New Poll Shows Both Romney and Santorum Beating Obama in Head-to-Head

New Poll Shows Both Romney and Santorum Beating Obama in Head to Head

Why are Republicans so gloomy? The latest Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows the two leading Republican candidates for president each beating President Obama in a head-to-head this November:

“With the perception growing that he will be the GOP nominee, Romney leads President Obama by five points in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Today’s numbers show Romney at 48%, Obama at 43%. That’s Romney’s largest lead since December. Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update).

If Santorum is the Republican nominee, he is up by one point over the president, 46% to 45%. This is the second time since polling began in 2011 that Santorum has had a slight lead over Obama. Romney is the only other candidate to lead the president more than one time in the polls.”

The strong showing for Romney and Santorum may come as a surprise considering the positive jobs report released from the Labor Department Friday  showing the economy added 227,000 jobs in February, a performance expected to boost the president’s case for reelection. The Washington Post reports that Republicans reacted to the jobs report as the economy recovering “in spite of” the Obama administration’s policies.

During an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt” airing this weekend, Rick Santorum said the administration “has consistently seen, you know, bad job reports because of bad policies that have led to those job reports,” he said. “And eventually, you know, the economy does recover, in spite of the headwinds that this administration has put in its place.”

Gallup report Thursday showed that U.S. unemployment, as measured without seasonal adjustment, increased to 9.1 percent in February from 8.6 percent in January and 8.5 percent in December.

The Rasmussen poll released Saturday also showed that only 25 percent of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way President Obama is performing, in comparison to 44 percent who Strongly Disapprove. As for Tuesday’s upcoming primaries, the poll showed the GOP race in Alabama essentially a three-way tie, and Mitt Romney retaining control in Mississippi ahead by eight.  Nationally, Romney now leads Rick Santorum by 12 points. Regardless of who they want to win, Rasmussen notes 80% of Republican Primary Voters nationwide believe Romney will be the party’s nominee.

Rasmussen got the last presidential election to with 1 percentage point. No one else even came close to that. He also called it for Obama, so good luck with any argument that he’s a shill for anyone.

Generally, speaking Rasmussen’s stats are the closest thing to reality.

He doesn‘t care who wins as long as his numbers are right and he’s said so.

Remember, this is the guy that started ESPN and built their computer database for stat tracking. So if there’s one thing he knows, its stats.

Keep remembering that Obama was elected by only 30% of registered voters. There was a 58% turnout and of the people who actually voted, 52% voted for Obama. Multiply 0.58 and 0.52 and you get 0.30. Just 30% of registered voters saddled us with Obama. Forget about the polls and just vote. He has not gained followers.

Don’t believe those unemployment numbers, they’re Commie lies. Real unemployment is more like 15 or 20 percent. The Commie/Democrats are doing what they always do, like what they did with Franklin Roosevelt, start a Depression and then hope it will let the Commies to take over because people are so desperate.

I believe Obama can’t win. Things are so bad everyone can see the truth. It won’t matter who our candidate is, he, or she (Palin, maybe), will wipe the floor with Obama. And we’ll take the House and the Senate too. Then we’ll have a 100 percent Conservative/Republican government and we’ll clear all the Commie/Democrats out of our government.

Well actually a fungus encrusted toenail clipping can defeat the big 0 in November. Even Jimminy Carter could defeat him. I don‘t understand why we shouldn’t go ahead a run a real conservative. He’ll win. I honestly believe there’s no chance for Obama to legally win in November. He’s not going to draw the votes. It’s going to be a landslide win, but covered up as a win for the republican and somehow spun to blame race and such by the media.

Shale oil is different from crude oil. We have never built a refinery for shale oil (at least not on a commercial scale). Shale oil is largely comprised of kerogen, which (as the name implies) is close to kerosene — and that is very similar to diesel fuel and jet fuel. Interestingly, Estonia produces the most shale oil in the world. An Estonian company is in Utah right now working on developing Utah’s shale oil and/or tar sands.

A point of view from So. Oregon – Keep the Republican Race going all the way through California. Our primary is in May, California in June and Texas is also late in the season. We are tired of having our primaries decided by East Coast hacks. Last week at a Republican Convention – where there was a straw poll. The first speaker taking the mike said we had to vote for the most electable….Romney. My question is – who has the right to tell me who is the most electable – 8 months out from the election. I’ve had to vote in Primaries far too many times, when the Candidate has already been chosen – so voted for any other Republican still listed or wrote one in as a protest against the primary system as it currently stands. BTW – the stawpoll at Dorchester was won by Romney – I guess some people are still afraid to vote their heart. Clingtogodandguns/JQCitizen – your right even Paul should be able to beat Obama. Just wish our candidates would turn their flames against Obama rather than each other (in super pac ads & debates).

Well that’s lovely thinking, but it’s almost guaranteed to not happen. Do you realize what a high bar you are setting, even for lackluster Romney? It might be POSSIBLE for Romney, in the same way that it is POSSIBLE (i.e. conceivable) that the Sun wouldn’t rise tomorrow, but Santorum? Ha, never–you think Santorum can win in places like Oregon, California, Washington, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Delaware, Rhode Island, etc.????!!! No way! There’s probably a higher chance of a resurrected Adolf Hitler winning political office in Israel, than there is of Santorum winning a general election in this country, MUCH LESS doing so in a historically unprecedented “landslide.”

There’s a world of difference between a poll and an actual general election–Romney might have a genuine shot of beating Obama, but Santorum doesn’t have a chance in hell. He “beat” Obama by 1 percentage point in the poll, hardly statistically significant–do the same poll tomorrow and it probably shows him down by 2 points, and so on and so forth. But, please, Republicans, do field him as your nominee–I’m just DYING to see him in a general election. Doesn’t matter if he wins the general election or not–for me, his distinct and patently obvious stupidity (even compared to the other “geniuses” running our political pony show) disqualifies him a priori from holding office, and makes any electoral victory he could win illegitimate. I will never acknowledge the authority of a Santorum Presidency, I would rather die then see Santorum ruin this country without opposition.

I’ll tell you why because Allah is the devil, and if he wasn‘t then Allah wouldn’t need suicide bombers to spread Islam. And I might add that suicide bombers are to spreading Sharia, as mass shooters in America are to big government against the second Amendment. In Islam suicide bombers think they have something personal to gain from Allah and it spreads the need out of fear for Sharia, and in America shooters think they have something selfish to gain from getting rid of a problem that anti-bullying-rules or policy doesn’t accomplish, but only benefits government.

Obama and his lovely far left army all agree on the destruction of liberty; which is why we‘ve had such a tough time fighting his ’total transformation’ plan. Whomever we put in the White House; if GOP wins, we will be able to keep that guy on the side of common sense and keeping liberty (keeping our guns) secure. I will say that I am not excited about any of these fellows. Cain excited me, then he disappointed me. My enthusiasm is rooted in the removal of a very destructive, lying, narcissistic man who should have never become a leader–of anything. He is vile. Romney and Obama also think its ok for American citizens to be indefinitely detained. Hell how can you say anything Romney really believes in. He has been on the both sides of almost every issue. He will say what needs to get elected, its called spineless.

      Romney = Obama 2nd term

MARTINEZ: “Governor Romney Believes The Second Amendment Is About More Than Just Self-Defense Or Sport; It’s About The Basic Freedom Of Lawful Citizens To Live Their Lives. The Second
Amendment was enshrined by the Founding Fathers in our Constitution and our Bill of Rights to
protect the rights of our citizens to own firearms and defend themselves. Bumper sticker gun control
does not protect the individual but does take away protections. Criminals do not buy guns in stores
nor subject themselves to background checks. Law-abiding citizens have a right to protect their
homes and their families.” Taken from Romney.com/Second Amendment site.

That shoots down your argument about Romney not believing citizens have a right to bear arms. Romney is an NRA member.

Romney may Flip on opinions but he does not Flop. We all have a right to change our minds. I hope you will do some soul-searching yourself and decide to Flip. Romney/Rubio 2012!

Obama has stated that he will not run for a third term. INTERPRETATION: If he gets in for another four years currently he will probably execute one more Executive Order and continue to stay past 2016. Remember, his wife Michelle warned us prior to their nomination that we would have to “change our traditions, change the way we think, etc” and we STILL elected them!!! Looks like she knew what she was talking about!
