New Poll Data: When It Comes To Dems, ‘Trust Is Just A Name On A Bank’

The latest information from the Rasmussen polling group shows some surprising and possibly disturbing news for Democrats. The people trust the GOP on 9 out of 10 key issues.

New Poll Data: When It Comes To Dems, Trust Is Just A Name On A Bank

Issues that have typically been strong in GOP territory; National Security, Taxes, Iraq & Afghanistan are all solid wins for the GOP.

Education and Healthcare, two issues that have been Democratic strongholds have swung back to the GOP.

The issues in question are the basics that most voters consider while making their election choices.  The gaps are significant. The only good news for Democrats?  They earned a tie on the topic of Social Security.

    This is encouraging. We still need to reach the independents who feel that Obama has their best interest at heart because he is a nice person who is still trying to dig us out from under the Bush policies.There are many who still feel this way.

      Haven’t you heard? Independents left the Dems and Obama on 11-2-10 when they gave them such a “shellacking”. Nothing has happened since then that has restored confidence in the way the Dems are conducting business. I believe the Independents have seen enough.

    People will always blame the party in power and since the GOP just took the house in 2010 it is logcal that people woudl trust GOP more. Problems come when it is no longer genaric and you put a name next to the R. When you put the name Palin, Gingrich, Huckabee, Romeny, Bachmann and so on that is when it gets bad for the GOP. There isnt a viable cantidate in the GOP for the 2012 elections, only those that cater to the base but you need the independent vote which the GOP will not get

    Besides, watching how the GOp govern is going to jog memories and the honeymoon will soon be over. What has the GOp done for job creation? Seems all they are worried about is defunding planned parent hood, NPR and cutting union benafits. That wont go over will with police, fire fighters and teacher. So the GOP can kiss that goodbye, So sure, be happy over this poll. The reality is much worse for the GOP

Also, I have said this before to a couple people, if you don‘t believe my military status it doesn’t matter, because you not believing I am Marine doesn’t change the fact that I wake up every morning and put on the uniform… which is a helluva lot more than most people can say.

      I wonder if your admission that both sides are right some of the time automatically excludes you from being a progressive?

      You do not appear to be too progressive, at least as I define it, which is totally liberal/socialist. You actually seem to be fairly moderate. I wonder if your handle is not simply meant to draw people out?

      Anyway, good luck with any sort of level-headed dialogue in here. I think most people in here feel they are at war with the opposite party (both parties) and they have made up their minds to tow the party line no matter the argument. Is that bad? And to the Republic – The Supreme Court ruled that the American People had no expectation of owning any of that money. That SS was a tax and as such was wholly owned by the Government and as such benefits were completely at the whim of Congress. This decision was handed down in the early 60′s.

      Did the Congress advertise this decision every time they raised the SS Tax. No, they fostered the belief that the Government would take care of you in your old age. Not encouraging you to save for yourself. Let the government do it for you. Like all Ponzi Schemes the only ones that actually benefit are those that got in on the ground floor. The last in are S_O_L. Well this ponzi scheme has just about run its course, unfortunately the government has guaranteed this cluster and is on the hook to all those that paid in and were lied to. That’s the problem with spending other peoples money. They eventually run out and you as well as the sheep you rely on providing the funds have to suffer.

      The Socialists in power have done everything they can to destroy the economy and the country. Of course there is some info left out here that when everything goes sour the republicants will get blamed for all the damage the socialist did prior to Nov 2 ‘10, or will they just add to it?!

      Wow the RIno‘s are beating the D’s??? Who woulda thunk it? This R and D B.S. is driving me crazy. Time to rid ourselves of the polarization through limited and small government. We will not have the problems when one side decides to vote for something the other side has. Just get back to small, Very Small government without the right to vote for others stuff and problem goes away.

      Come on, Tex.
      There’s a 20 to 55 PERCENT spread on these numbers. That’s NOT an “even comparison”.
      Not by a long shot.

      I agree, this could mean that people are finally paying attention. The liberal lies have certainly been exposed for what they are. The American people are paying far more attention to what’s going on in this country, politically. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwehWN4dXKg

      Most of us here are news/political/current events junkies. This sample was only 1000 people, I am wondering what the outlook of the vast number of “regular folks” might be. I ran into a guy this morning who said to me: “Did you hear, did you hear???? We have dropped some bombs on Libya!” like this was some sort of breaking news. How do people NOT know?

      Hey Texasprogressive!
      Rasmussen is only right leaning when they don’t tell you what you want to hear.
      When they do tell you what you want to hear, suddenly they’re credible and legit.

      Actually Rasmussen is the most accurate of all the polls floating around. Funny how the Dems just ate Rasmussen up when they showed the Bush bad numbers, but now when they show the true Obama picture they holler “right leaning”.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
      Actually, their poll numbers got SO BAD that they had to create their OWN POLL, remember?
      @ TEXASREGRESSIVE……….do you actually believe your own spin on this being good news for the dems??????? I bet the WH and congress dems are saying just what you are saying. Hey not too bad we aren’t that far behind in 9 of 10 categories. Let’s just keep rolling with it the way we have been. Let’s see here 10 point or more spread in 5 of 10 and one that was an 8 point spread. Then you couldn’t even win in typically dominated democrat territory of SS, education, or health care. And another close category was congressional ethics, which most people are fed up with both career politicians. So your point ??????????????????????????????? I guess in lib world that isn’t bad. This is why your movement has been and will remain a minority view and movement as long as people deal with facts and continue to critically think for themselves.
