New Soros Agenda: Stacking the CourtsIs there no end to the number and types of left-wing political causes George Soros sinks his inexhaustible supply of money into?  Apparently not.

From funding a Super PAC to defeat Republican candidates, to spending $48 million on the media, to his plan for a one world government in Agenda 21, to his crusade to legalize drugs, Soros is on a mission to change the world, literally. This time, however, he’s focused on the slightly more subtle agenda of electing non-federal judges. In other words, stacking the courts.

According to a FoxNews.com report Monday, the left-wing billionaire is now drawing ire from critics for trying to “stack the courts.” In a review of Soros‘ Open Society Institute’s tax returns from the last decade, the report uncovered more than $5 million in earmarks for “judicial selection.”

One of Soros’ priorities, the reports says, is to replace elections for judges with “selection-by-committee.”

From the FoxNews.com report:

Most non-federal judges around the country are selected by voters in elections. But some states use a process called “merit selection” in which a committee – often made up of lawyers – appoints judges to the bench instead.

“Merit selection would end the money race and get judges out of the fundraising business,” Lynn Marks, executive director of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts — a group that has received money from Soros’ Open Society Institute — told FoxNews.com.

Soros has spent several million dollars in the past decade in an attempt to get more states to scrap elections and adopt the merit method. Supporters say it would allow judges to focus on interpreting the law rather than on raising campaign funds and winning elections.

Naturally, opponents of Soros’ far left agenda fear that if judges are picked by committee — in this case a committee of lawyers — left-wing judges would be a shoe-in for the position.  Colleen Pero, author of a report titled “Hijacking Justice,“ told FoxNews that election judges are ”more independent” than judges appointed by committee, and explained that “merit selection” is by its very nature, “undemocratic:”

“It would be a handful lawyers who would select judges… with elections, the people actually have a say.”

Pero’s report also found Open Society Institute has given $45 million over the last decade to campaigns focused on restructuring the judiciary.  That figure, however, has been coined a “horrendously bogus distortion of numbers,” by “Justice at Stake” — a group that, not coincidentally, has thus far received a reported $7 million from OSI.  Of the $7 million $50,000 was earmarked by OSI for “public education regarding merit selection.” Likewise, another group called Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts, received $90,000 from OSI in 2007 to “expand and grow a coalition in support of merit selection.”

Not surprisingly, recipients of Soros-money are eager to defend the virtues of “merit selection” and express a desire for greater Soros involvement. Marks even went so far as to tell FoxNews elections actually “discourage” competent lawyers from seeking the bench because they aren’t “good politicians.”

“They don‘t put their name in for nominations because they think they don’t have the political connections or access to dollars.”

If this report is any indication, however, those discouraged lawyers actually do have “political connection” and “access to dollars” after all.

    I haven’t wished death upon many people in my life, but I can’t help but thinking that the world would be a much better place if Soros unexpectedly died in the near future. He can reunite with all the Jews who’s land he confiscated for the Nazis. Actually, most of them are probably resting in a much cooler place than Soros will wind up.

    this is nothing new. They have been stacking the courts since they were created. They have been stacking govs, reps, sec. of state, appintees, asseblies,councils, law enforcement, etc..

    The people need to decide what’s worth living for and dying for. Most of these drunkd and drug addicts are cowards. They will run so fast when they see their compadres hanging on our state and fed capitols.

    Otherwise they will continue to enslave us all. You decide folks.

    We should be taking lessons from him;

    we should be starting our own SOSP;

    we should be actively working to undermine (legally) the UN;

    we should be actively working to pack the courts, and where possible, abolish courts;

    we should be actively working to take over education;

    we should be actively working to remake the media.

    Instead, we sit around wringing our hands, and hoping the GOP will do something.

      He stated that Wilders is a “far right” guy…but didn’t actually call him a fascist, even though that’s the title of the video. One needs to be careful to not be stereotypical…as Beck pointed out to Wilders while at CNN.       Getalong – Think twice. “Spooky Dude” Soros has already put in place individuals to come along and take over his work once he is dead or mentally incapable. These people have been working toward globalization and ruination of North America since at least the mid-1800′s. They are the quintessential long-term planners. To them, it is not so much a personal achievement thing, as much as it is an ideological thing for generation after generation to carry forward. All they’re waiting on now is for those of us in the babby boom, X, and earlier generations to die, or for our numbers to become insignificant. That is why they are concentrating so much on children & education (check out provisions of Agenda 21). And they will be successful (already are in many ways) because it is not a political party issue — members of Congress and each President for many years have fully supported Agenda 21.

      Like Glenn Beck often says – Truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable. Read Agenda 21 and the textbooks of your children and grandchildren (if you dare).

      With people voting for judges, that would keep the judges in line. This is another attempt by Soros to gain more control over the country. Just went through O‘Reilly’s book “Culture Warrior” and he mentions since the “secular progressives” keep getting rejected at the voting booth, they’re going after the judicial system. Question, who gets Soros’ money when he dies?

      Merit selection has to be better than political appointments and certainly better than elections given the changes in campaign financing. So people are concerned that conservative judges might not make the grade based on merit?? Isn’t Clarence Thomas a solid role model of merit based political appointments…..

      exactly. Congressional hearings into the actions of this guy. He has been supporting this Judge group for a while. I will link the website for these people . They are making strides.

      He also supports Judicial races all over the Country, to ELECT sympathetic Judges at every level, focusing on Local, circuits, etc on up. Just like the Agenda 21 locals.. get the smaller communities and build up.

      I am not sure he is breaking the law supporting Judicial races or Merrits by contributing (probably not ) but I sure like to see legal minds look at it if there is some effort to Undermine the Country.

      There are TONS of games with financial manipulation that he is directly involved in,.No question, but with the SEC not having to release Investigations any more ( Obama,Pelosi directive/law/rule change ) this would be where to get him .

      He is not a friend to anyone but himself. No mistake about it, he see’s himself as the leader/Man behind the curtain of the World.
