New Romney Ad Hits Obama on ‘Fine’ Private Sector

Romney Fine ad

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney hit back President Barack Obama’s “the private sector is doing fine” remark with a scathing web ad on Sunday featuring eight people who are anything but.The 54-second spot describes job loss, personal bankruptcy, a two-year job hunt, loss of pension and more.

“We’ve seen layoffs, cutbacks,” one woman says.

“When it‘s all said and done I’m making $200 a month,” a man says.

The ad closes with the words, “No, Mr. President, we are not doing fine.”

Hemp legalization added to Senate farm bill
    Rawstory.com
    June 10, 2012

In a last minute addition to the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) has submitted an amendment that would legalize the production of industrial hemp, a potential new bumper crop for U.S. farmers.

“Industrial hemp is used in many healthy and sustainable consumer products. However, the federal prohibition on growing industrial hemp has forced companies to needlessly import raw materials from other countries,” Wyden said in prepared text. “My amendment to the Farm Bill will change federal policy to allow U.S. farmers to produce hemp for these safe and legitimate products right here, helping both producers and suppliers to grow and improve Oregon’s economy in the process.”

Here you go, people that work in the private sector pay TAXES, homeowners pay TAXES small business owners pay TAXES when they don’t work or own homes or go out of business no TAXES are paid, but the GOV.WORKERS always want more, do the math if you even know how..

In Obama’s eyes the private sector is right where he wants it. Battered and bruised. He wants a weak private sector so there is not much resistance when he fully implements his plan to turn the USA into a hybrid socialist/communist nation. What he can not see is that Americans are used to fighting and are a tenacious society by nature. From the War of Independence through the taming of the West, we don’t give up.

The President is correct. Corporate profits are up 60%, and most of the job growth, 26 straight months has been in the private sector. It is public sector jobs that aren’t doing well. When you cut public sector jobs, which provide good wages and benefits, you cut back on demand for goods and services in the private sector. It is a lack of demand and not fears of higher taxes that is creating the weak recovery. People don’t want to buy anything or they cut back on going out to eat and it drives down profits (and jobs) for private businesses. Austerity measures only sound good in the very short run, in the long run, they are self-destructive and stupid.

“Austerity” = spending what you have and no more. Yeah, that is really destructive and stupid. Borrowing money we don‘t have to pay for jobs and benefits we can’t afford is brilliant.

If these public jobs are hurting so much, how come the average federal employee makes more than the average private sector employee? In my state, state wages exceed private wages as well. What are you and Obumbler talking about? Good luck selling that garbage to those of us who have no guarantee, no pension, and health care we have to pay most of the costs for. We have to bust our butts every day to make sure our customers are taken care of. If we don’t, we have nothing. We take all the risk and we are demonized for making a buck doing it! Give me a break.

You think those of us who expect the government to live within its means are out of touch? If my business finances were kept like the federal government we would be shut down, and we would go to jail. I do not think expecting my government to make sure revenues match expenses is too much!

Austerity is a word that socialists have adopted because it sounds really scary. Austerity is simply fiscal responsibility as in don’t spend more than you bring home. In the USA we need more than austerity, we need to spend much less than we bring in to help start paying down the debt that is yoked around my children’s necks.

What Desertrose fails to understand that the public sector is a drain on the economy. It takes tax dollars from the private sector to pay for the public sector. When that public sector person goes out to buy a bag of groceries, they are doing it with somebody else’s money. The larger the public sector grows the more the private sector has to “contribute” in order to sustain it. That means less money in the private sector and thus less actual economical growth.

I think it is safe to say we all agree that some government is necessary, but where we are today is a far cry from the vision of the founders.

All those lost public sector jobs mean lost income and lost business in the private sector which means lost jobs and lost income for the private sector. A healthy economy depends on the goods and services produced by the private sector. Without a healthy private sector, there is little tax money to pay for civil servants. We do NOT have a healthy private sector in 2012 and we cannot afford to hire more civil servants.

Every time the economy sinks lower, Obama says bigger, more bloated government is the answer. But how are we supposed to pay for this extravagance?
