New Obama Book Shocker: Kennedys and Obamas at War — Caroline Considers Obama a ‘Liar’

  • Despite endorsing Obama in 2008, JFK’s daughter Caroline now considers Obama a “liar,” according to a family source in Edward Klein’s new book on Obama called “The Amateur.”
  • Caroline’s past support for Obama, which was mirrored by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, caused a riff in the family. In fact, Klein writes of an incident where Bobby Kennedy Jr. got in his uncle Ted‘s face over Ted’s support for the president.
  • Some of the Kennedys’ diminishing support for the president is due to the Obamas snubbing several members of the Kennedy family on multiple occasions — one that sent Ethel Kennedy on a furniture-turning rant.
  • But despite the tension, both families know the Kennedys have no one else to support, and that “really pisses [Caroline] off.”

Back in 2008, Caroline Kennedy — the only surviving child of former President John F. Kennedy — delivered a rousing endorsement of Barack Obama. “I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them,” she wrote in the New York Times back then. “But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.”

But if you believe the explosive new book on Obama by Edward Klein, “The Amateur,” that sentiment has given way to pure animosity.

According to the book, the Kennedys used to be split about their support for Obama. The case for him was championed by the late Senator Ted Kennedy along with Caroline. Those opposed, and who supported Hillary Clinton, included Robert Kennedy Jr. (Bobby), son of the former Attorney General, and his sisters — Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and Kerry Kennedy.

“There had always been tensions at Kennedy family gatherings — fist fights and overturned tables were not unheard of — and this event was no exception,” Klein writes in an advanced copy obtained by The Blaze. That “event” was a meeting in 2009, which featured a who’s who in the Kennedy family, including Ted. The family figurehead, a family source tells Klein, tried to propose a toast to Obama twice, and Caroline joined in. But not everyone was happy about it: the night included a finger-pointing argument between Bobby and Ted, and Bobby even got so angry he broke his fluted glass after squeezing it too hard.

That scene is significant if only for its juxtaposition with what’s happening now: the Kennedy family’s support, Klein writes, isn’t as pronounced now. Caroline, for example, has undergone a transformation after several snubbings by the Obamas. One in particular — where a vacationing Obama refused to meet with her despite her home being in the vicinity near Martha’s Vineyard — “had turned into an insult.”

Klein then quotes a family member who notes the transformation:

“Through these [spies that the Kennedy family has in the Obama administration] and other people, Caroline heard back that there was a lot of nasty shit being said about the Kennedys by the president and Michelle,” the family member continued. “There were catty remarks about how badly the Kennedy women dressed, and how their houses were shabby and threadbare. Caroline got the impression that most of this negativity was coming from Michelle, who didn’t want the Kennedys to be part of the administration for fear that they would have too much influence over the president.”

That same family member continues in the book:

“Gradually, Caroline began to change her tune and side with Bobby and Kathleen [Kennedy Townsend] against the Obamas. Unlike Jackie, who was completely a-political, Caroline is a liberal with a capital L. When Obama didn’t raise taxes to balance the  budget, Caroline marked him down. In her eyes, he‘s a mess because he doesn’t follow the liberal bible on politics. More important, Caroline discovered that the Obamas didn’t give a damn about her support. [...]

Then comes the money quote:

“It really annoyed Caroline when comparisons were made by the media between Michelle and Jackie. Caroline had a word for such comparisons; she called them ‘odious.’ She really got annoyed. And when she began to fall out of love with the Obamas, love was replaced by outright scorn. Now she says things about Obama like, ‘I can’t stand to hear his voice any more. He’s a liar and worse.’” [Emphasis added]

Ethel Kennedy, “the matriarch of the family,” similarly felt scorned, according to Klein. He tells a story of her invitation — extended to the First Family — being ignored by the Obamas. She got so upset “that she went on a rampage inside her house, cursing the president and turning over furniture.”

And to top it all of, Caroline, the family source tells Klein in the book, believes “that as a loyal Democrat, she has nowhere to go, no one else to possibly support except Obama.”

And guess what: “the Obamas know that she has nowhere else to go, so they see no point in being nice to her.”

That “really pisses her off.”

    Axe the finances – overwelm the US with debt. – slavery to the world banking cartel
    Axe US respectability – drone anyone anywhere , start uprisings, make war for NATO.
    Axe US nationalism – support one world gov. through the UN.
    Axe morals – support gay marriage, etc.
    Axe homeowners – settle for peanuts with the banks, let the bankers run the Country.
    Axe private property rights – Agenda 21
    Axe business – kill the coal industry, kill oil industry
    Axe US dollar value – Americans lose purchasing power of the dollar – Fed Reserve at fault

    That’s about it. Isn’t that enought? It’s time to remove Obummer, oust the Federal Reserve and exit the UN.

      Not to piss anyone off, but, related to destroying the US………here in NJ, there is a bill sponsored by 4 lib North Jersey state senators to have TAXPAYERS purchase foreclosed properties for low-income, current public-housing families. If NJ thinks they have problems now, just wait till those “low-income” families move into, than start to terrorize stable neighborhoods. The taxpayers will move out, than the low lifes will have the whole state.
      Just think of how your property value will completely evaporate.
      The upside for the Communist Democrats is that they will have created, as they call it, “social justice.”

      Oh please, a third thread on this book? Well, my admiration goes to the marketing people for this book: they rely on this website for a new thread with each little tidbit they release daily in order to build interest in the book. It’s working, and I recommend each of you go and buy the book, it’s sure to support your preconceived hatred.

      But do intelligent conservatives support this guy? Actually no, even conservatives have declared this guy a hack.

      As I’ve said on the other two threads, Peggy Noonan is a paid commentator on FOX and was a speech writer for Ronald Reagan. You’ve seen her. She reviewed his last book, one about Hilary Clinton which claimed among other sordid thing was that Hilary Clinton is a lesbian and the only reason she got pregnant was the Bill forcibly raped her. Yeah, that kind of stuff. Here’s the review:

      Here’s the line I like best in the review, “Mr. Klein’s problem is that he assumes the market is conservative and conservatives are stupid. They’re not, actually. They want solid sourcing and new information that is true.”

      JZS, Peggy Noonan is an uber left wing hack, and I believe that you and I have had words about her before. Agreed, Eward Klein usually can’t hold his water. But, as pointed out about those who word at Fox, just look at the number of Democrat operatives who now work for all of the other networks. If any are hacks, they all are.
      Oh yeah, LOL I do like Noonan’s story title. Literally means One Work.

      JZS seems to be stuck on the idea that we should care what Peggy has to say about anything.

      He is doing his very best to try and snuff out any interest in this book. I find it rather comical.

      I won’t buy the book, but given all the publicity it’s getting, I’m sure it will be a best seller. JZS doesn’t realize that when it comes to books, movies, etc. even bad publicity is good publicity.

      JZS, when the next hit piece on Sarah comes out, I expect to see your outrage.

      RJJ, and MONK, I saw your posts on the lost WWII fighter. Are both of you aviation buffs?

      THERIGHTSOFBILLY, I don’t think that JZS is really old enough to remember the truth about Noonan. Yeah, she worked for a short time as a Reagan speech writer, and even wrote for the WSJ. But, she has turned out some really liberal writings when at CBS, and other of those uber left rags and networks. I guess when he did a search for her name it showed her employment with the Reagan administration and BING a light went on in his head that she just has to be a radical right wing conservative. Dislodge head from rectum and read many pieces of her work. I do realize just what the words that I write far more than you want to believe that I do. I’ve lived through the works of all of the people apparently far longer than you, and I had my eyes and ears open through their travels.

King Hussein isn’t a democrat he is a marxist who is pushing a progressive socialist agenda. King Hussein only wishes to use the money of the rich liberals to take over the country. Once the socialist have control they will tax the wealth out of the liberal 1% and run their over reaching government using taxes collected by all those who were stupid enough to support this communist takeover.

      They may be awakening to the fraud that is King Hussein, but it will be costly to their party and it will be costly to all Americans.

      THERIGHTSOFBILLY, Dang Bud, forgot to respond to your last sentence of that post. I am more of a military historian myself and have had the opportunity to visit a number of battlefield sites, as well as museums, and locations of famous aircraft. When I lived in Tampa back in the ’70s a Vietnam vet Marine Buddy of mine and I used to check in at Tampa Downs small airport and watch Color Me Gone, a P51D. Unfortunately while stationed at Ft Drum I was at Wheeler Sack Army Airfield one day during a visit of old aircraft and one of the pilots overheard me talking about Color… and told me the plane had crashed killing the owner pilot. I heard the news in the mid ’80s but do not know the date of the crash. While at Drum my Mom and Dad visited picking me up to tour parts of Canada and New England. Before leaving the WWII B29 Miss Fifi, and a B24 that I do not recall the name of at the moment were just being put on display at Watertown Int’l Airport. I did a lot of flying with a guy who was training to be an instructor at that airport then and the crews of the plane gave my Dad me a personal tour through the planes. Once we got to the USS Massachusetts, and members of PT Boats Inc were rebuilding an early Higgins boat next to it, with a huge model display of an Elco 80 Footer inside the Battleship. I was also a member of that club while I was building the old Lindbergh 1/32 scale model Elco. We got another personal tour by I believe a WWII PT crewman. It was great.

      THERIGHTSOFBILLY, I’ve personally had my ass in the red webbing of an awful lot of C130s and a number of C141s and C5s. The C17 came along only shortly before I retired. But, I’ve spent most of my time in the air in OH-58s and Hueys, but have logged a lot of time in Blackhawks as well. Only a few flights and oddly enough I was stationed on an AAF in Germany with the 111th Avn Bde started and where a lot of CH47s were just then being converted to the Delta model in ‘86. I never flew on one while there. The old Chinook or better known as the Shlt Hook.

      Funny you should mention it, but the P51D is my favorite plane of all time. The B is OK, but the profile view of the D is just beautiflul.

      Have seen a few of the modified ones at the races.

      After that, I always liked the looks of the F-4 Phantom. Saw the Blue Angels fly those years ago.

      Sounds like you had an interesting and fun career.

      very rarely do I agree with JZS on anything, but I believe folks might be making much to do about nothing. I have my doubts about the validity of this book, and it miffs me me when folks spread lies about Obama.

      The reason it miffs me about the lies, is because there is so much truth. Stuff like his declaring his run for the senate seat in the house of Bill Ayers (a known terrorist), his ties to Rev Wright, his firing of the head of GM as a symbolic move of destroying capitalism, his shoving health care down the throat of a nation that did not want it…….

      I’m of two minds about the U.N. On one hand, we should stay in the U.N. and keep them on our soil in the same vane as keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. On the other hand, the organization’s only successful activity is to encourage and enhance corruption on a global scale by undermining the sovereignty of nations.

      So far, the U.N. hasn’t even settled the Korean conflict which was their first assigned task although they have reaped billions of dollars for funding that task. Also keep in mind that the U.N. runs the Jenin “refugee camp” from which the Palestinians launch terrorist attacks on Israel on a regular basis.

      RE The Black Hills and the Mount Rushmore. I would suggest that instead of giving the Black Hills back to the native Americans that we keep the Black Hills and give them the part of Manhatten Island on which the United Nations complex resides. I don’t believe there is a treaty between the U.N. and the native Americans so they could charge the U.N. any amount of rent they desired. Maybe the U.N. would voluntarily choose to relocate.

      THERIGHTSOFBILLY, Geez, forgot a couple of good ones while I up late last night. Got to mountain bike through the WWI Mons, Belgium fast moving battlefield between the Germans and Brits. But, the most fascinating was a trip that our unit took in October, ‘93 to do a battlefield walk in Arnhem and other locations nearby from A Bridge Too Far. We met with a former British Para NCO who lost an arm and eye in the battle and finished the war as a POW. He was our guide and we started at one of the cemeteries in the city where there was a funeral going on upon our arrival. The dead were buried in their foxholes where they died in action and are still being located. The cemetery was filled with maroon berets from all over the world and there were two from Russia even. The worlds paratroopers stand in respect for all of their own. While the home where COL Frost made his stand had become many things over the years post WWII to include even a brothel, it was a 3 story McDonalds while we were there. We were there the same time of year as the battle and it was really cold too. Many of us in the unit had just finished that year’s Nijmegen March back in July and we had already gone over other parts of the former battle area. While some of the bridges were new, many over various canals looked exactly like the one blown up in front of Elliot Gould.

      Some people are so entrenched in “party” politics that they‘ve lost sight of what’s best for our country. What makes Caroline, or any Democrat for that matter, think they are obligated to vote for Obama when they know he is ruining our Country – this is not rational thinking. What happened to voting for the best person for the position, even if one has to cross party lines in order to do so. I’ve voted for candidates from both parties – I voted for JFK and Ronald Reagan. I would vote for Kermit the Frog over Obama, not because I favor one party over another, but because I think Obama is the worst possible person to be President of the United States! By the way, Kermit is a Hollywood Star, Eats Flies and Dates a Pig! He could enhance the White House image.

      Look at this from the liberal point of view. After Obama looses the 2012 election by a landslide, the liberals will have to decide to either stick by Obama, or blame him for the defeat. I think what we are seeing is evidence that they will disown him and try to rebuild without him. The story that Clinton called him an amateur, and now that the Kennedy‘s don’t like him are the first cracks. How soon this becomes clear to the masses interests me. I think a lot of Dem’s will be distancing themselves from him as we get closer to his defeat in November.

      Before the last presidential election I excitedly went to hear Caroline Kennedy at a local union hall in Hammond, Indiana. What a dope. (both of us) She was so in the tank for BHO. So sad that a family so entrenched in our country’s history hangs so tight to their progressive ideals. Time to take a better look at where those ideas are taking us……who gives a crap that they were snubbed. Oh yeah, these political elitest do. Try putting that family name and energy toward protecting our Constitution.

      @majasdad. I would venture to guess that you listen to too much TV news if you believe conservatives have become more rightwing. Sadly for those of us Goldwaterites who are still alive, we see that the complete opposite is true. In fact, as has been rightly pointed out by many much more politically astute than me, JFK‘s politics would be leaning to the right of today’s GOP (yes, I said that right). Those in the Republican Party today who are considered moderate would have been branded as left leaning loonies if they were in office in the fifties. The Paul Ryan types maybe would have been labeled as moderate. Real conservatives of those days, if in office today, would be demanding a complete reversal of what government has become. Most people today are fed their beliefs via the MSM or Beltway pundits, which is why we are going to he11 in a handbasket.

    Listened to the intervieew Hannity had with Klein today – great stuff in there folks! He has the tapes of the interview with Wright & is giving them to Hannity to run.
    These feelings of Caroline match what he says he learned about Michelle and how she is very much like that – treated Oprah the same way and now Oprah feels like Caroline. It not only shows the light on the awful, hateful, racist, intolerant, jealous personalities of Obama but Michelle too. LOL

      You make a good point about conveying a message not necessarily depending on spelling. You‘ll notice that I’ve never chastised any poster about it. HOWEVER, as a writer, what you say and how you say it ARE important. It’s their job as writers to dis-spell any misleading connotations that arise from poorly worded, spelled, or structured sentences.

      For instance, the following is a horrible sentence (because it can be interpreted more than one way).

      “My father loves beer more than my mother.”

      You disagree with what I’ve said, so you immediately label me as a lefty? You’re not just off-base, you’re not even on the right planet. You would have known that if you would have taken the time to click my name and read some of my other posts before making an incorrect assumption…
