap that most people do.)

I’m not, simply because I believe in “innocent until proven guilty.” However, I agree she should sue for libel if she has a case; if they’re lying, then she can take back any money this guy makes. More likely though she can milk it for controversy; Palin seems to like nothing more than to have people talk about her. Probably because when people talk, she makes money!

Posted on September 14, 2011 at 12:56pmI think it is very hard to sue for this sort of thing. I would think that the lawyers have made sure that the wording is just slippery enough that Joe can cast the aspersion and not be pinned down to a pure libelous statement.
However, there is something more relevant to consider…. even if Sarah Palin could sue, would she really want to subject herself to having to go through discovery where the jerk off’s lawyers would be able to ask her any questions about everything in her whole life? I doubt it. They would go on a fishing expedition for anything, just anything, that they could use to smear her with.
For that reason, she will not sue. Why bother? The people who hate her and dislike her will love the book and those who don’t will not buy it or read it. So who cares?
Did Bill Clinton ever sue anyone about the conspiracy theories and all the scandals? Has Barack Obama sued anyone about all the bad stuff written about him? or George Bush for that matter? Look, if you are such a public figure as they are, it does not pay, even if you were to win, to waste your time on this sort of crap.
And finally and most importantly, would she rather be in court or out campaigning to be the next President of the United States?

I know this from personal observation and experience that I will not share on here. She would have never in a million years done any of the things this slime bag is reported as saying of her. I do not know if he attacked her spiritual beliefs or church as I wouldn’t use the pages from his book to line my dog kennel, but she takes her faith VERY seriously, always has and now relies on God more than ever. She has been blessed not because she is so smart and beautiful (which she is) but because she puts her faith and trust in the God of the Bible! Of course Libs hate that because it makes them look bad and with nothing to live for, they delight in attacking others with $ signs blinding them to the truth.
