New SEAL Team 6 Book Challenges Official Story: Says bin Laden Was Shot Dead Within 90 Seconds

Chuck Pfarrer was a commander in the elite US Navy Seal Team Six whose members killed the world’s most wanted man, Osama bin Laden, in a mission this past May. Now, a new book authored by Pfarrer is set to spark some controversy as it is contradiction with several points of the original account of the raid in Abbottabad.
Pfarrer’s book differs from the official details in that he claims bin Laden was killed within 90 seconds of the raid, not after a 45-minute firefight. Pfarrer also writes that one of the Black Hawk Helicopters crashed not while trying to initially land, but rather after depositing SEALs on the roof of the building. The Telegraph writes of Pfarrer’s book:
“‘Only minutes after bin Laden was dead did the lead helicopter, heading for a landing spot, lose altitude and sink, tail-first, into the large walled enclosure east of the main house.’ Pfarrer explains that if the SEALs had been forced to climb stairs to reach bin Laden, as has been officially claimed, he would have had enough warning to arm and effectively defend himself.
‘Bin Laden was dead within 90 seconds of the beginning of the raid, not after an extended firefight,’ Pfrarrer said. ‘Four suppressed rounds were fired.’”
Pfarrer bases his account in “SEAL Target Geronimo” on face-to-face interviews he claims to have had with several men involved in the raid. The book has created controversy, as CNN writes that a U.S. official told the network that every member of the Navy SEAL team on the raid has been questioned by superiors about whether they spoke to Pfarrer.
Pfarrer adds that Amal bin Laden, the al-Qaeda chief’s youngest wife, was wounded in the calf during the second round of fire, as she was shoved her in the way of the shooters, writes the Telegraph.
“The book also argues that bin Laden’s long-time deputy, Ayman Zawahiri, may have been ultimately responsible for leading the US to his boss because he repeatedly sent a courier, whose cover he must have known had already been blown, in and out of the compound.”
Pfarrer also said that there was no utterance of “For God and country” when they shot bin Laden in the head and heart, also contrary to other reports.
The book was due to be released later this month, but has been delayed for several weeks while being cleared by government officials. The Telegraph writes that its British edition is being revised due to concerns that individuals named may sue the author for libel. CNN notes that Pfarrer said he engaged in ‘dramatic reconstruction” of some events in the book where he directly quoted top officials involved in the attack, by giving them false names in order to protect their identity.

Posted on November 7, 2011 at 2:30amI would have to agree with you Rock, that this guy probably didn’t talk to anyone, but maybe said he did so it would give him credibility. By reading the article I was thinking that the author’s account might have more to do with his speculation of what happened. I also found it odd after watching the History Channel‘s account of the event that there wouldn’t be more protection around Bin Laden if it took so long for the SEALS to reach him and with the loud sound of a helicopter crashing. The 90 second time line sounds more appropriate, but only to boys that were there know for sure…….and does it really matter?

Posted on November 7, 2011 at 1:57amSo, this guy does 8 years in the teams, in the 80′s (which I believe is true) and he has access to current DevGru operators and they are going to risk their careers by divulging what is for all intentions, still classified material, so dude could write a book…I’m thinking maybe not so much. If this guy has that kind of access, and has any respect for his fellow frogmen, I would hope he would not be putting their careers in jeopardy for the sake of a book deal. Just my two cents…They’re all grown ups, but seems like a stretch. I hope it did happen the way he described it, anything that makes the Obammy administration look even more foolish is one more nail in the proverbial coffin.

Besides, I thought a majority of those team members were killed in the helicopter crash later? I tend to believe our seals could take someone out in 90 seconds, as opposed to being so inept it takes 45 minutes. That‘s what they’re trained to do. And there was a typo (surprise, surprise)…did they mean to say the youngest wife was pushed by Osama into the way, or did she just get in the way? confused by that sentence.

When did the US start casually shooting prisoners? The amazing thing is that everyone seems to have swallowed this tale…

I still know the seals had a tough job going in the compound not knowing what they would be facing and give them great honor. Obama allowing lies to be told, (which we don’t know in the book the seal will get to speak the total truth) is totally un-American. I wish we could get some reasonable explanation why Osama got the honor of a burial, but I guess we never will, bc there is no reasonable explanation like everything else our President orders. The WH will have to read the book first to make sure Obama gets the credit for every detail in the mission.

They didn’t have a chance to clear it with the W.H. and kept it from all (top secret) for a while..For security and safety of many. The SEALS were sent into a compound as evidenced by the lost chopper on site. But Osama Bin Laden wasn’t in that compound. Osama Bin Laden has been dead for years. Bin Laden had a genetic condition that caused renal failure (this genetic condition is common among deeply inbred Saudi arab muslims). Bin Laden had been on dialysis BEFORE 9/11. Dialysis is difficult enough for people in first world countries who can have it done in outstanding facilities. Bin Laden was having it done either in caves or in homes post 9/11. People in renal failure having dialysis done in fricking caves do NOT live for ten more years. Period. There was no dialysis equipment found in the compound the SEALS raided on May 2. Of course there wasn’t. Bin Laden wasn’t in that compound because Bin Laden has been dead for years.
