New Jersey Restaurant Owner Ordered to Remove American Flag Banners

Another patriotic American is reportedly under threat for refusing to remove his American flag, or, in this case, flags. This time, a restaurant owner in Middle Township, New Jersey has been told by the township to remove his American flags as they are displayed in a banner-style.
Apparently, the township has an ordinance in place prohibiting the public display of any “stringed banners.” However, Media Research Center states the township also allows American flags to be flown or displayed without limitation. So, which is it?
The owner of the Four Seasons Diner, originally from Greece, reportedly told reporters he will not remove his banners and would “die” and “go to jail” for the American flag. ”I want to see who is going to take these flags down,” he said.
Meanwhile, the township is threatening to fine the owner $1000.

Like with the lemonade stand getting yanked we need to ID who the NAZI(s) are that initiated this crackdown. There are plenty of stupid laws on the books, but it takes a JERK to look them up or have it in the back of their head and then go looking for a violator! That is where the focus should be. This guy loves this counrty and someone in spitting in his face right now. We need to find these people and expose them. I will bet whomever it is is a hardcore liberal progressive!
The longer people stay silent or just complain about the issue the more ground the proggies will gain. We must stop the complaining and find out who the starts this stuff in the first place. Im telling you all the more you complain and wonder where that someone is to do something the worst things will be. You need to understand that person you are waiting for to do something IS YOU!!

They were written by imperfect humans who accidentally allowed a contradiction into the wording of their laws. Now, the people that are threatening to fine this dude, they might very well be America-haters, or at least desperate for some city revenue. Ammend the law on banner displays to allow them with the use of the American flag or ammend the American flag law to allow them to be flown without restriction with the exception of banner displays. Easy, huh? Yeah I had to really overclock my brain to come up with that solution.

Posted on July 17, 2011 at 9:33amI agree with DR NORDO. This regulation was probably written by a low-level dweeb, who thought he was rescuing the town from tacky used car lot advertising.
When the restaurant owner wanted to show his love-of-country, an anal-retentive control freak decided to make an issue of it – with the threat of the $1000 fine. [Though I am not a lawyer, if the township let this go with no response, the next person who wanted to hang such displays could challenge the regulation in court, so they have kind of "boxed themselves in" with this regulation.]
If everybody just calms down, maybe the town will work out some sort of compromise, wherein the restaurant owner can make some other sort of display with the American flag. Or they need to rewrite the regulation.
[I know that there are Leftists that desire to expunge the American flag from all public displays, but I suspect that is not the case, here - unless the town refuses to compromise. As level-headed, logical Conservatives (or Libertarians), we need to stop "flying off the handle" (as Liberals do) over every little issue. We have a higher standard to uphold. Personally, if I was the restaurant owner, when I was threatened with such an absurd fine, I would first ask - "OK, how much bad publicity do you want? Have you thought this through? There is room for a compromise here, unless you want it on the internet."]

As a son of a naturalized citizen and first generation American on my mothers side, I must say I find that those that came here from other places in the world have a far more patriotic (live by the flag, die for the flag) spirit than most of the other citizens in our country, rivaled probably only by military families.
