Who said that there’s no bipartisanship in Washington DC anymore? Today we learn that our political leaders are working across party lines to launch a new congressional caucus on the very important issue of…inflammatory bowel disease.
Politico reports:
Congress has a new caucus on an important issue today: inflammatory bowel diseases….
This caucus will formally be called the Congressional Crohn’s and Colitis Caucus, and it will raise awareness on the inflammatory bowel diseases that the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America says affects 1.4 million Americans.
It’ll be chaired by Reps. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) and Ander Crenshaw (R-Fla.)
“As a parent of a child with Crohn’s and colitis, I have witnessed first-hand the often debilitating effects of this disease,” Crenshaw said, according to a press release. “Alongside Congressman Jackson, I am continuing to help raise much-needed awareness about issues related to Crohn’s and colitis—across party lines.”
